Summary: Excellent Star Trek Story
Review: I love this game because you have a story similar to Indiana Jones in a Star Trek mission. Searching for ancients orbs and following a legend. You can play three (independent) characters and save your progress in mission. You solve puzzles and kill "bad boys" and "creatures".
Wonderfull graphics and medium requeriments for your PC.
I gave 4 stars to overall rating because you will need to download two patches (first a big and after a small patch) for a good experience in this game.

Summary: A game that uses the unreal tournament engine indeed!
Review: I never new that this game even existed until I got it with star trek ds9 dominion wars, I got its jewel case so.The fallen is a
puzzling, 3rd person mystery adventure good game. And it uses the glorious unreal tournament engine to pack in all the action to make in this game!!!It really has good graphics.Great gameplay.Good sounds, good music, Excellent graphics, oh and this is the first ut engine game to use projected volumetric shadows, but unlike in jk2(jediknigh2), it doesn't slow down the framerate!!!!But, there are some downs about it! One of the downs is the puzzling ALMOST impossible levels!Although the AI is normal, good.Fair enough!I reccomend a shiny NEW pentium 2 400mhrz with a 16mb 3d accelerator video card, the memory should not me shared and directly for it.I reccomend 128mb ram, that is required for most games these days, but for the really high tech ones, 256mb ram is reccomended.I also reccomend a high end good a3d directxcompatible or eax high end directx compatible sound card! And I reccomend 600mb of harddrive space for complete installation!!!And sci-fi star trek unreal fan is a must get this game!Just buy it!Enjoy it!I reccomend it!Your welcome!!!

Summary: Old guy likes this one
Review: I remember watching the original series on prime time and that's all I will say there, except, no, I do not live in my parent's basement. This is important, however, because I have seen all the shows and games develop over the years. I have a PS1 and have many interactive games, etc. I can still say this: This game is extrordinary. Even though there are not a lot of "puzzles" to solve, and the ones that are there are easy, so what? The graphics and action on this thing are superb, and playing all the games over and over is still fun because wasting the Cardies, Dominion dudes, and bad Bejorans is fun. Perhaps I got too much pleasure out of using the Sniper feature on the Star Fleet phaser rifle? Perhaps yes. Get this game. Period.

Summary: Amazing Demo = Amazing Game
Review: I think this is one of the best playing games of a new genre of 3rd person - meets 1st person cinematic. I really got creeped out - impressed with the gadgets - and downright into the small story of the demo. Great job! Deep Space Nine: The Fallen is truly worthy of purchase.

Summary: Great Game: Serious Warnings
Review: I. This is what old fashioned single-player gaming used to be about. The Fallen avoids the temptation that Elite Forces gave into and gives us not a frag-fest but uses the Unreal Tournament to deliver a story. This feels much more like Vampire: Redemption and the Thief Games than the Quake/Unreal engines which run it. Not that Frag-fest games aren't an outstanding way to pass the time but DS9 really demanded more of this sort of gameplay.

II. Appreciation aside there are SERIOUS technical problems. Check out the Official website's discussion board to get an overview, but briefly the game, despite the 3dFX participation has a real bad time with GLIDE hardware, and often it will not recognize D3D mode either. One can usually work around the GLIDE and D3D problems by using the OPEN GL mode and installing the 2 patches (One of which is 32 meg: That is TOO big for a patch in my opionin it feels much more like a flawed retail product that needed more work). Also if you are using a Diamond MX 400 there are additional audio tweaks you will need to make to get the sound to work properly.

III. In conclusion this is a great game but I'm getting the feeling that they rished it out the door to make Christmas sales deadlines and the game was simply not ready for retail release (I know they missed 1 release date as it was). Hopefully future support will address these serious problems.

Summary: Highly underrated!
Review: If you enjoyed Activision's Voyager Elite Force, don't miss Deep Space Nine: The Fallen. I had low expectations for this game, but it was a very pleasant surprise. Great graphics, fun action, and the chance to play as three of the show's characters. Too bad some of the actors refused to lend their voices to the game, but I can live without Avery Brooks' god-awful acting anyway...

Summary: A Great Plot, Easy Controls, and Detailed Star Trek Setting
Review: If you enjoyed Rune, Tomb Raider, or Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine then DS9: The Fallen should definitely be the next game on your list. The Fallen combines the detail available through a modified Unreal engine with the Star Trek series' attention to detail to come up with maps that are huge, beautiful, and just a little intimidating if you don't know your way around the DS9 TV show. (The feeling of depth and 'vertigo' in the maps is reminiscent of Jedi Knight.) You play DS9 as any of three characters, and the manual recommends you that play the whole game through as each-a clever way to extend the game's life while increasing your immersion in the story. As Sisko, Worf and Kira you are given different missions to complete, though most missions take place on the same maps-one explanation as to why the maps are so large and extensively detailed. What is fun to see is how the missions overlap each other-Sisko, for example, receives updates from Worf on the status of the Worf character's objectives, and mysterious failures in the communications link break off mid-conversation between Sisko and Kira, hinting at what her missions involve.

Other Star Trek-specific additions include the use of a Tricorder (which acts as a radar for enemies and hidden items) and Communicator, which works here as a way to receive clues on particular puzzles. Also, by using the franchise's extensive catalogue of sounds and orchestrated music, the cut scenes and in-game sound have special polish-the music is one of the most enjoyable Star Trek touches, and are loaded as MP3 files if you want to listen to them outside of the game.

Sometimes a game 'clicks' with a certain type of player. This one definitely fit me, as I was sad to see Infernal Machine end. With a plot stronger than that of the Indiana Jones game, and with the graphic beauty of Rune, DS9: The Fallen is a game that is engaging enough to finish, and whose gameplay is so direct that I feel like I can.
