Summary: don't waste your time...or your money
Review: I made the mistake of buying and loading XP on one of my machines at home. What a great product (not!!!). No drivers for my video card, my CD burner, my wireless network, my HDTV interface, etc.; can't upgrade my hardware as usual; get to send M$ all kinds of info about my machine just to use it; have to buy an separate copy for each of my 5 computers.......and the list goes on and on. Luckily I installed it on my "test" machine so when I now have to reformat my hard drive to remove this parasite I won't be losing too much. Just my time, money.......

Summary: Window XP- The best so far
Review: I recently upgraded to Windows XP. I must say I have no regrets. Its STABLE and manages memory resources better than previous versions.
I had to upgrade a few softwares and drivers, but that's okay. XP told me up front what was compatible and what wasn't.
Buy it now, you won't regret it.

Summary: Forget what others say!
Review: Other buyers of this product say it is difficult for you to install this, but for me it went smoothly. The only thing that was bad about it, is that the download is lengthy, but it's worth the wait! Improvements in all sections of Windows. The program is easier to use for both experts and beginners! The programs are set out for most commonly used to least commonly used. Which makes it a faster and easier program to deal with. This program actually improves your computer to higher speed of opening and turning of the computer. Well, that's all I have to say about this beautiful, easy to use Windows program.

Review: I have purchased XP a few weeks ago and do not regret at all. It does run slower comparing to Windows ME but what is more important to, speed or stability?

Summary: Be ready to pay "X"tra for "XP"
Review: How do you feel if after paying for a home remoding project then the contractor asks you for more money if you want to use the bathroom or operate the garage door opener. After upgrading from Windows ME to XP, my HP CD burner is no longer working (you have to "buy" the upgrade software - CD Creator 5), Norton system works 2001 and Norton anti virus 2001 also require an update, DLink video cam has to be reinstalled, etc....
"XP" means "Xtra Payment" if you want true MS eXPerience. If you want to upgrade, go with Windows 2000, or better yet, buy a new GeForce video card.

Summary: Best OS so far!!!
Review: I love the new Windows XP Home Edition. It is great for people who don't know a whole lot about computers all the way up to advanced users! Microsoft has really done a great job with this one. My only problem so far has been my instant messaging. All of the people whom I wish to have a voice conversation with must also be using XP. That's the downside, but other than that it is great! I love it and I know anyone out there who tries it will love it too!!! :o)

Summary: Awesome new interface
Review: XP has a really clean interface that is dramatically better than any Windows version before it. I moved all of my desktop icons into the wonderful new start menu. My desktop is cleaner, my files are easier to access, and the overall experience is much better. I also spent $(***)to upgrade my computer from 64 MB of RAM to 384 MB -- this is well worth the investment if you have a Pentium II or above with at least 300 MHz (if not, buy a new computer from Amazon).

Summary: My Laptop doesn't made noise any more.
Review: I have a Dell laptop (Inspiron 7500). With Windows 98, the fan at the back made so much noise; it was the most annoying thing. Windows XP saved me from that horrifying sound. My computer is so queit now. This alone was worth the money for me.-------------------I had some problems with Suspend mode after installation, but the rest of the installing process was easy. My computer has 466 MHz Celeron and 128mb memory. I was worried that it would not be enough, but it turned out fine.--------------------The new photo, music and IM functions are good. I am a heavy media user, and find the new features though not revolutionizing, but queit convinient.-----------------The new look is cute too--------------------My happiest moment with XP was when I inserted my Network card into the computer. Without me doing anything, within seconds, it was automatically installed. I spend hours trying to install it on 98, and it never worked.============ THIS HAS BEEN A GREAT EXPERIENCE. TRY IT.

Summary: If you use Personal Web Server on 98/ME, DON'T UPGRADE
Review: I really did my homework on this product, but here I am yet again kicking myself for buying another Microsoft upgrade.I manage my own website as well as those of a couple of not-for-profit organizations. In Windows 98/ME I depended on Personal Web Server to be able to test out my modifications locally on my home machine, before uploading the changes to the real web servers. Since I do a lot of coding in ASP (Active Server Pages -- a *MICROSOFT* technology), Microsoft Personal Web Server was the only product I could do this with. Lo and behold, Personal Web Server will not run on Windows XP Home edition, and in fact installing XP simply removed it. You have to buy the Professional edition (at twice the price), which comes with it's own version of PWS. Nor does Windows XP Home offer an alternative -- web server software will simply not run on this OS. I think MS has made a huge miscalculation here on this one. The news groups over the last week have been full of horrified postings when people discovered they were not longer able to support their websites. Admittedly, this is sort of a single-issue gripe. The interface of XP is lovely, there are a lot of nice new features. But the bottom line is, we need to be able to upgrade our OS in the faith that the important applications we ran without problem under the previous version of the OS will continue to operate, or that some alternative is offered.

Summary: The Best Home Edition Ever Released
Review: It is a great deal, BUT Microsoft should review their activation policy, since that I cannot install the same disk I bought on my laptop, so I have to go and buy another one for the SAME PRICE again!! This will surly decrease the market demand, it will give a "boom" to competitors in this condition, specially there are new regulations against Microsoft OS market policy. I suggest a small fee can be represented in activation for a whole new platform, something like that. Thank you.
