Summary: Jane Jensen does it again
Review: I had high expectations going into GK3... and I was not disappointed. I'm a longtime adventure game fan, and it's been quite a while since I've played one of this calibre. I've always wanted the kind of total freedom and interactivity the 3-D engine provides. I hope Sierra is planning to use it again. Additionally, the storyline is first-rate and well plotted. Gabriel and Grace are very human characters, and the way they relate to each and develop was perhaps my favorite aspect of GK3. Also, quite a beautiful game. If you love a good story, do buy it.

Summary: I'm a GK fan but...
Review: I've found this game less fun than the GK2:the beast within. Graphics are OK, but I prefer movies, like the other one. The plot is quite interesting, and Grace is the perfect couple for Gabe. Enjoy it and let's hope Sierra and Jane Jensen continue this saga.

Summary: Continuing to Improve
Review: This is by far the best Gabriel Knight adventure to come. The puzzles are simple enough to be solved by those who don't like to think, but are difficult enough to keep people involved in the game. The new environment gives a whole new feel to the game and makes the player feel more involved with what is happening than ever. The many twists and characters constantly keep you guessing as to whom the kidnappers could be. I definately recommend this game to anybody who is a fan of the GK series. Let's pray that Sierra doesn't stop with this one.

Summary: An Excellent Sequel To A Gaming Masterpiece
Review: I was apprehensive about buying this game because I do not like 3D graphics. I had the same feeling when Sierra decided to do GK2 in FMV. Although the graphics while moving make you a little dizzy at times the quality of the backgrounds and characters is great. This game was overpowering in its story telling and gameplay. The music and background sounds pull you into the story in such a way that before you know it hours have past during a time that seems like minutes. The story begins with our shadow hunter hero Gabriel Knight searching for a missing heir. He journeys to a mysterious town where he finds out not all is what it seems to be. You are joined in this adventure again by your sidekick/partner Grace, who does most of the research in this mystery. With out giving anything away this game has a grand storyline and the ending wants you begging for more. Jane Jensen has done it again by giving us another chapter in the life of the Shattenjager and his struggles to obtain his destiny. BRAVO :)

Summary: A wonderful game for the cerebrally-inclined
Review: This is an excellent game for those that love supernatural myth, logic puzzles, and mystery games over shoot-em-ups, body counts, and gore. The story has a compelling main plot with interesting subplots all intertwined with a well-told mystery. Knowing a bit of Latin and French helps!

The graphics are fair-to-middlin' but certainly adequate. The story and the characters are the strong points of Gabriel Knight 3. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the game over the Christmas holidays, even if I did resort to cheats for the hardest puzzles.

I also liked that one its two main protagonists is a woman.

The best gimmick of GB3 is SIDNEY, a computer program that -- among other talents -- lets you scan in pictures, fingerprints, and weird documents, and spits out all sorts of interesting things. (I should have such a program.)

I liked this game so much I bought the two that preceded it.

Summary: At last after such a long wait
Review: At last, after such a long wait, Gabriel Knight III is here. It is fun, and I hope the series continues, but Gabriel Knight I is still the best, for atmosphere, characterization, and narrative. Unless your system is the newest available, it is likely that you will have problems running GKIII. I had to borrow a new laptop, because the game kept crashing on my Gateway 2000. The potential of interactive narrative is only being hinted at, though the GK series does a good job of suggesting what can be done in the future. There are still too many silly puzzles that actually detract from the story line. Also, the new age, mystical melange of ideas and themes seems excessive juvenile. Why not give us an interactive Agatha Christie style mystery to solve? Nevertheless, this game was fun, and I'm glad I did wait, however impatiently, for it.

Summary: The Game will not Run
Review: It may be an excellent adventure game, however I cannot get it to work. I have a P700, 16Mb 3D Video Board, 128Mb RAM, and it just locks when I run it! I tried to get help from Sierra's web site, but the game is so new there is nothing published. So, beware, the game may not work on your computer! You may want to give them a little more time to work out the bugs and publish some patches.

