Summary: Half-Life 2, The Other Half?
Review: I think that anyone saying that Half-Life 2 is Half-Life 1 with a different name either is blind, stupid, or works for a different video game company. This game is going to be breakthrough, and will be able to rival well established giants such as Doom III and Max Payne 2. (for Max Payne 2 I would replace with Duke Nukem Forever, but it's never coming out.) The gameplay of the first game was nothing short of breathtaking, and the storyline gave the First Person Shooter it's intelligence back. And with a new graphics engine, you know that this gae is going to rock.

Summary: Half life and CS totally different
Review: This game is going to rock! If the first half-life didnt scare the pants off you, this will.

I dont understand why people (see smartguy below) are comparing Half-Life2 to Counter-Strike. This is a single player game! Sure there will be multiplayer mods-- but these mods always change the feel of the game core and the way damage is given. Please don't judge this game based on your opinion of the orginal's multiplayer mod: CS. You have no idea how the multiplayer versions of HL2 will work out.

Get yourself a nice video card, cpu and memory and enjoy the game! As for smartguy, go hibernate with your pacifier so we'll never have to hear from you again.

Summary: is it really half life 2?
Review: Ok everybody, I've heard rumours that this isnt actually Half Life 2, it is actually half life 1, under a different name, and it has a few new enemies named 'biozeminades' which can make themselves look good, and you have to kill them with spray paint. Apparently, the half life 2 e3 video and trailer were made with frame by frame animation (so it is not the game) by Yago Zebadiah, who is from France. However, this half life 2(1) is still looking good, and i hope that the biozeminades are as good as people say they are

Summary: This game is gonna' be HU63!!111
Review: When I first dl'd the preview from E3, i was simply stunned. The way the water was churned and splashed as good ol' Gordon ran through it, the way light hits the water and glass, simply impressive! And the physics, the gravity gun is about the coolest thing I have ever seen in an fps, ever! In the preview, Freeman runs up and dispatches of 4 guards with only the help of his gravity gun! The story looks intense and very deep, like it'll keep people playing for a long time. I love this game already, and I've never played it. If for nothing else, it's the sequel to HL 1 for God's sake!

***** G** from Oregon said that this game was going to suck, don't know. But anybody who loves TFC that much, but not CS or HL1, has to have some strange reason. Everybody has their opinions, and mine is TFC SUCKS!!!1 And CS: Condition Zero looks like one of the coolest MP games EVER!

Summary: I PLAYED THE ORIGINAL
Review: i played the original and i think its still the best game to date endless mods and other things make it greater my fav mod is tour of duty and i heard that they will cross over the coding so i can play it on hl2. hl2 will kick!!!

Summary: Kik Doom in the rump awesome
Review: Ive seen like every trailer and screenshot and watched this thing as close as a momma raccon to her young since it was announced. The graphics are simply salivatingly delicious and the crazy realism in it is enuf to make you want eat the gosh darn thing.
Ive downloaded the alpha demo for DOOM3 and, dont get me wrong, that thing is gonna raise some hell on its release, but DOOM3, as much respect as i have for the doom series hit a lil' short of where even the Half-Life E3 gameplay video has hit.
I mean im sure its not going to be AS great as the E3 thing makes it look but this thing is going to "knock me socks off" as I might put it.

Summary: Without question, a killer evolution in game technology.
Review: In the beginning, half-life was regonized specifically for it's remarkable hollywood textured storyline and astonishing tension of immerse game-play, while combining a cutting-edge 3-D engine and a simple interface with a major mod community and a white knuckle efficient multiplayer mode. Precisely. Nobody anticipated a sequel, although there was indeed a rumor of one. The second after half-life shipped out the door in October 1998, Valve went straight to work on half-life 2. WOW. Now, during Spring 2003, Valve finally reveals what they've been isolated doing in their little offices with their computers and their nerdy but creative little minds. And the other decent thing is: I have a official release date: September 30th, 2003. Before DOOM III and long before DUKE NUKEM: FOREVER and other fan hyped up games will debut. Read on to find out what hl2 will offer and why it'll win game of the year of 2003 and recover what the original one offered, and more and then some.

Heh. I've seen many screenies, some video clips, and have read articles of first glimpses of hl2, and am I impressed? Yes, 100%. Am I satisified? Yes, 100%. Valve's close tight space coupleed developers and programmers and designers has spread out wored of hl2. Truly, hl2 will be a revolution, and looks amazing. I've never seen anything as, well, realistic as half-life 2. It's core logic stunning visuals, environment realism, rich sound effects, CD-quality professionally and nicely tuned music, A.I system, physics engine, and and more has simulatneously awed me when at the same time prooves to be the best show of E3 2003 and has prooved to leave the crowd speecheless, and staggered.

The game is powered by the source engine, which has certainly eaten major chuncks of developement cycle time. Alas, it features Advanced camera and monitor control, the next generation of bump-mapping, specularity, texture variety, reflective and refractive surfaces,(including water), detail props, bump-mapped displacement mapps, volumetric effects, an incredibly high level of detail, static props, particle effects, fresnel reflections, and more. The 3DSky, Volumetric effects, dynamic refrction, diffused shader models, raiodisty based specular bump mapping, texture resolution, texture variety, static props, dynamic props, dynamic shadows, specularity, water, cameras and monitors, and displacement maps powered by the latest Direct-X 9 video card and Pentium 4 with HT technology truly makes the game look stunning, and the sound engine is EAX 3 real-life quality. Whoa. But not only that, the facial animations and character animations is just totally mind boddling, and the engine's graphics, physics, and animation, and sound engine just isn't holded up for show, it's directly connected with game-play. THe story-line hasn't been revealed much by valve, so. The game is scalable from a dx-6 mid-range system tnt based rig, from the state of the art P4 3GHZ Direct-X 9 video card from ATI and NVIDIA based rig, which is perfectly fine with me. Thus, the game will look vastly different depending on what video card you run it on. Heh heh heh. There is a lot more to half-life 2, but i believe that is what is left up to you to be discovered. Take my advice: Half-life 2 is your next game, when it debuts. The game is more than just a worthy sequel to the original game. And more. Absolutely splendid. *
