Summary: This is why I wanted a PS2
Review: I love this game but the graphics are pretty weak and the control of vehicles in the game are terrible. The boat is nearly immpossible to control. I guess I need to buy a PS2 style controller to enjoy it even more. More over the game continuously shuts down as I cross bridges back into vice city and surrounding areas, "I have no idea why" and you can see a lot of gliches. As long as they had before the release date I would have thought they would have corrected these for the PC. The game however is fun with the 80s tracks and it is a game you can play for hours at a time. A great buy, but have a good computer and plenty of ram.

Summary: If you liked GTA3 you will LOVE GTA:Vice City
Review: I'm a 100% PC only gamer so when they finally released GTA:Vice City for the PC I was stoked. I could go into a long winded discussion of the excellent graphics, the perfect voice casting, the well set up and imaginative missions, and the free form playing....but I won't. All you really need to know is this:

-Liked GTA3? Buy GTA: Vice City. It's that simple

Summary: Great Game.... If Your Computer Can Take It
Review: Don't bother buying this game unless you have *at least* 256 MB RAM. It wouldn't hurt to splurge for a great graphics card, either. Otherwise, driving and even running will overwhelm your computer, leaving you at a standstill waiting for your computer to catch up (in which case, you'd be better off with the PS2 version, which runs seamlessly).

Beyond that, the graphics are terrific, and the game provides infinite possibilities, giving you the freedom to choose missions, explore, and really mess around. A must for any gamer old enough to buy it!

Otherwise, driving and even running will overwhelm your computer, leaving you at a standstill waiting for your computer to catch up (in which case, you'd be better off with the PS2 version, which runs seamlessly).

Beyond that, the graphics are terrific, the missions are fun, driving is cooler than in racing games I've played, and the game provides infinite possibilities, giving you the freedom to choose missions, explore, and really mess around. A must for any gamer old enough to buy it!

Summary: They've done it again!
Review: Vice City is bascially GTA 3 done right. The story and cutscenes are superb. The graphics are excellent and so is the level of detail. But that's not all!

Vicy City again takes the gameplay to the next level. Now you can go into buildings (try the Police HQ!). There are now unmarked police cars and the SWAT team can descend from helicopters. The cops also throw spike strips. You have about 2-3 times more different weapons. You can shoot at people who are inside vehicles.

The best thing, however is that you can ride motorcycles! Needless to say, that will be the source of some insane getaways, hard crashes, and cool drive-by shootings.

Summary: A review by someone who actually played the PC version
Review: Let's be very frank: This game is NOT for children. It deserves the "M" rating, so no whining about its adult themes.

If you are of proper age, then this is one of the greatest PC games ever. Graphics are much improved over the PS2 version, taking advantage of the high performance PC graphics boards. On the other hand, make sure you have a good video card and fast system to run it. I wouldn't try it without 256MB of memory and at least a GeForce 3 level videocard (but with those it runs just fine).

The nonlinear nature of the game is what keeps you coming back. You can take missions from various people (just as in GTA3) when you want to do it. Some missions advance the storyline, some do not. Having completed the storyline missions for the game, I am still barely halfway through everything there is to do in the game. You can count on playing this game repeatedly for the next year without getting tired of it.

For those who have played GTA3, Vice City is an evolutionary change. More vehicle types are available, and you can now go into some of the buildings you see (and create mayhem there). Vice City even allows ownership of property. All property you purchase gives you an extra save point (no more running all over the city just to save a game), and some open up side missions (once completed, that property then provides a side income- you just show up and pick it up).

The voice acting for the game (Ray Liotta, Jenna Jameson, Tom Sizemore, and more) is top notch. The cutscenes are definitely worth watching, and adds quite a bit of enjoyment to the game.

If you liked GTA3, then buy this game. If you tried GTA3 and didn't like it, then don't bother. If you never played GTA3, but you want to try out a game that is different from normal, linear games, you owe it to yourself to buy Vice City.

Summary: Warning This Game is "Extremely Addictive"
Review: I just got gta3 vice city for the pc and I haven't stopped playing it. And it is so much better than the last version of gta3. The addition of motorcycles and helicopters are simply awesome. The game runs alot smoother and no long freezes like it did in prior games. The graphics are amazing and the signs and stores fronts you can read perfectly. You need a great computer to run this baby. I've got a P4 2.2 Northwood and Geforce 3 graphics card.

Becareful before you buy this game, because you will spend hours and days of your life playing it. You may lose your job, your wife, your friends, and flunk out of school, if you can't tear yourself away from it. I would also advise that this game is not be purchased for kids under 15 due to its violent nature though.

This is the best single player game I've ever bought. If they made vice city a multiplayer game it would be perfect. You can play this game for 100s of hours and it never gets boring. The missions are almost endless and keep you coming back for more. It teaches problem solving although in a criminal mind format. There are always several ways to complete a mission, which makes this game so unique.

This game is a classic!

Summary: Poor control
Review: It looks like I could really love this game. I've just been exploring so far, and I can see a lot of things to do. But, I haven't been able to really "get into" the game because controlling the vehicles is so touchy (even with mouse sensitivity set all the way down) that I can't keep a vehicle on the street--let alone navigate a motorcycle up a ramp at full speed. I've tried controlling with mouse, joystick, and keyboard with the same oversensitivity. If they come up with a patch for this problem, I'll spend many fun filled hours with this game.

Summary: Great game for older audiences to appreciate
Review: This is one ares-whopping of a ride for a game. Not only does the game have a dynamic storyline but it gives the player so much freedom, freedom to do almost whatever the player wants. And it is because of this great freedom that the game has so much replayability. You may one day decide to start a new game and accomplish the mission a different way, or enter in some cheat codes and slash the enemies with your katana. Given the endless possibilities, it makes this game great.

However, I have noticed that smaller kids tend not to appreciate games such as this (of course this game is intended for older kids anyway) The blood and violence may not keep them away for the game, but rather is the amount of freedom the gamer has over the situation. For younger kids, they like games that follow a specific sets of directions that you must accomplish. Also, some of the 80s stuff younger kids won't be able to appreciate because they didn't live through that era. Also, the sexual content should be kept off younger kids.

Overall, this is a great game, and I had plenty of fun playing it. However, to fully appreciate the game, you have to be pretty mature (like the rating suggests ;)). A 11-year-old may be perplexed by the fact that two people jumped into a car and it started to to rock back and forth >)

Summary: if you have alot of internal rage...
Review: I can honestly say that this game is worth every penny you spend on it. I have beaten this game over and over and it never gets old. The game play is awesome. I have seen better story lines, but who needs a story line when you can blow things up? You will never run out of things to explore on this game, and I would recomend it to absolutly anyone.
