Rating: Summary: Unchallenging and silly Review: Sanitarium may have some interesting locations, but that's all it has going for it. I only played through to find out what was really going on, and, believe me, it wasn't worth it. Just think of the most cliched ending a game like this could possibly have, and you know how it turns out. During the game, the puzzles are so simple that they didn't even feel like puzzles. Playing Hide and Go Seek? That's a real challenge. The longest I spent on any puzzle was when I knew I had to dig a hole, I just couldn't find the danged shovel. It was right out in plain view, but the detail of the scenery caused me not to notice it. I would only recommmend Sanitarium to those who desperately crave a good-looking adventure game and don't care about the plot or puzzles.
Rating: Summary: Sanitarium Review: This is by far one of my favorite games. It was challaging as well as rewarding. All the clues are in the game if you look. I hate games where you must have the hint book in order to play the game. I wish there were more games like this one on the market today.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME GAME! Review: Sanitarium is possibly the greatest game ever created. It has an in-depth, unpredictable storyline with lots of interesting (and usually bizarre) characters. Switching identities inside your mind can give a feeling of insight and makes the game interaction much easier. All in all, this game is as close to perfection as they come.
Rating: Summary: Quite a change for a game Review: I thought this game was very interesting, and quite a change from your usual role playing game. I had a lot of fun playing it. The puzzles can be challenging, though not extremely hard to solve. It can be very creepy, but that's the fun of it. This is some game you should really try.
Rating: Summary: Bizarre... Review: Sanitarium is, well, a bizarre game, which is what probably everyone buying it hopes for. It is also quite fun and sometimes more than a little creepy. However, some of the most distracting aspects of this game are the voice actors. Most of them, including the main character, are terrible. This doesn't ruin the game by any means, but it certainly diminished my enjoyment. Further, the chapters are short, and it can feel like you've gone to another level before you even began the last one. The game is, however, fun and unpredictable.
Rating: Summary: I Want More Games Like This! Review: Sanitarium is the idyllic horror/comic-book/mystery game. Each level is different from the next, and you never know what to expect. One moment your character is a lonely amnesiac suffering from frightening flashbacks, the next, you're a little girl wandering around a freakish circus, the next, you're a monstrous cyclops in a slimy hive, trying to escape from a Fuhrer-like leader. The graphics are wonderful and the story is choppy but fascinating. Some of the puzzles can be frustrating - But this game is definitely worth your money. It's very intense and absolutely enraptured me. I haven't been able to find any other games like it, and I wish I could... Ah well.
Rating: Summary: Excellent game, highly recommended, but before you buy it... Review: Sanitarium was an extremelly involving game, and I devoted myself to it, greatly anticipating the ending, where all of the unusual scenarios come together to form a picture...while the ending was not as bad as many say, the final puzzle definitely is truly wretched. While not as difficult (sadly) as most adventure games that I have played, it IS one of the most involving. As I said, this game is not very difficult...to some of you that may be a good thing, and may enhance the experience, while for other experienced adventure gamers this will be a definite downside. I was only stuck at a few points, and then not for long. I was never really frustrated - a good thing of course - but then I never had the awesome sense of accomplishment that comes from solving a truly difficult puzzle, ala Rama or The Last Express (though I believe this to be a much better game than both of those) If you're looking to be frightened by this game, it may happen, but only at a couple of points, and then more grossed out than scared - can you say Silence of the Lambs? ICK! (though I love that movie, own the DVD) One last thing - if you have a lower speed CD drive, you may want to hold off on Sanitarium until you've upgraded it. The designers sadly made the installation size only 70 mb (I think, maybe a bit more) which is much too little for a 3 cd game in my opinion. I had rather long load times (up to a minute) with my 40x drive. Of course, you could just copy the cds to your hard drive and hack the game registry...if you know what you're doing of course, though its not too hard to find a web site that'll tell you how I'm sure.
Rating: Summary: Riveting Review: I thought the plot of this game was excellent. One scenario flowed into the next, and the end tied them all together. It also kept me wondering what was really going on, if I was sane or not. Graphics were good, and so were the characters. The music got a little annoying, but it always does. This was a pleasure to play, and I was disappointed when I finished it.
Rating: Summary: One of my favorite games Review: This game blends fantasy with human nature. Some of the episodes can seem a little hokey, but at the end you realize that they are all kind of symbols for Max's real life. Altogether, this is a "mood" game- it sets a mood and puts you into one. IN conclusion. . it's great! Play it!
