Rating: Summary: Very nice game worth picking up a Copy! Review: OK, when i first started playing this game i noticed how nice the graphics are, probally the best a game has to offer these days, and i also noticed how weird the controls were via keyboard/mouse. I soon picked up on the controls in only about 30min and for all the moves and fighting techniques only about 1hr. The game has a wonderful story that anyone new or old to the prince of persia series can follow on very easily. This game and its story is very addicting and it will make you play hours and hours on end tell you finally beat it, you may think the game is short but thats only because you cant stop playing it. I suggest that you play this on medium to hard difficulty level the first time around so you get a long and challenging experience. Fighting in this game at first is pretty easy but later on in the game the monsters just keep coming like a swarm of locust you kill 3 only to have 10 more pop out, which makes it pretty difficult which is a good thing that i liked very much. The combat is also similar to the Matrix games running and jumping off walls floating into the air to swip your foes from behind its really neat you just have a sword instead of guns =) If your having trouble with the controls they do suggest a gamepad to purchase called the Thrustmaster (Firestorm) Analog 3, but you can learn the keyboard and mouse with some patience. One more thing to note about the (Camera angles) in Prince of Persia is that they are not near as bad as the Resident evil or Silent hill games so dont let that factor stop you from purchasing this game. !!!Almost forgot about the puzzles!!!! They are challenging and never boring not to hard not to easy kinda similar to Tomb Radier but better. Pros: 1. Very nice and clean Graphics Top of the line 2. Story line easy to follow and keeps you playing 3. Combat is like the Matrix Games with swords instead of guns 4. The puzzles are a challenge and make you think Cons: 1. Your gonna need a good computer and with video requirments that match the box 2. The controls and camera angles may be to difficult for some people to learn or get the hang of 3. Not much replay value after beating it on all difficulty levels
Rating: Summary: Brilliant and absorbing Review: One of the most brilliant games I've played in a long time. I'm a big fan of this type of game (like Tomb Raider, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter). I feel like so much thought was put into Prince of Persia to make it all fit together. For instance, when you die and restart the game you hear "your" voice saying "No, no, no, that's not what happened. Let me tell it again." You regain health by drinking water available in fountains throughout the castle. Makes much more sense than finding "health crates" scattered everywhere the way you do in most games! The power ups that you can find also make sense in the context of the story instead of just being something you find lying around. It's also beautiful, clever, and fun. One negative - at about 33% of the game I came across a bug that made it impossible to continue playing. Their tech support said if I started from a different save file the problem wouldn't be there but I didn't have a different save file. But I didn't consider it a big deal to have to restart the game since it has been such fun to play it anyway!
Rating: Summary: Aladdin with so violence Review: Playing a demo of this game I was reminded of Alladin game a few years back. The best part is the graphic. They're so crisp and bold. The control take some time getting used to, but the game is great.
Rating: Summary: Prince of Presia Sands of Time Review: POP is a waste of money POP offers nothing special, nothing unique nothing new it has a stupid story line If you like games that tamper with time get Max Payne 1 or 2
Rating: Summary: It's the best! Review: Prince of Persia must have been a fantastic game on a Gamecube, PS2, or X-Box. On the PC, it shows signs of greatness, but the awful controls and camera movements make it too frustrating to play for an extended period of time. Maybe console gamers are used to this, or maybe it just worked better on consoles, but as a PC player, I want simple functions, like being able to look up and down with the mouse. In PoP, you can't even freelook with the mouse unless you press a special key to enter first person mode. The mouse and keyboard provides so many efficient camera control methods that there is no excuse for not getting this right. The camera angle in Prince of Persia shifts every five seconds or so. Seriously. I never got used to it while playing the whole game. This caused me to die numerous times while fighting or trying to make a precise jump, as the "left" key would suddenly become "up". Perhaps console gamers are more used to this, but it drove me beserk. Then there's the controls. This game was just not made for a mouse and keyboard. I hated the battles in this game because of the controls. Between the controls and the camera angles, I found that combat basically becomes a crude mouse-clicking affair, where you occasionally hit the "E" key to finish off prone enemies or freeze them. I could never quite get the Prince to do what I wanted him to do. There's an enemy to my right. Press "D" to move right and Left Click to attack. So the Prince wheels around and attacks a guy behind him instead. These types of moments will repeatedly pop up during combat and force you to get killed. Until you discover the overpowered Wall Spring move, which kills everyone in one hit. Even if you have done that, sometimes the Princess that you are escorting around gets stuck annoyingly in a group of enemies and gets killed. What a shame, because I wanted to love this otherwise outstanding game. In this game you get to play the ultimate acrobatic hero. The Prince has a lot of cool moves, and they never get old to pull off or watch. His animations are so smooth, that they are incredible to watch. Every room is filled with traps, levers, or deep chasms and ultimately presents a puzzle to be solved. There is a very satisfying challenge in figuring out how to use all of the Prince's special abilities to navigate across each area. Solving the puzzles in the game is immensely satisfying. The story doesn't sound like much on paper, but like many games, it's the way that you are immersed in the story that makes it great. The chivalrous, brave young man gets the beautiful girl and saves the day. It's not entirely original, but it's just so well done here. The Prince and The Princess exchange a lot of dialog, and that is what makes the romance between them so enjoyable, and also believable. It's hard to not like both characters. But playing this game was like having a great dream -- and then getting woken up by the alarm clock. The control and camera issues get in the way of so many potentially great moments. Potentially easy challenges take two or three frustrating tries. If you own a console, I would recommend that you play this game there.

