Rating: Summary: It was fun¿ Review: ...for about 3.5 hours, then I just tossed it in the back ofmy closet, please, I beg you, for the human race, this game isn'tworth [the price], it's not even worth it if it was for free! The graphics and gameplay are old (1993 style), puzzles are difficult and also a sad introduction to the game!
Rating: Summary: 7th Guest Review: Amazing puzzles. I used a walkthrough, so some were very easy. They kinda made up for others. After going through all but the last two, I realized that I needed to start again and complete each puzzle successfully in order to reach the last two puzzles. After so many attempts on a puzzle, it no longer allows you access, successful or not. So I did a save before each puzzle, in case it took me more attempts than the game thought was necessary. What a challenger. Hope the 11th Hour is as good. Good graphics, color, audio.
Rating: Summary: cant find the game any where Review: i heard a lot about it but cant seem to buy it any where if i ever get one i will write again
Rating: Summary: Mind boggling! Review: I Played this game when it first came out. I was usually an "action" gamer, but this game got me addicted trying to solve those damn puzzles for hours. The good part was finding out what was going to happen next. I just bought the sequal. I hope its as good or better than the first.
Rating: Summary: A creepy classic Review: I really liked this game, it had just the right mixture of subtle creepiness and intrigue to keep me interested. As it's an older game the graphics might not look impressive by today's standards, but the store more than makes up for it.The premise is that Stauf, a former criminal turned rich toymaker has invited people to his mansion and offered whomever can solve his puzzles whatever they desire. It's hinted to you that none of the guests were ever seen from again so not only do you have the mystery of the mansion itself to solve but you also have the mystery of finding out what happened to everybody to figure out as well. The interface is clean and easy to use. You wander around in a very Myst-like first person perspective and your cursor changes whenever you wave it over something you can look closer at, a movie you can watch, or a puzzle to solve... it's nice to have this little detail instead of clicking madly on the screen trying to find the 'magic pixel' that will take you further into the game. The music by The Fat Man is also very well done (In fact you can buy the soundtrack right here on Amazon!)and adds a lot to the game. Overall it has just the right mixture of intrigue as you watch Stauf set the guests against each other and play his little psychological games, and puzzles as you progress your way deeper and deeper into the mansion. For the price, you get a lot. And its worth it.
Rating: Summary: cant find the game any where Review: I remember we had this game (it must have been the old version) back when I was in 1st to 3rd grade, or about 7 to 5 years ago. It had a lot of puzzles and the last one was the hardest. It was a really long game, kind of like King's Quest in how it took days to weeks to months to complete. I do remember that it was a great game though. I loved it. I definetly wish I could play it again.

Rating: Summary: Tedious and anticlimactic Review: I was so happy to find a PC game based in a haunted house that featured lots of puzzles to solve. It sounded like it would be fun and spooky. It seemed to come highly recommended. So I bought it. I was bitterly disappointed with the game when I finished playing. I don't really have a complaint with the graphics. The game came out in the early 90's after all. The music, however, has to go. Sometimes it was so loud I could barely hear what the characters were saying. It doesn't serve to set the mood that you're in a creepy haunted house. It's just someone playing a mad synthesizer. I had to turn it off, it got so annoying. I also wish I could have turned off Stauf's commentary. At one point, you're journeying through a maze. Each time you hit a dead end, he says, "feeling...lonely?" I swear I heard him say it 50 times. I wanted to scream. The storyline of the game sounds interesting enough, but it doesn't really go anywhere. The ending left me feeling confused. The outside of the box says I am the 7th Guest. Throughout the game you see the ghost of a young boy who is referred to as the 7th Guest. So, is that boy supposed to be me? Am I supposed to be a ghost in the house, myself? Then why should I have to solve all these puzzles to figure out what happened, when it happened to ME? And that's another thing, the puzzles are awful. With most of them, you don't even get a hint as to what you're supposed to do to solve the puzzle. A couple of them were interesting, but overall I found them tedious. Definitely not the fun challenge I had anticipated.
Rating: Summary: Some fun puzzles, but not much else Review: I would have given it two and a half stars, but I'll have to give it two. There are some fun puzzles in this game, but it lacks a lot. One -- some of the puzzles are badly unoriginal. The worst example of this is a player piano that imitates the game "Simon", where you have to remember the tune and play it back. Other puzzles almost repeat themselves Two -- the puzzles do not interact with the game play at all. The game is basically just a walkthrough movie, with puzzles here and there to solve so that you can make it to the next part of the movie. In this respect, it is somewhat like the game "Fool's Errand" Three -- the animation moves too darn slow in the puzzles. When you click on a move, the characters or icons on the screen move annoyingly slow. Overall though, if you buy it cheap off the rack, it will be worth it for you. But it is still not a great game at all.
Rating: Summary: 7th Guest Review: It's definitely a tough game. If I wasn't persistent, I would quit the game. But I usually manage to stumble on the solution of each puzzle. Great graphics. Not one to be finished too quickly, that's for sure.
