Summary: A Challenging Game
Review: I love ghost stories, especially those with a mystery. This game did not disappoint me in that area. The graphics are good, the story somewhat perplexing. I would've liked to know more about Brice. Margaret and Edwin's stories were tragic, but Brice's was downright creepy. The two heartstopping (the knife bobbing in the air and the spirit flying up the stairs) episodes involved him. The techno stuff, I found pretty interesting, too. Let's have a sequel, please?

Summary: Lightly creepy but not great
Review: I found that the game was interesting, but I wasn't pleased with the ending. I'm a person who likes multiple endings and Amber doesn't have it. Besides that, your co-worker, Roxy, is a very "perky" person who tends to become annoying while watching her on the videotape and at the finale. Edwin's story was heart wrenching, and Margaret and Brice's stories were tragic as well. The only thing I have to complain about was how shallow the stories were. Margaret, for instance, touched lightly on World War II but her story never gets any farther than a few rooms with a radio. The graphics were great, as well as the music and techno babble of the paranormal. I just wanted some multiple endings and a new co-worker, but besides that, it was a good buy, but not great.

Summary: Great game. Wish it was longer.
Review: I found this game in the discount rack at an office supply store. I love these types of games. The graphics and sounds were great, though some was hard to understand. I loved the era shifting and experiencing different 'hauntings.' Only wished it had been longer.

Summary: What a surprise!
Review: I picked this game up in the bargain bin at our local software store. What a surprise! The plot was intriguing, the graphics and scenery great, the music was wonderful. I agree the only thing wrong with it was it's length. We were sincerely depressed when it ended! This game is seriously underrated. I am amazed (for it's quality) that it is not more popular. Just enough challenge, and creepy enough to draw you in! You'll love it.

Summary: Loved that Game
Review: When I first started the game I was amazed to witness several wierd and unusual hauntings like I saw a bloody knife floating in midair in the kitchen and it then floated up the stairs I thought it was neat how you could set up the equiment and go to different portals in time and trying to help the spirit find out hw it died I hope that I can find more games like it and I think that it is a long interesting game with good grapics and a plot that keeps you hooked for hours. I highly recomend this game to anyone who enjoys the supernatural or just plain likes computer games and mystery.:)

Summary: A good game, but way too short!
Review: This game actually scared me a couple times, as I witnessed supernatural phenomena via the various monitoring devices, and I wondered what was going to come find me....This is a great game to play if you've ever wanted to be a paranormal investigator--you get to play with some of the funnest toys since the Ghostbusters movie! The only reason I didn't give it more stars was because it seemed way too short. It's still a great buy, however!

Summary: AMBER- JUST PLAIN FUN
Review: Amber is a CLASSIC computer adventure game, in the style of the original MYST. It is not as long a game, but entirely enjoyable.
The puzzles are not THAT hard (not THAT easy either), and I only needed to look at a walkthrough a couple of times.

An interesting array of different set ups through the game.
Set your computer screen for lower resolution, and the game window gets bigger-- 800X600 will fill up your monitor screen.

THis is my second time playing the game- and it took a lot of investigation to figure out (on the web) that Amber WILL NOT- ABSOLUTELY NOT WORK ON WINDOWS XP. You need an older OS, Win98 is perfect. I bought a computer at the Salvation Army with 98 on it just to play this game-- it was worth it.

A very nostalgic thing about the game, very involving, very atmospheric with beautiful sound effects and story.

Remember, its more rudimentary looking than many games today, but this in no way detracts from the enjoyment.

A very cool game. I'll wait a couple of years and play it again.

Summary: Cool, spooky game
Review: I really enjoyed this game. I was turned on to it by some friends who witnessed my frustration with Myst and Riven. They knew my interest in the paranormal and passed this one along. I've had it for several years now and have solved it umpteen times, it's just fun to revisit it once in awhile. The only problem is that I'm running XP now and I've tried changing the compatibility in the computer, but I can't play it anymore. I suppose that the company is out of business or something because their website is non-existant and there is no contact number. Good luck to those running a newer version of Windows who want to play this- it's a great game though!!

Summary: Pee now or forever hold it:-O
Review: This game has nice visuals and a decent storyline. It's not terribly difficult, so there shouldn't be too many times when you're stuck in a rut at any given point. Ignore the reviews by people who are down-grading the quality because they didn't bother to look at the system requirements before purchasing it (Windows2000 is not and never has been "backward compatible" with Windows 95...they have totally different source code and work on different architectures. As for XP, yes this game will work on XP, if you run it in compatibility mode for Windows 95 or 98. Compatibility mode isn't a feature of Windows2000, so that's why you won't be able to run it on that platform).
