Summary: This Game is so cool
Review: This is the most awesome expansion ive seen. The Riven has scary scenes example- underground, and the most beautiful scenes like the lake and such. But this game is very hard you must remember every thing you see or hear if you dont you may be missing a big part of the game. I recomend a notebook to keep every suspicious thing you see cause if you dont you'll have to go back to where you found the clue if you remember where it was.

Review: Riven, the sequel to Myst, is a great game. I got hooked and played it waaaay too much for the first month! The graphics and sound effects are great, and it is good that the Cyan boyz added living creatures. Learning more about D'Ni history was great, and this game was an overall success with me and my friends. I like Riven at least as much as Myst, and hope the next Myst game is this good!

Review: Riven is a good game with beautiful graphics. I couldn't get my computer to read the Riven CDs each time I was asked to swap CDs. The only way I could get it to work was to look for some hacks on the internet and install all 5 CDs to my hard drive.

Review: i did this puzzle game again right after having finished exile. both with the puzzles and the graphics, this game is a product of genius. although the colors are not vivid like exile (they tend to blue and grey), the ambience is better. looking at that dinosaur cove could lower your blood pressure with its placid tranquility. riven (and myst) has a lived in look that is missing from exile, such as gehns office, his lab, and the village. exile is more sterile. the characterizations of gehn and catherine i thought were better than saavedro, both in writing and in person. with respect to puzzles, just getting around is a challenge. even though most of the islands can be approached from 2 or 3 directions. the puzzles are ingenious without being too hard; the moiety hideout can be solved by two different approaches. my only hangup was getting out of that cage in gehns office, where i was killed. another point where riven was better than exile was no long pauses after clicking, and i didnt miss the ability to pan. in summary, i still consider riven the best game i have ever done. note: despite the opinion of prior reviews, you can like both riven and deus ex.

Summary: The best and most intriguing game I have ever played!
Review: I love this game! I'm still working on it. Some of the puzzles are hard, but once you get into the ideas (you feel great when you solve the puzzles) it's like you open the door to a new world. I had help with MYST, because my brother played it first. I bought this game preowned, and once I started playing, I didn't know why someone would sell it! The graphics are amazing, and if you are persistant, you will discover that nothing is there for no reason. I gave this 5 stars, because the themes of the game are 5 and 5-pointed stars! You will really get into this game, unless you like shooting people games. I couldn't stop myself from playing this, and my brothers don't seem to mind, because they are amazed too. I would recommend this to anyone who thinks that they are up to the challenge, and who are confident about their IQ! It is much more exciting than MYST, and you will get addicted quickly. Don't buy a guide book, because then the whole point of the game, the discovery, is spoiled. I am still playing this game and I can't wait to see what is through the next door...Later... This game is so amazing! It definitely is the best game that I have ever played. I got stuck in the last couple of hours of gameplay (the ceremonial chamber puzzle and the marble puzzle), so I had to buy this "hint" book, which gave way too much away. Well, I finished the game in two hours, and figured out how completely wonderful the experience had been. I was surprised to find out how dark the story was. I would never have thought that Gehn would hang his prisoners and feed them to the "fish"! That upset me, but the rest of the game made up for that. I recommend this game to everyone, unless you want to shoot people (violent games). Riven was so much better than Myst, and I can't wait to get Exile.

Review: "Riven" continues the story where "Myst left off, as the man we left in the beginning is now desparately searching for his lost love, in a world that seems to have been created out of mayhem. Once again, we are required to think beyond our general instincts and imaginations, and pick up those small clues we believe to be insignificant. Once again, we are subjected to the same lush and beautiful worlds that completely envelope us in mystery, only this time you may get a slight feeling that you are not alone. The graphics are much more advanced and mature (it took five disks to create the game), and the inventiveness that goes into their creation is astouding and beautifully presented in this masterful gaming experience which will not quickly be forgotten. The mystery is still there, and that's what's most important. Not to be missed!

Review: Everybody sais this game is tricky. I must say this was harder than MYST, but I love there games. The graphics were so amazing. At some point you would feel scared because no one is there to help you. You are deserted in this game. I had the soulutions gide, but I only used the part that just told you what you had to acomplish. If you use to much of the book it will be not much fun because you will rely on the book so much. I liked how Ghen has his own "age". All of the diffrent adventures are difficult. When you first start the game, and you look around, it may seem overwhelming to you, but things will unfold. I thought learning about the Dn'i numbers were pretty neat. What the secret of this game is, is to always take notes and save the game. You never know what will happen. You must also have patience to finish this game because it will get very hard at times. When those times happen, it would be a good idea to look at the hint book. I would recomend the stratagy guide because it will tell you what you will have to do to go on to the next level. MYST did not have the great suspense as RIVEN does, but it sure has the adventure. I would strongly suggest that you compleat MYST before you move on because some of the stuff will not make any sense. I have just ordered MYST 3:EXILE-COLLECTER'S EDITION. Review: I really loved Riven. After playing Myst, I was so excited to get my hands on Riven. The graphics were just as beautiful as Myst. In fact, in Riven, I got a little jumpy at times. There are parts of the game where you know you arent alone. The story line was fantastic and the puzzles also. Adventure gamers, you have got to own this one. Infact...own them both. You wont regret it.

Review: Riven is one of the most spectacular computer games to come along in a very long time. It's the sequel to Myst, which was a "got to have" on everyones' list. This game has mysterious moving rooms, time travel and secret passageways. To be successful requires precise timing and a good memory (or note-taking). As my title says, it's the best thing to come around in a while. So many adventures, so many puzzles and so many traps to steer clear. There's this one part where you..........................................................................., see what I mean. It's so great!!

Summary: The computer game for people who don't like computer games.
Review: What more can I say that hasn't already been said about this incredible game. I'm not into computer games and only bought this because the store wouldn't give me a refund on a returned item. It sat on the shelf, unopened, for a month - then I opened the box and my life wasn't the same for the next week (or so). The immediate thing I liked about Riven was its first person perspective - no figure or character to control just an environment to explore as if you were really there. Secondly, there's no instruction or rule book. This game doesn't patronize the user - you are dropped into a strange and exotic world and it's up to you to discover why you're there and what you have to do. It's this journey of discovery that's so addictive. The superior quality of the graphics and sound just add to the effect - you MUST play Riven with the lights turned down and with a decent pair of headphones (I literally jumped out of my chair when my partner tapped me on the shoulder!) I would also suggest avoiding the online hint sites - the thrill of Riven is solving the puzzles after being stumped for hours - when you crack the solution to entering the Moiety Age (Circle of Stones) it'll make the hair on the back of your neck stand up. If you read a lot, you'll love this game. It requires thought and concentration and patience - take plenty of notes, examine everything, including the notebooks (there's a lot of reading in Riven). Those with short attention spans will get bored with Riven very quickly, but for me, I lived and breathed its world for hours (much to the annoyance of my partner). The solution to one of the puzzles came to me whilst shopping! One final note - play Myst first. It's a bit of a letdown after Riven, and it will prime you for this superior sequel. Next up: Myst III: Exile - I cannot wait!
