Rating: Summary: No less than 5 stars! Review: How anyone can rate this (and other Myst games) less than 5 stars is beyond me! the fun level of this game was definately 5 stars! I had no problems with the CD-ROM version running on Win2000 (I have the server edition); even though it says it doesn't support Win2K. I can't seem to find a copy of Riven on DVD...but I really want it! I've already gotten well into the Exile game, but I think the fun level of Riven is better. (Exile is equally worth owning and playing!) Hooray for E rated games!
Rating: Summary: A good game, but terrible replay value Review: I enjoy playing the Myst games once through, they are fun and challenging. However my computer would not allow me to hit a certain switch for some reason, and I was therefore never able to get to the location on the cover. Even if I had, I would never play the game again, I would know how to do everything, and therefore, what would be the point? At least it is better then Myst in which you can win within about 15 minutes of starting the game, but still... Any 60 dollar game (as it was when it was released) should last longer than this. With the detail put in, the game itself is rather short, with puzzle solving accounting for much of your time. Also some puzzles can be so frustrating when you know what to do, but can't (the stopping the scopes thing, the puzzle at the top of the dome on the first island). I thought it was a beautiful game, but I wouldn't get it unless it is below 20 dollars, otherwise I don't really think it's worth it.

Rating: Summary: Very Good Game Review: I enjoyed playing Myst. I was so excited that Riven was a sequel. Boy was I disappointed. I felt as if I just went around in circles. In Myst, you searched for pages. In Riven, it seems as if you are searching for something unknown. Gave the game away.

Rating: Summary: very fun, VERY DIFFICULT Review: I enjoyed Riven very much. It wasn't a game that you got through in a single afternoon, and it keeps you challenged, but with adequate rewards for defeating puzzles. It is nice that you can wander and choose your puzzles at the beginning. Be warned, however, the game gets VERY DIFFICULT when you get to the fire marbles, and at this point, figuring out the location and the color of the marbles, the game requires Albert Einstein IQ, but you can handle it....right? The only dissapointment that I experienced was that of capturing Ghen. When I opened the book, I had expected something to the effect of: NO! How could you do this to me! Instead, you merely see dunny swirling around. No big deal, but slightly dissapointing. If you are looking for a clean, challenging game that will keep you busy for a long, long time, look no further. Riven is the game for you.
Rating: Summary: Fun Game, couple bugs Review: I just finished Myst, Riven, and the novels. Read the novels, they bring more into the gameplay. Riven DVD was a good conclusion but froze in a couple places continually. The only way to pass this was to turn around several times before trying to proceed. Overall though well worth any trouble.
Rating: Summary: what's a title? Review: If you liked this game, then read the novels; The Book of Atrus, The Book of T'iana, and The Book of D'ni! They are great!
Rating: Summary: One of the best games I've ever played! Review: Riven is a wonderful computer game- the sequel to the phenomenal Myst and the prequel to the extremely wonderful Myst: Exile. It takes a while to finish it, but it's worth it. I would recommend buying a walkthrough book or if you really wanted to figure it out on you own, get a writing pad and draw EVERYTHING that you see. It'll come in handy. Again, it's one of the best games I've ever played!
Rating: Summary: Riven DVD Review: Riven was originally released on 5 CDs. Whenever you would go to another island, you would get this annoying message "PLEASE INSERT CD #...". Now with Riven on DVD, no more annoying messages. It also comes with "the Making of Riven" which is a MUST SEE for Myst fans!
