Rating: Summary: Breathtaking Review: This game was the best. I loved this game and have played (and beaten!) it several times w/ and w/o a hint book. The movies, the storyline, and the graphics were excellent. It really set the stage for Riven.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing Review: This game is the most interesting and complicated game i have ever played. You start the game in a strange world with nothing other than yourself and un-ending questions. From there you must uncover various clues from scraps of paper and other such things that lead you on to discovering new and exciting ways, but if you dont get something important all will go wrong. I consider myself a rather intelligent person--and all my scores agree-- but i suppose this game must have some secret you have to unlock before you really understand what is going on. Many people have said how much they loved it and all the different levels, but unless you find something that i havent yet, i doubt you will get very far at all. Very interesting and still fun to run around in the weird world anyways--but beware, unless you are very intent on going all the way in this game, you may get lost and be very disappointed in it....
Rating: Summary: A thinking person's game! Review: It is the year 2000, I finally played this amazing game. Myst was released 7 years ago. It is timeless. I was able to solve the game without hints, so don't be too intimidated! I'm not that smart. Like many other reviewers have stated, you don't play Myst, you experience it. When you sit down to play, prepare yourself as you would before sitting down with a good book, brew a fresh cup of tea, grab your notepad, and allow yourself to be swept into the story. The glory in this game is to appreciate its beauty. It is "cyber-art". I can't wait to play "Riven" and "Myst3".
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: loved it - can't wait for another like it.
Rating: Summary: More puzzling than a Ribuk's Cube! Review: What what game I'm describing. It's old, it's puzzling, and it's a blockbuster game. It's, you guessed it, Myst. And that is probably the easiest puzzle you'll get concerning Myst, too. Since it is a popular game that was released a quite a long time ago, you've probably heard of it by now. I'll just say this one thing: If you're deaf or impatient, AVOID. There is a puzzle that involves matching piano tones...heck, even if you're NOT deaf, it's still quite a puzzler! But don't fret...you can beat this game in FIVE MINUTES if you know how, and it can be found in the many game walk-throughs of the Internet. After all, with the difficulty of THESE puzzles, rest assured, you'll be looking for one!
Rating: Summary: One of the best Review: This is without doubt one of the best computer games I ever played. The consept is totally different from any other game. The graphics are amazing. The story is incridible too. For the first time in computer gaming you actually FEEL you are the person in the game. Simply one of the best.
Rating: Summary: Only for people with a lot of patience! Review: Myst is a very beautifully designed game, with such rich sound and landscape graphics that at times you could swear it was all real. However, it is a completely reinforced sprung steel hard! Nothing on Earth can describe how mind-bogglingly eye-crossingly impossible this game is. If you are a person who likes being stuck at a single location for hours on end, or being in more knots than a boy-scout's first guyrope then this game is for you. If you aren't this sort of person then BUY A DIFFERENT GAME!
Rating: Summary: Not as good as Riven Review: This is a great game, although the first time I played it, I was playing it on a computer that absolutely SUCKED. However, I have since gotten a decent computer, and Myst is so cool. It's hard as a butt, though, and it took me and my friend about 100 billion hours to beat it. If you like a challenge, go for this game.
Rating: Summary: A must-play classic. Review: This game is incredible. I first played this game when it debuted in 1993, and I was blown away by the stunning graphics. Now, in 2000, the graphics look dull and primitive, but the gameplay is still ahead of its time. It isn't incredibly difficult (compared to its sequel Riven) but it's very MYSTerious, thought provoking, and just plain entertaining (and sometimes frustrating) to play. Myst isn't considered a classic for no reason.
Rating: Summary: Great looking, interesting...but so CONFUSING! Review: I like this game...i really do, but i just don't get it. I'll agree that the concept is wonderful, and the graphics are great, and the story is stellar...but geez, i just don't get a lot of it! I love books, and eat up logic puzzles and games, but i just don't like this game enough to try to wade my way through the absolutely too complex world that you're supposed to journey though to do...what? I think that's what urks me the most...i have no idea what i'm supposed to be doing half the time...and somehow that diminishes my enjoyment of the game. I'm not certain whether to recommend this game or not. If you can get a chance to play it without buying it, i'd go that route, then if you like it you can buy it, but if you don't you don't have to waste your money.
