Summary: Super Graphics, puzzles could be more difficult
Review: The new 3-D free look was outstanding. It pulls you right in as if you were there. I found the puzzles to be simple. If you are purchasing myst III for the graphic experience, it is well worth it. However if you are a true puzzle person, you will find the game mildly disapointing. The first two games in the series, Myst & Riven, took about 30 hours of playing time each to solve. Myst III took somewhere between 10 and 15 hours.

Summary: Myst 3: Exile surpassed my expectations
Review: A great Myst and Riven fan, I awaited the release of Myst3:Exile with the same excitement and anticipation that I experienced as a child on the night before Christmas. And I was not disappointed! This wonderful game exceeded even my expectations! The puzzles and logic problems were very challenging and the graphics without equal to anything else I've ever seen. Plus, as a long Myst and Riven fan, there was such a comfortable familiarity for me because of the continuity among the 3 games (though you do not have to play Myst and Riven in order to play this game). Keywords for Myst3:Exile: patience and thoroughness. If you can't "hang in there" when a solution is beyond your grasp, then this game is not for you. But once you complete all the puzzles and figure out all you must do to reach a successful conclusion, you will experience a great deal of satisfaction!

Summary: Hard but Fun and Full of MYSTery
Review: I've been playing these games since Myst came out and I had a fun ime trying to figure out the puzzles and when I figured them out It unravled the mystery. When Riven came out it was like Myst except better graphics.

Now, With Myst 3: Exile, The graphics are 100% better and I loved the free-look system. The puzzles are more frequent and they're harder but 1 or 2 of them are pretty easy to figure out. The story is well developed and the worlds are expertly designed. The villian in the story is Saavedro and he is phsycotic even more that Sirrus and Achnar in Myst. Overall it is a VERY good game.

Summary: Feel Myst 3
Review: This is the greatest and much better than its predecessors. This takes you on a whole new trip through esoteric regions of your senses. Feel the aura and sensation in inexorable regions of the multi dimensionality of consciousness. Incredible.

Summary: Runs good but...
Review: First let me say that this is a very pretty game and it runs fine on my Macintosh 8600/300. The story is interesting and all that too. I have been a big fan of this series, until now. I think this could have been a lot better. The worlds are tiny and the puzzles are to easy. Most of the worlds only have about 4 puzzles to solve and they even reuse the same ideas more than once so its obvious what you need to do the second time you encounter them. Or they basically give the answer away in the journal pages you collect along your journey. Most of the puzzles didn't take any thought, just some experimenting, which would be fine if there was more of a balance between thought and experimentation. For example the keys the the three main worlds are a complete joke. A monkey could figure it out. Myst and Riven took me awhile to play and a few times I needed a hint to get though them. I breezed through this in less then 24 hours with no snags at all. LAME....

Summary: Best Myst game to date...
Review: I have played all the Myst games, and found this one to be the most immersive, complete, dramatic, and visually stunning. I did have minor technical problems: poor resolution at the start, intermittant FMV at times. But I have an older machine (it does barely exceed minimum requirements) and I attributed the problems to that. They did not seriously detract from my enjoying the game.

With the exception of the Endanna Age, I found the puzzles to be logical and intuitive (unlike in Riven). I really enjoyed the first three ages and found the flow of the story meshed well with the introduction of puzzles. I was much more motivated to solve the puzzles than I had been in Riven. I particularly enjoyed the Amateria Age. I thought is was very well designed. I found the paths in the Endanna age hard to find, and the goal hard to discern (hence the 4 stars instead of 5).

While I did need the Prima player's guide in few spots (especially in the Endanna Age), I don't feel the game was too hard. In fact, I think the designers acheived a very good balance between challenge and flow.

My only other complaint is that I thought the designers cheated us somewhat with the ending (without providing any spoilers, I would have liked to have seen more detail on the fate of one the characters, and I would like to have seen Atrus discuss the resolution of the adventure in more depth).

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. I recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed Myst, or who is interested in a visually stunning, intelligent game.

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: Myst 3 is better than Myst and Riven! The environments are absolutely spectacular, and the gameplay is fantastic! Once you get absorbed in the game, it's hard to stop playing it. Try playing this one at night, while you're alone, and you'll experience the full effect of the game. The best part is, you never know what you're going to find, and every part of the game is important in one way or another. The music is awesome, also (especially the main theme). Give this game a try, and be intigued by the ages and environments you explore!

Summary: Well, I cried at the end........
Review: What a game! We didn't have any glitches, except that sometimes it would shut down, but not much. The graphics are AWESOME the music is AWESOME and the ending is plain SAD. Of course I always find the way to die, but it's still sad. It's VERY tense and scary, and I wouldn't suggest a little kid see the ending....it's really sad :( BUT, it's a GREAT game if you can get it to work on your computer!...

Summary: Myst III. Worthy of the MYST titles or worthy of the...
Review: ...Journeyman Project title? First of all you must understand that this game is made by Presto Studios not Cyan (the original company to design Riven and Myst.) Do you remember the Journman Project series? Same maker. If you compare the graphics quality of Journeyman and say Riven you see a big difference. Becuase of the 360 degree Free look movement system that has been featured in Journeyman project 3 and Myst III, the quality is downgraded. To tell you the truth this game just doesnt seem to make the Myst title. It doesnt quite feel the same as Riven or Myst. The plot is excellent though, just what you would expect in a Myst game. When they say "The Story of Myst continues" they arent kidding. If you are just starting to get into the myst series go ahead and buy Riven, which is the sequel to Myst. I think it might impress you more. If your a hardcore Myst fan, go ahead and buy. It will be a good buy.

Summary: Beautiful landscapes lighting
Review: My family and I have just begun MystIII Exile and we are enjoying it very much. The creators paid a great deal of attention to details in the landscape--lighting, clouds, sounds, that anyone who appreciates natural beauty will enjoy immensely.
