Summary: Very Mediocre.
Review: Halflife. Hitman. Rogue Spear. Unreal Tournament. Deus Ex. When I think of first person shooters I think of all of these games. A great FPS must have the graphics, gameplay, and action to get your heart rate up during a firefight, but also the complexity to make you think to solve puzzles. No One Lives Forever is an extremely disappointing FPS, and would have succeeded as any other type of game. I am insulted when I hear this game labeled as a FPS; placed into the ranks beside all of my favorites such as Halflife, Hitman, etc. Sure, the in-game dialogue is GREAT. I've never heard anything that is so close to the movies. The plot is also something to marvel at-it, too, feels like a movie. My question is this, however: if you want something that feels like a movie, why not just rent a movie?! Honestly, the dialogue drags on for minutes on end, which is a lot for a PC game, and even longer for an FPS. A quality FPS is made up of quick, plot-necessary exchanges between the main character and an informant who will help you to solve a puzzle or provide important information. The characterization is good, but I never really felt like I got into the game. Most FPS games I am able to finish in a weekend, and I play non-stop because I simply can't bring myself to save and quit mid-level. This game took me a great deal longer, not because it was that much harder, but because it drags. I felt unconnected and truly could not slip into the role of Agent Cate Archer (aside from the whole different sex thing). If you ask me, this game is overrated, overhyped, and just not a good FPS. Get into the Halflife series or Deus Ex and you'll see what a real FPS is all about.

Summary: Another FPS...
Review: I'll admit that my favorite games are usually not in the FPS category. It's not surprising then, to find out that I played this game and figured out after about 30 minutes of playing that this is just another one of those games.

I'll admit that the theme is original, for a FPS, and that some of the levels are slightly intuitive, but the graphics didn't wow me. The enemies were also very easy to pick off.

I've seen Austin Powers at least 20 times, and laugh every time. NOLF attempts to provide the same humor, but with less intelligence and wit.

If you have an extra 50 bucks lying around, go for it. I'll take the buggy "Giants: Citizen Kabuto" over this game any day.

Summary: Something different in gaming.
Review: This is the first game that actaully made me laugh. The characters and storylines are a mix of old bond films and Austin Powers and the gaming pace is fluid and consistently hilarious.Thank god somebody developed a first person with a sense of humor. Not to give anything away but there are quite a few twists and turns and you can drive a snowski to motorcyles and the first person shooting is pretty fun too.Buy this game because of its cliched characters and the great comedic gameplay.

Summary: BRILLIANT !
Review: I've played this game almost every day for the past nine months. It's awesome. Austin Powers meets Deus Ex. Very funny, excellent graphics, excellent voice and music. Also such variety of locations, it NEVER gets boring. I'll tell ya what, you REALLY gets your money's worth of entertainment here. If you don't get this game, you are really missing out. I LOVED it.

Summary: A hilarious. thrilling, adventure.
Review: No One Lives Forever is incredible. Not many games kep me interested and amazed throughout the entire game, but NOLF does it. The creators are absolute geniuses to come up with something so thrilling and so darn hilarious. I found myself laughing the whole entire way through. The villians seem as if they came out of an Austin Powers movie. The puzzles are complicated enough to keep you busy for quite some time. One of the best parts abit NOLF, besides the graphics, storyline, etc. is the length. It takes many hours to get through it as their are 15 missions, but each mission has several scenes. The companion book is good to have, but use it only if you need it. I used it the first time and I'm going to start all over from the beginning without it. Great game. Looking forward to the sequel.

Summary: I Hate First-Person Shooters, But I Love This Game!
Review: I am a tried and true ADVENTURE gamer, and I typically hate first-person shooters, especially the ultra-gory ones. (As a point of reference, my favorite games include Sam & Max, Grim Fandango, the Leisure Suit Larry series, and the Monkey Island series.)

However, I made a break from my usual "girly" games (as my boyfriend calls them) to try NOLF out, and I'm so glad I did.

I must admit, I just got this game recently and I have only played one level so far, but I was so enthusiastic about the little I've seen so far that I wanted to convey that this is a game for most anyone.

It has all of the traits I love in a good computer game: it's colorful, it's funny, and it turns your life into one big waiting game where you're constantly longing to get back in front of your computer so that you can play this game!

Granted, even to my untrained eye the game sometimes looks a little blocky (especially close-ups of the characters' faces), but after 5 minutes you're so engrossed that you don't even notice it anymore. In general, I think the graphics are perfectly satisfactory, and certainly do not detract from the game.

If you're looking for a change of pace from your usual repetoire of games, I would recommend you give NOLF a try. It was money well-spent.

Summary: Cool Game
Review: I found this game to be challenging and fun. I have a 850 mhz 256 mb Ram ATI Rage Mobility Video and at times the game was still slow and choppy. It seemed this way whenever the graphics became intense with too many characters or objects. The story is great, I even found myself laughing many times during the dialog scenes.

Summary: Best FPS
Review: I have never played such a great FPS. The AI are smart and funny. The story is funny and movie like..... which is good. I would have never believed the turnout of the story. If you are into spy movies/games this is a must. Think of it as a smart investment.

Summary: More than just a great FPS!
Review: This game only attracted my attention by getting some rather enthusiastic reviews from my online buddies, and when I had actually bought the title I was more than suprised by it's constant action and sarcastic humor.

The First Person Shooter, or FPS, has always been my genre of choice when coming to PC games. The gameplay and style intrigued me, but as I played more of them they surfaced with the same aspects: kill lots and lots of bad guys! Of course something like this would be considered entertaintment to those who've never played a REAL game (say, Half-Life), and that a more deep plot and perhaps even some character would possibly enjoy this. But NOLF is so different upon comparison, it's not hard to come to the conclusion that it may be the Game of The Year.

Driven by action and the cliched 60's throwback of bright colors and wild music, NOLF carries on were a James Bond pun left off (I guess the comparison between this and Austin Powers doesn't go without reason). Add some specatular AI, great textures, awesome level design, top-notch voice-acting, and a theme song (I know, weird, but you'd have to play the game ;), and it would most probably appeal to a much larger audience than it would to that other FPS, HITMAN. Even when you shoot at some of the bad guys, I was surprised to watch them dash my gunfire rather than running towards me (and screaming "Watch out for 'da bullets!" hehe, quite entertaining!

This is THE game to buy this year! (unless you have yourself a nice litle copy of SACRIFICE installed ;)

Summary: Excellent FPS!
Review: This is not your standard FPS. Gone are the days of "kill the monsters, find the door." The missions in this game are so varied, you'll feel like you stepped into a James Bond film. This game has an excellent story that seems plucked right out of any great spy movie. It has the gadgets, the guns, and of course, the girls. Zany villians, who include an overweight big game hunter, a Russian assassin, a disgruntled oprea singer, and a demolition-loving Scotsman are just some of the foes you'll face. This is a standard tuxedo-martini spy game (with just a dash of cheesiness), but this time, the roles are reversed. You take control of Cate Archer, female superspy. You are given unique weapons, incredible gadgets, and a hapless partner who wears pink and green polyester shirts. The graphics were beautiful enough to astound me. (Many things do that to me) The reason I gave this only four stars is because of the system requirements. Buyers with slower systems beware! This game is not meant for you. To get optimal performance out of this game, you practically need a supercomputer. To sum this up, if you have the system, and the dough, buy this game fast!