Rating: Summary: Best of Prince of Persia Games Review: Prince of Persia Sands of Time is a masterpiece of a game... For all POP fans it's a must have, as well as for those who have never played a Prince of Persia game before. The game manages to give u a fresh look while keeping the old feel of prince of persia games. The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful...and the graphics brilliant. The story is very intriguing and keeps u at the edge of your seat, waiting to see what will happen next and making wild guesses....the ending is truly amazing, either u'll be hugging your pc screen screaming u knew it from the start, or end up sprawled on the floor totally stunned. All in all it's a wonderfull game and well deserves all 5 stars. Gamers, buy it u won't b disappointed.
Rating: Summary: I had to play it twice! Review: Prince of Persia Sands of Time totally ROCKS!!! Excellent storyline, excellent graphics, excellent sound, and although there are a few dissenters out there, I really like the controls. The key to playing this game successfully is to map the controls to your own particular style and to master the fighting techniques. Initially it may seem difficult to control because of the change in view during gameplay. I was able in most cases to control this with a trackball and by switching directional keys as the views changed. I really like what the programmers and designers did because it's like playing an interactive movie which is a lot of fun. It is true that for the most part you have to follow a certain path in order to complete the game but the puzzles are fun and so are the mazes. The first time through it took me 16 hours. I had so much fun I played again and practiced my fighting techniques. The result is that I was able to finish the game in six hours the second time. I've never played the same game twice in the same week but I had so much fun I just had to. I wish the programmers for the Tomb Raider series could do what Ubisoft has done with the controls. Granted it's a little different than normal but nowhere near as irritating is the Tomb Raider series especially Angel of Darkness. Well, happy gaming and have fun! I can't wait till next Prince of Persia comes out!
Rating: Summary: Great game! Review: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time definitely exceeds my expectations. Not only are the graphics and detail in this game stunning, but it also has a great adventure storyline, though I must warn you that practically throughout the whole game, this very annoying "Princess" will follow you. But don't worry, just run far a head of her, so when she starts talking you cut her off. Fighting in this game is also a lot of fun, but kind of easy, which is a good thing also. After you get the special dagger, the game starts getting better, you'll need it to stab enemies after combat to finish them off, you'll get a special abillity which lets you kill all the enimies in a room in seconds. Swinging from spikes hanging from a roof, flipping from pole to pole, to running along walls, this game keeps you entertained for as long as you play it, each time. This definitely isn't a waste of money, after you beat it, you'll still have this urge to beat it one more time.
Rating: Summary: amazing, unique, excellent Review: The movement system is so far out.. with the incredible acrobatics and tricks you can do. The most innovative movement and combat system I have seen to date. Its great to have nice break from standard shooters. The graphics and dialogs are simply awesome.. you will find yourself grinning at the way the prince and princess interact. The way the environment reacts is very realistic. You will learn totally new ways of getting around with the gymnastic/acrobatic skills of the prince. Of course the way that the prince can control time adds a whole new dimension.. breaking from the standard ways of checkpoints/saving games. In the beginning the learning curve may be a little steep with the way the camera acts and the new methods of movement. Make sure you learn the camera controls (Q, X, F) to give you a better view of what you're seeing and what you need to do. Also learn and master the special attacks.. ie: counters, wallrebounds and the combat will get much easier. Move around alot and use the powers of your dagger like delay and mega-freeze to do some major damage.
I am in a unique position to say this as I have played the older Prince of Persia games(early 90s).. this game is indeed worthy of bearing the name. Be prepared for a fantastic and unique game experience with LOTS of satisfying and challenging playing time. Thank you Jordan Mechner(creator of POP) and UBISoft.
