Summary: I guess I'm just lucky...
Review: 4 yr old Dell Dimension XPS
Pentium III 1GHz
512MB RDRAM
GeForce 256 64MB DDR SDRAM (with current nVidia driver)
SB Audigy 2
Direct X 9.0
Windows XP Pro
80GB Maxtor HD

And the game runs without a hitch. I run it with Norton Internet Security 2003 on, too.

I installed, registered and immediately went to the Big Huge Games site and installed the latest patch.

Summary: I must be lucky, but it runs well on my "old" system
Review: I have a 3 1/2 year old Dell XPS 1Ghz PIII, 512MB RDRAM, GeForce 256 64MB DDR SDRAM (with current drivers), SB Audigy 2, Direct X 9.0, Windows XP Pro.

I installed it then installed the most current update patch from the maker, "Big Huge Games". So far, no issues.

Summary: I LOVE THIS GAME AS WELL AS I LIKE HISTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This game rocks, I enjoy the nations like bantu, british, germans, ect. you make an empire this big, EMPIRE. Who wants to rule a nation without an army? Well the answer is simple, you get an amount of 10,000 food, 10,000 timber, 10,000 wealth, 10,000 oil, 10,000 metel, or less. I like the detail to it, IT ALWAYS STICKS TO WHATEVER RACE TYPE A NATION HAS, for example, the Bantu units are black, and each nation has units and powers that they could only have. Like the germans for example, get free planes when they build an airforce, and you create wonders like the "Statue of Liberty", everytime you build a wonder, your nation get power. Also you can find rare resources and claim them with a merchant, fro more info go to www.riseofnations.com
I Bought this item from Ebay and there was no product key, anyone who installed the game please add it with your review, you don't have to, just a guess.

Summary: Has It All
Review: Most likely the greatest thing about Rise of Nations is the ability to pick it up whether you're familiar to real time strategy games or not. Also, the same concept applies for fans of the genre. That aside, every single gamer should own this game. Rise of Nations is just incredible. It has superb graphics, great story line, is fun to play all around, and has great tutorials. After the hundreds of video games I've played, Rise of Nations is my FAVORITE. It is impossible to describe the awesomeness of this game. If you're not a real time strategy game, you'll love this game so much that it will get you interested in the genre. If you're a RTS fan and you don't have this in your collection, I hereby consider one of the most ridiculous people ever to live. NO gamer should have any hesitation on picking up this game. There is not a single flaw about it. It's face paced, lengthy, and has a great multiplayer (you can go online with it for free)! This game is incredible and you will not be able to put it down. I can't wait for Rise of Nations: Throne and Patriots to come out (expansion pack).

Summary: RON
Review: Rise of Nations is the product that learned from the mistakes of games like Age of Empires, Starcraft, and Red Alert. As the commander of a unique civilization, you get to control every aspect of your nation--- military, society, and economy---all with new ideas and concepts that are easy to adapt to. This game is two steps beyond anything in its genre.

Summary: Good but not great
Review: I've read other people's reviews of the game and I've got to say that while the gameplay is indeed good, graphically the game looks like it should have come out a couple years ago. Yes, you can zoom in three levels but all of the units look like wind up toy soldiers when they move. The units in Age of Mythology and Empire Earth move much smoother. The flying units look terrible compared to the same units in Empire Earth. If it weren't for the Conquer the World mode of play I'd have to give this game 2 stars only. Do yourself a favor and buy the Empire Earth Gold Edition. It is cheaper and a better game for your average RTS player. Most people point out that Rise of Nations is better because each civ has unique units. Unique units for each civilization does not a better game make.

Summary: The *BEST* RTS game ever made, seriously.
Review: Age of Empires and Empire Earth got left behind when this gem came out, this is the next generation of RTS gaming indeed. The game has a steep learning curve but offers some of the best gameplay I have ever experienced. Get it, you won't regret this purchase!