Summary: A Contreversial Adventure GAME Mystery...
Review: I have just completed the Game Gabriel Knight 3 Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Dammend and I would like to share my thoughts to all perspective buyers.

First and foremost It is a GAME... Not to be taken seriously by people... I say this because the Adventure mystery revolves around the enigma of "The Holy Grail." This is very contreversial because it touches on the "alternate" theories which are Heretical to the Christian faith. Again not to be taken seriously... I myself am a Devout Roman Catholic who happens to love a good mystery and I did not find the game offensive in my faith.

I have been a follower of the Gabriel Knight mysteries and I was not dissapointed with this third installment. The story is engaging and intelligent. It dares to ask the question which is often left out because of the Religious Taboo surrounding it. It is intended mainly for entertainment and not as a vehicle to bash the faith.

A little known fact to first time players, this game took 2 years to complete. It is a marraige of current 3D animation technology and 2 years of historical reaserch of the enigma in the real life mystery of Renne Le Chateu, a contreversial town located in the old country of France.

The voice acting of Tim Curry who reprises his role a Gabriel Knight is excellent. He brings the character of the New Orlean Cajun back. The cast of characters are great, all having their own agenda and mystery to solve. The sound track is flawless and the location is enticing.

The game engine used was quite revolutionary. I am using a old 233mhz computer and it still ran smoothly with the aid of my old voodo card.

I highly recommend this game to Mature and Open minded players. To my fellow Catholics out there.... It is just a game.

Summary: There Is Not A Word Good Enough To Describe It!
Review: If I told you it was amazing, brilliant, excellent, or even perfect, you still wouldn't understand how great this game is. I have been a Gabe fan from the beginning and this tops them all. I know, it did take a while to come out (almost a year after it's given release date), but it was worth it. I've already played it 4 times (on 4 different computers, with no bugs!) and I want to play it again. One disappointment though, I didn't take 4 years of Spanish to play a French Gabriel Knight game. Maybe next time...

Summary: A Slow-Moving Disappointment
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the first two Gabriel Knight adventures, which in my opinion rank as the two best computer games of all time. The third game, however, does not measure up to the quality of the first two, and is probably the most disappointing game of the year as a result.

The reasons for my disappointment with this game are many. First, the storyline is so complex and dense that's it's very difficult to follow. Furthermore, the game is bound to offend those with orthodox Christian beliefs. I don't wish to give the story away, but Jesus Christ is a character in the game and those who are more conservative or orthodox in their faith will not appreciate the way he is presented.

Second, the characters in this game are much more superficial and uninteresting than in the previous two games. Essentially, the cast consists of a bunch of stereotypical European characters (pompous British tourists, snobby Frenchpeople, etc.). Even Grace and Gabriel, the two main characters, become caricatures of themselves in this game (with Tim Curry giving an absolutely horrendous vocal performance). I've always felt that the best aspect of the Gabriel Knight series was the excellent characterization, but that quality is definitely lacking here. By the end of the game, I didn't care how the relationship between Gabriel and Grace turned out because I ceased to care about either one of them. Gabriel was just too jokey and Grace was too annoying and grating.

Third, the graphics of the game are blocky and uninteresting. Yes, they're three dimensional, but they lack the beauty, color and style of the earlier two games.

Lastly, and most importantly, the game is BORING. You're stuck in a small, uninteresting town in France and that's pretty much where you stay the entire game. The game can be very difficult, so the pace is very slow and frustrating.

What especially adds to the boredom factor is a new feature called SIDNEY, which is the name for Grace's computer. In order to complete the game, the player must spend an inordinate amount of time sitting at a desk and solving a bunch of puzzles within SIDNEY (as opposed to actually moving around and interacting with characters, which is infinitely more enjoyable). The presence of SIDNEY was a huge mistake that made this game much less enjoyable than the earlier two.

I hope the fourth installment of the series is better than this one. However, this game is so weak that it may hurt the chances for a sequel. That would be a tragic shame, since I do love adventure games, and I would hate to see this franchise die.
