Summary: Dungeons of Drudgery
Review: After reading one positive review after another and attracted by it's bargain price, I took the Diablo plunge.....and I drowned in boredom. Diablo came out in 1997, but the graphics look more like mid-eighties Commodore 64 action. The gameplay itself is horrifyingly redundant. Basically, you enter a multi-level dungeon where all the levels look exactly the same, fight the same monsters over and over, pick up gold, potions, and weapons...and that's it folks. Fun, huh? This concept is so tired by now, and Diablo lends nothing new to it, so what's the attraction? I wish i had my 25 dollars back so i could go buy a new game for my Commodore 64, and maybe pick up an "Outfield" cassette.

Summary: You can not beat this value!
Review: For such a small price, you can buy one of the greatest games of all time! WOW! Despite the fact that Diablo II is out and this game is a little dated, this game is one of the simplest hack-n-slash RPG's in existence. I love this game. Great story line, cool cinematics, great characters and simple gameplay make this a title that should be in every single computer gamers library! Get this now if you do not have it. As a rule of thumb, if the game is made by Blizzard, it is an essential game to own!

Summary: Addictive
Review: This game rules! I was addicted to Diablo (the first one) a few years ago, and when I saw this a coupla months ago, I couldn't believe my eyes! The graphics (not great, but really good), the gameplay, and the characters have all been upped in quality and quantity from the Game Of The Year in 1996, and as far I am an concerned, one of the better games of all times. Diablo 2 is for all of you poor Mac-owners out there!

Summary: Nethack with Graphics
Review: Not to put too fine a point on it: this game is essentially a shallower, real-time version of Nethack, a game with roots stretching back 20 years to older computer games like "Rogue" or "Beneath Apple Manor". (You can find the freeware Nethack easily on the web.)

However, it =is= a particularly solid implementation, with excellent music, graphics (for the time, they're somewhat outdated now), sound effects, voice-acting, and (most critically) a decent interface. The story is more or less irrelevant, but it serves.

This is a fairly short game with a fair amount of replayability. There's not much brain-strain nor is there much of a learning curve. Reccommended.

Summary: This looks familiar...
Review: Okay, I'm about to make myself really unpopular here, but I just didn't like Diablo. I'm sorry, but I seem to remember a game called Gauntlet back in the mid-80s that offered this same gameplay. Don't get me wrong, Gauntlet was an okay game... for its time. Then Electronic Arts made a Guantlet rip-off called "Demon Stalkers" which offered the same gameplay but with a level editor. Well, Diablo doesn't even have that. Sure, the graphics are nicer now (though the colors are a little drab), and the music is better, but come on! The whole game consists of frantically clicking on sprites till they explode into a bloody mess.

Summary: It's coming...
Review: I've played this game for sometime now on the PC and let me just say that this is one addicting game. Sure, the graphics aren't incredible, but the gameplay REALLY shines. Awesome, awesome stuff. This is Blizzard's fastest conversion from PC to Mac, and is a good step in the right direction for Blizzard. Pre-order this game now! It will keep you up for weeks!

Summary: The god of computer games. Diablo
Review: Diablo. A name that will forever remind me of many, many hours gaming. This has to be the greatest and most addicting game ever made. I strongly suggest that if you have the $20 to spend, you get Diablo.

It has many hours of gameplay and it never gets old. Multi-Player is also very fun. But, watch out for player-killers like myself.

Anyways, get the game. You won't reget it. It will be the greatest game youv'e ever played. But watch out for me on multi-play. Your ear my be the next I claim.

Summary: Its beauty is its simplicity
Review: This game, I must say, is one of the most addictive, fun, frustrating, sleep-wasting, homework delaying, fun games ever. While Blizzard, in the manual, gives their usual in depth backstory and pictures and all, the plot of the game is very simple -- fight your way through Diablos minions and then kill the big guy himself.

During the course of all this, you can go back up through the depths into town to reprovision, get some advice from the townspeople, and go on quests for them, from which you get various rewards.

I literally do not think I've ever played a game as addictive as this one. The hours fly. You go through a few levels, and it seems to be fairly quick, and then you realize its 2 am. The first few levels may seem easy, especially if you're playing with a warrior, but once you get down to the depths, believe me, it will be a challenge for anyone.

The graphics, almost five years later, are still very good, as are the spells, weapons and enemies, and the animations of all of them. The worst thing about this game is that you will invariably want to carry more gear than can fit on you, and it's a be-itch trying to figure out what excellent item to sell, and what to keep, only to decide when it's too late you'd rather have done it the other way around.

I haven't played much multiplayer, but that's excellent too. I definitely recommend this game to anyone and everyone. Kudos to Blizzard for a game well done.

Summary: Everyone has got to try this game!
Review: Diablo is just about the coolest game ever! I first played it over a friend's house and now I can't wait to buy it myself. It's kind of creepy though. As you move on to each floor, you never know what to expect...it always gets a little scary. I haven't gotten that far in the game, but my friend's uncle beat it...so it is possible. Anyone who likes suspence and doesn't mind becoming hooked, this is the game for you! It gets 5 stars on my Scale! :)
