Summary: Great Program for listening to or recording
Review: I have used Music Match for about 1 1/2 years now. I listen to music on a regular basis while I'm studying, cleaning up my room, working on projects, etc. I have about 2 GB of music on my hard drive (all legal) and Music Match works great for listening to it, burning it to CD's, whatever.

I'd like to address some of the comments made by the gentleman above. I'm sure he's being honest about his experience, but I've done things very similar to his and recieved great results. I have a bunch of old records and tapes that I wanted to update to MP3 since I dont really use records and tapes and Music Match worked beutifully. However, there are a few things you have to know to make it work. First, to get any kind of decent sound, you must have an amplifier hooked up between your record player or whatever your source is and the computer. This solved all of the problems I experienced before I did this. The other thing is that under the recording settings you have to have the recording quality set... I use 160 kbps. If you have it set at 96 kbps or below, music will distort. For speech I use 64 kbps.

Overall, this is wonderful software and I highly recommend it for all your music needs.

Summary: Don't buy
Review: I ordered this for the capability to record from an outside source (record player, DAT machine) and encode into MP3 and CD formats. There are no level or tone controls for recording in this manner (only playback) and everything I recorded, despite the level or sampling rate I input the signal at, came out totally distorted from my DAT machine, my boombox, my 8 track, EVERYTHING. Their online music downloading or radio station or something like that is also no longer supported but they fail to tell you that before you buy it. I don't remember exactly what it is because that's not the reason I purchased. This is junk. Trust me. Go buy something better than this. I returned it. Now I want my shipping back too.
