Rating: Summary: Best choice for game development on the Mac Review: As editor of idevgames.com I feel that CodeWarrior is the best tool for application and game development on the Apple Macintosh. Metrowerks dropped PASCAL support but they will have a plug-in to handle PASCAL in the near future.
Rating: Summary: CodeWarrior Pro 6.0 Review: CodeWarrior is a nice compiler and integrated development environment. My only complaint is the lack of documentation. Information on how to use their API's is hard to find.
Rating: Summary: The only game in town Review: This is the only real choice for Mac programming now, since Apple's free development tools don't support OS9. That's not a bad thing. CodeWarrior offers pretty much everything you need. PowerPlant is excellent for quick development, and the editor has plenty of useful features. On the downside, the debugger doesn't work very well under OS X PB, and the printed documentation isn't included. But it's still a great program.
Rating: Summary: No more Pascal?! Review: This would be a 5-star IDE if not for Metrowerks' decision to drop Pascal support. That fact was unbeknownst to me when I bought this upgrade, which is now worthless because of my investment in Pascal-based legacy products. Metrowerks was kind enough to send me version 4.0, however, and promises to re-introduce OS X Pascal support at a later date.
