Rating: Summary: A classic Review: If you're reading this review, you may be under the impression that I'm trying to oversell it. Perhaps I am. It doesn't matter; this game deserves it. Hands down, I have never seen a more beautiful and challenging game. Every scene is a postcard. The music is so perfect you think they chose the playlist first and worked the game aronud it. It made me laugh, though the humor is wry and subtle and may be hard to appreciate. It made my eyes water, though there's no heavy-handed sentimentality. You'll fall in love with the characters, whose voices are perfect. When something goes wrong in the story, you'll feel genuine delight or devastating depression, depending on the situation. Lucasarts could easily have made a movie based on the interesting characters and elaborate cutscenes alone. (And, for my money, I hope they do...)The game is not perfect, but in an industry fixated on violent first-person shooters and manufactured WarCraft clones, Grim Fandango is a welcome breath of fresh air. They say the adventure game is dead; this is proof to the opposite. It is a disappointment that the game sold poorly, because it's just this kind of game that makes me glad I own a computer.
Rating: Summary: Wow. Just WOW! Review: This game is so amazing. I've never seen anything quite like it. Every character in the game has their own distinctive attitude and way that you can attach to. Wait... did that make sense? Anyway, go get this game cause it's just amazing.
Rating: Summary: The greatest adventure game of all time! Review: This game was truely the best adventure game I have played and I've played a few. The story is brilliant, the characters are so great that you actually miss them when you stop playing and the graphics and sounds are top-noch as well. The only downside of the game is that it ends. I can recommend this game to anyone.
Rating: Summary: Definately the best adventure game ever made Review: Without a single doubt in my mind, this is the best adventure game ever made. It has all the aspects of a terrific game, magnified to the best potential. Terror, Suspense, Comedy(oh, the comedy), Romance, and a setting that can only be described as beatiful. It made me want to watch Casablanca over and over again. I love the art, the music, and the voices (they couldn't have picked better voices for all the characters, especially Manny). p.s. If you haven't played the game yet, just wait 'till you get to Rubacava :)
Rating: Summary: The best game ever Review: This is not just another game ! it is much more than that: the story, the music, the characters and the design are just PERFECT. The only regret i have is that there is not much chance for another game like it. The graetest game ever !
Rating: Summary: This is a wonderful game. Review: This is great game, the story is engaging, the puzzles fit in nicely with the story so that they don't seem like puzzles, and the music is absolutely fantastic. I stopped playing the game and just listened to the music at some points. I loved the characters too, Manny, Lupe, Glottis, and all the rest
Rating: Summary: Lucasarts once again proves its the king of adventure games. Review: This game, along with another Lucasarts graphic adveture, The Curse of Monke Island, is the best adventure game I have ever played. The Charecters are lovable and hilarious, the plot is interesting and original, and the puzzles are so nicely integrated that they don't seem like puzzles at all. This game also gets my award for best artwork of any game. If you want big laughs, brain puzzleing and beutiful graphics, then this is the game for you.
Rating: Summary: Best Adventure/Puzzle Game Review: This is the best adventure/puzzle game I have played. It is more compelling than Riven because it has heart to it. It leaves you with feeling and interest in the memorable characters. The puzzles are pointless at times, but less so than other games. Best music ever in a game. There are great characters and sweet, funny, and entertaining moments throughout.
Rating: Summary: I've played a lot of adventure games; this is the best. Review: I've played every adventure game from Zork to Riven, and I must say that Grim Fandango emerges as the leader of the pack. Most games aren't fun after you've beaten them, but I find myself returning to GF again and again. The graphics are stunning; the puzzles are challenging without being too frustrating or distracting you from the story, which is as interesting as a good detective movie. The voice acting- as always in LucasArts games- is superb. The music is so good I'd buy a CD of the soundtrack. The gameplay is immersive and fairly easy to master, except for the frustration involved in using just about any of the elevators in the game. After a session of GF, I find myself speaking with a Latin accent and wanting to call people "Manny" and "Meche." The entertainment value of GF is worth much more than $.
Rating: Summary: Excellent graphics Review: The plot of the game may seem odd, but it grows on you. The puzzles can be annoying at times, but most Role-playing games are that way. It has an excellent storyline, great graphics, and great dialogue. Its a ten in my book.
