Summary: wicked fun
Review: amazing game to say. i love seeing the twisted versions of disney classics come to life. this is the first game that i had to play on my computer because i use my playstation for mostpart, but since this is a computer only title, i had to cave in and get it. even for todays standards, it has great scenery and a large enough variety of enemies that keep the gameplay interesting. the dark appeal of the game drew me in because running around stabbing card guards with a large knife was just morbid enough to make me happy. maybe sooner or later they will do a wizard of oz game like they did this.

as for the difficulty, this game starts becoming frustratingly hard, but the save menu allows you to save at any point in the game. if you are in the middle of a boss fight and you don't want to finish it, you can save. there are great weapons like demon dice, jacks, and throwing cards. this game is alot larger then i first thought. fun enough to keep you wanting to play.

Summary: Wow
Review: I had a little trouble installing this game, but once it started working, I knew it was worth it. I get annoyed by most disney movies, but this definitely saved Alice for me and put it into a new light. The main character has attitude, but also loves her friends. She's trying to straighten things out in her head after a terrible incident, by fixing Wonderland. Many familiar Alice characters are there, and they're all much more interesting now. The combat is fairly simple, the gameplay can be challenging, the music is nice in the background, and the story is engaging. This game disturbs you at times but in a good way. Get this game if you're into darker plots.

Summary: Wonders and Terrors
Review: Poor, poor Alice. Your parents killed in a fire, you are now trapped in an insane asylum with only your madness to keep you company. Even your dreams of Wonderland have become corrupted by a fractured mind, old friends becoming terrifying menaces and familiar places now dank and mysterious. What was once a place of wonder now becomes a life-threatening journey into your own psychosis.

Clever, wicked Alice, filled with malice, to bring all your new toys into Wonderland with you. From the simple knife (for hacking or throwing) to a lethal deck of cards to an explosive Jack-in-the-Box to the devastating Blunderbuss, the array of toys with which you defend yourself is simply delightful, in a dangerous sort of way. Your foes are many, and of a wide variety, including the brutish Card Guards, malevolent chess pieces, frightful Imps, a giant Mad Hatter, the twisted Jabberwock, and even the Red Queen herself. It's a good thing that you came to this new Wonderland prepared for some deadly play. There is much of it to be had.

But, dear Alice, don't you know that all your old friends are here as well? There's the old Rabbit, of course, as obsessed as ever with his pocket watch and his tardiness. And the Caterpillar, who seems to have descended further into his own addictions. And even the dear Cheshire Cat is here, accompanying you on your journey always ready to offer his toothsome grin and a word of wry advice. Your friends may be a little more twisted, a little more frightening than before, but they're all still here. At first, anyway.

This isn't the Wonderland you once knew, Alice. It has become beautiful and terrible in your absence. Once-peaceful landscapes are now frightening and treacherous, slightly maddening in their off-kilter perspective. Voices, once comforting and friendly, are now laced with a tone of threat and malice. Music, once sprightly, is strange and otherwordly. You must be constantly aware of your surroundings, as you can be suddenly attacked from almost anywhere.

This is a fight for your sanity, Alice. For your very life. Be careful, be strong, be brave... and you may just escape this strange new Wonderland with your mind intact.

Summary: Alice is all grown up.
Review: There is no rest for this tormented soul. This game had a very gothic feel to it. Every character was unique. Alice was the grimmest of all characters. Some people didn't like how this game ended but I found it completed the story. I found it most humorous at the Load, Save & Delete screen. Te letters read LSD. I wonder if that was intentional.

Summary: A WONDERFUL interpretation of the dark side of Wonderland!
Review: American McGee's Alice is an incredible depiction of Wonderland after a horrible tragedy in Alice's life. If you loved Lewis Carroll's novel (as I do) then you will have a blast roaming through this eerily familiar world. The challenges are difficult, the plot is twisted, and the characters are unforgettable. Some people argue that the game is very linear, and if they mean that you simply run around and solve puzzles, then it's about as linear as Tomb Raider. Still, having to time your jumps so you don't get crushed, solving puzzles that determine your next move (especially when on the chessboard), and battling with fantastic weapons doesn't seem so linear to me. Even when you've finished the game, you'll want to play again on a harder level, where you'll find EXTRA challenges to overcome. So sit back, have some tea, and brace yourself for a wild ride with this game.
