Rating: Summary: A whole new experience! Review: I've been working with the RC1-Version for almost a month now, and even this pre-release version was able to exceed my highest expectations. You just won't recognize Windows as it was before (however, if you really don't like the new User Interface, you can still switch back to the classic Windows UI and even to the old-style start menu).Windows XP is as stable as Windows 2000 without giving up compatibility to your old apps (especially games). The hardware support is just great: I'm using some uncommon hardware and XP still recognized all devices and set them up correctly (and hardware support used to get even better in the final release version)! So you don't need to worry about your hardware - just buy it! I would strongly recommend an update to all Windows 98 and Windows ME users. Buy this home edition - the Professional Edition only offers a few options you won't need anyways (such as the remote desktop) at almost the double price.
Rating: Summary: Microsoft Windows XP is superb! Review: Microsoft has again created a superb product! Rating: Summary: Windows XP great upgrade Review: WIndows XP, is a great upgrade, mandatory for Windows 9X users and High Performance PCs. The Music and Pictures Folder is way cool and overall I forgot was reboot was. I've been runinng RC1 Beta code and it's very reliable.
Rating: Summary: Windows Done Right Review: As a current user of Windows XP (RC2), I must say that Microsoft has made many improvements. Intergrated software for DVDs, CDRs, Firewall, Remote support (think Pc-Anywhere), multiple indepedent users, return of DOS support (win2k didn't have), 3D power of 98/ME, faster boot up time (from win2k), etc... The only complaint people have is the registration procees which limits you to only being able to installing it on at most one desktop and one laptop, and requiring you to register (or call if your re-installing, or have changed 5+ hardware components). Just Great over all. Salarn
Rating: Summary: MS Windows XP Professional Review: Well in a nutshell, GREAT! I have been using the new OS and really enjoy the new design in the user interface as well as the ease it installed on my computer. I have had less crashes and more stability than I had hoped or even thought possible with a new OS. Using the Professional version has been a pleasure and using my other hardware has been just as easy. After a little research on drivers, since they are not all out yet, I have been able to use everything in a functioning manner without any lengthy downtime. The user interface and better control over my computer has been delightful. I have profiles for my family and limited some of the users to specific rights so there is less tinkering and less damage from a random click of my childeren. Definately a 5 star rating and a great Xperience. Thanks Microsoft!!!!!

Rating: Summary: MS has done it again Review: First Windows2K and now this. Windows XP is hands-down the best OS from MS ever. GET IT!
Rating: Summary: Be aware of Product Activation Review: Windows XP is great but there is one thing you need to know: in order to use this product, you will be forced to contact Microsoft (by phone or via internet) in order to get an "activation code" after you have installed the software. If you don't do this, you will no longer be able to use this product after 30 days. In order to get this activation code, you will have to send Microsoft a code made up from the different pieces of hardware on your computer. You have no choice in this matter. They will then give you an this activation or "unlock" code in return. If you change the hardware on your computer beyond a Microsoft-specified amount, Windows XP will suspect that it is now installed on a different machine and will demand that you apply to Microsoft for another activation code before you can continue using it. If their database shows that you have already "activated" this software before, they will demand a reason why you want another activation code. If they think you are trying to install the software on more than one machine, they can deny you the activation code, thereby rendering the software useless. The aim of this is to make sure that you buy one separate copy of Windows XP for each machine you own. Be aware that, even after you have bought this software, Microsoft still has the ability to deny you the ability to use what you have paid for.
Rating: Summary: Windows has never been better Review: I have bought and ejoyed all the different Microsoft Windows editions, but nothing like this. Microsoft Windows XP is faster and easy to use. The Start icon is a fat tab like hard candy and the menu is sorted in two different categories. Definitely worth it!
Rating: Summary: The Best software out there!!!!!!! Review: This is the best operatering software you can buy at any store! I highly rec.!!!!!!!!!!!
