Summary: Crashes and bugs.
Review: I had all kinds of errors with this game... you should buy it on the XBOX or some other system, not for the PC. I had problems installing it, installation takes very long with what, 4 CDs, and at the very end I had to repeat the whole installation process. Then I updated to the only patch available, and the game started, but the introduction cut scenes had major clipping problems, and, then, as soon as you get to the point where you are actually to start playing the game, it crashes to a blue screen, locking up the PC. I'm running Windows XP, and yes, I've been through all the troubleshooting steps, Atari is trying to pass the ball, all my drivers are updated, and every other DirectX game on my system runs flawlessly, but this one is seriously buggy. If you have to get if for the PC, wait a few months and hopefully Atari will come out with some more patches.

Summary: ...
Review: A slipshod, disappointing attempt at milking a franchise to video game form. Graphics are "blah". Extra film footage is mediocre; certainly nothing to write home about. Driving/shooting levels are pathetic, and the last levels are an anti-climactic joke. The publishers and developers should be paying you to play this game.

Hardcore Matrix fans only need apply. Everyone else, stay very very far away.

Review: This game was hot. When I got it was the coolest. You could jump kick and do the best moves. I would reccomend you get it on sale though.

Summary: Disappointing
Review: Like the movie, this game had great potential; however, I was disappointed with both. The plot of the game is entertaining enough, and bullet time combat could have made for a great game -if it had been done right. Instead combat is awkward and mechanical. After a few battles it becomes apparant that the AI is completely predictable and the same button sequences will win every time.

GamePlay - 2/5
StoryLine - 4/5

I recommend playing this game will all of the cheats enabled so that you can get to all of the cinematic scenes more quickly.

In summary, not worth 50 buck, but 20 would be a fair price.

Summary: good and bad
Review: Enter the matrix is a great game; if you have a good computor. it has a few graphic gliches. as soon as you start to throw punches, it becomes very choppy. i would suggest using the unlimited fucus cheat. (see gamefaqs.com for others also) focus makes it much smoother. all in all, if you're a pickey gamer, this game is not for you. oterwise, have at it. overall a great game

Summary: Completely Awful. Even for a Matrix Fan.
Review: This game could have been a mediocre Max Payne ripoff and I would have loved it. But no. This is just one game in a continuing trend where the top priority is ease of portability between PC and console platforms. But you can't just recompile and hope for the best... playcontrol, font aliasing, video rendering all are different on the PC.

But why bother when you've got such a hot commodity as The Matrix? All you need is a name and you can start selling hot steaming piles of CD-ROMs and it'll sellsellsell. The play control works just like the console... which is bad. You run at top speed through everything, just hit random buttons and hope that some good combo comes out of it. I'd like to say I got to try the whole "focus" thing, but whenever I'd hit the focus key the video would keep switching to my desktop every other frame!

And I'm not an amateur PC user. I've got a stock Athlon/GeForce3/WinXP system that's been running great through all my other titles. But the graphics had completely terrible bugs, the models were completely lacking in polys, the levels were altogether pretty drab, and don't even get me started on the little green "typeface" that pops out of people when you shoot them.

Yes, I installed the latest patch. And yes, latest video drivers and DirectX. Doesn't help. Still looks/plays awful.

So basically I just bought a ...CD full of AVI's with film plot. At least they were nice enough just to plunk Divx files right on my drive, so things aren't a total loss. The video: neat. The game: absolutely horrible.

Summary: how bad is this game?
Review: There were all sorts of glitches in the game i had to go to my task manager to quit it. the whole thing is junk. you want a good game? go with any of the tom clancy franchise.

Summary: Played better
Review: Plays like the console port that it is. Turning around, even with the mouse sensitivity maxed is sluggish at best, very detrimental during battle or even rounding corners. The "Focus Flash" turns what could have been a cool effect into a seizure session. Better control of the camera angles would have been helpful, as would have being able to choose where (in the game AND in memory) to save. The Hacking is a nice idea and well done but I found the gameplay to be annoying and monotonous. The storyline nicely compliments the movie but overall I found "Enter the Matrix" highly disappointing.

Summary: good game, good end movie, little dissapointment
Review: i had very high hopes for this game to begin with. the graphics on the in game movies were a little disipoiting. there is no cross hairs in the whole game unless you are fireing from a car or zoomed in. however that is not a big deal when you are in focus mode because since you are in focus it should go right to the guy. when out of focus it does not go directly to the guy but wont altogether miss every round.

i did think that the makers had the computer as an after-thought because the game does not take full advantage with the mouse, but they can fix that with a patch.

i will add that i hate the zoom in job that he makers did. it is horrible. even with the sniper rifle it is bad. that is probably the worst feature in the game.

the best feature of the game, by far, are the real movies. they are really good. they explain the movie better. and by far the end movie is the best i have seen in any computer game. it would be worth buying the game just to see that movie.

so buy the game and enjoy!
