Summary: How awsome is this?
Review: Normally, I HATE RPG's. Everytime I saw one, I avoided it like the plauge. They were just boring to me. Then, yesterday, my friend forced me to play it. It was the MOST fun game I have ever played. I tried it yesterday and I bought it today. You definitly have to get this game. Even if you hate RPG's.

Summary: I'm blown away, here!
Review: Yay! The first game that opens the RPG to the Internet with hack-and-slash multiplayer! Myself, a fan of both RPG's and RTS's, played the full single-player game through first before venturing onto Battle.net. The single-player was impressive, but the multiplayer is what blew me away. Wow. No furter description is required...........

Summary: Work Out Your Frustrations on Foul Demons!
Review: "Diablo" is a game I played a couple of years ago as a demo, which only covered the first level of play. Following a course in Gothic literature, and eager to cleanse myself of the genre, I recently went out and bought the full version of "Diablo". I remained rooted to my desk chair for 8 hours that day. Lo, how many demons did I slay that proud day! 'Addictive' does not adequately describe the power this game wields over your mind.

Each level, randomely rendered, offers progressively stranger and more ridiculously named weapons and armour. One of the most appealing features of the game is the hands-on quality of the gameplay. It is extremely engaging for a role-playing game, and hand to hand combat against the foulest corruptions of the pit allows you to work out your daily frustrations as you play.

The music in the over-world scenes is lovely and haunting, while the deeper you go into the labyrinth below the town church, the music becomes more sparse, accentuating the death-cries of the demons.

I have a very slow computer, and the game still runs flawlessly. This, I believe, is the best part of "Diablo". If you own a computer made in the last 5 years, you are assured of outstanding gameplay and unending fascination and entertainment.

Summary: Almost perfect!
Review: This game is as close as a game can get at this time to "the holy grail of gaming" where newbies find it accessible and hardcore gamers find it challenging. Part time gamers have very good access to it, (though not perfect, see some of the respawning complaints for further details) and marathon gamers can follow the singular, linear story line for days, not hours, at a time.

A warning though, this is not a game to play on your lunch hour (though I wish that I actually had a "thorns" aura on a previous job) as you will either play well past the end of your lunchtime or find that the first person you see after you quit the game you'll want to beat into unconsciousness to see how much gold pops out. Not good (no really, you can't play Diablo II in jail). Either way, this is one of the only games you will buy in your lifetime that you will be actively playing 3 YEARS from now! How can I make this claim. I actively played it's predecessor for 3 years and it was nowhere as rich in detail nor story. Some may wish for a Diablo III (which WILL happen. You don't sell 2 Million copies in the first month and NOT have a sequel of some kind) to be out by Christmas. Not me. I am happy to wait for several years so that I have the time to fully explore the rich and vast world of Diablo II. It is the only game I am currently recommending (except for a reluctant nod to Unreal Tournament for those first-person junkies, God love 'em).

Summary: Addictive!
Review: I am warning you. You will get addicted to Diablo II. The game will pull you into a different world that won't take the usual 10 or so hours to beat. It's multiplayer mode lets you defeat deamons with other Mac&PC users all over the net, adding more to the depth of this game. Watch out, you will find yourself adding more and more powerful weapons and spells to your character each and every day, bringing you further and further to the point where you will eat, sleep, and dream DIABLO II!

You have been warned...

Summary: Diablo 2 on the Macintosh is the Best Video Game Ever
Review: There was once a time when Donkey Kong on the Nintendo Entertainment System was the best video game ever, which lasted until Mortal Kombat on the Sega Genesis was released. There are many things that make Diablo 2 even better than either of these two games, but I'll cut to the chase and give you the number one reason; summon resistance. Summon resistance is a spell that allows the necromancer to raise the magical tolerance of the skeletons and golems he has created. Because some of you must certainly have a shorter attention span than myself, I must in good concience insert a warning here that it will quite likely take you 40 hours to raise your necromancer to level 30; the minimum level for using summon resistance. DON'T GIVE UP! There are several things that will tide you over and remind you of your steady progress towards the all-important goal of protecting your crew with magical resistances, and they are: 3 five minute videos in between acts, and the ability to transform 6 small potions into a rejuvination potion. Do not forget this. In games like Donkey Kong, and Mortal Kombat, there is no way to protect your minions from attacks of ice, fire, and lightning. As I have not myself gotten to level 30, I am uncertain as to whether the skill will protect from poison. When you get poisened in Diablo 2, your character, and your life ball will turn green. Green potions however, do NOT cure poison. Another great potion is the plus 20 to live potion that you will recieve in act 3. Act 3 takes place in a scenic forest with beautiful trees, and gental rain. DO NOT LET THIS SIDETRACK YOU! YOU MUST KEEP WORKING TOWARDS SUMMON RESISTANCE. Word is bond.

Summary: An Enduring Classic
Review: If you are wondering whether to spring for the newly released Diablo 2 or go for the bargain basement original, wonder no longer: go for the original!

Diablo is a classic, character centered computer roleplaying game. Advised by a few computer characters in town, you kill monsters and collect treasure in your quest to destroy Diablo. The story line is straightforward, but gameplay is tactically interesting and challenging.

Once you've played the game by yourself, you can log on to Blizzard ... and find people to play with cooperatively at any time of the day or night. Learning to trust a new friend from halfway around the world can be a real blast! Just be a little careful who you play with - avoid the people who seem to prefer gutter talk, as some of them will target you instead of Diablo.

If you really want to hone your skills, play on Nightmare or Hell difficulties rather than Normal, or arrange duels with other players. The straightforward tactics that work on most computer monsters will often fail against other humans!

Don't worry about the fact that Diablo has been out a few years. The graphics are comparable to those for Blizzard's recently released sequel, Diablo 2 - I personally like the original's graphics better - and the game play, while lacking some of the features of the sequel, is generally more sophisticated and more natural.
