Summary: Assassins
Review: This is an awesome sequel. Play the assassin and that heartless woman will not let you down. 5 acts. Lots of quests to complete, new monsters, and the effects are great. There is an assortment of new spells and skills for each character to learn. FYI, if you love the assassin as much as I did, make sure to train her heavily in the Tiger Claw.

Summary: Lord of Destruction.
Review: ... Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction (2001) is the follow-up to the popular game Diablo 2 (2000), it is the expansion set which unleashes a whole new world for the game.

With the enlistment of the new characters, fans of the game will be excited to see the new special features each character has to offer.

Druid: A male character, this character has the ability to use several elemental attacks, shapeshifting, and summoning skills which involves life or damage enhancing spirits or animals such as ravens, wolves, and a bear. This character specializes in club/maul weapons.

Assassin: A female character, this character has the ability to perform massive melee damage attacks, speed enhancing skills, elemental traps (fire and lightning), and the ability to summon a powerful shadow warrior. The Assassin specializes in the claw weapon.

The expansion pack also includes a new Act, Act 5. Ever since Diablo was destroyed, his brother Baal (as featured on the game cover) has set out to destroy the world. In order to get to Baal, you must pass each Act, just like in the original Diablo 2 game.

The expansion pack includes hundreds of new items. Some of the new items are class-specific. In other words, items only based for one type of character. For example, the newly featured Matriarchal Bow can only be used by an [Amazon] (It also will not work on the Rogue hireling). Items also featured are Runes - Runes have their distinctive abilities when socketed into socketable items. Items can be socketed by completing the first quest of Act 5 and attaining your reward from the Act 5 merchant, Larzuk ( I think that's his name..). Multiple runes can also form into RuneWords - (Listen recipies in which runes are placed into empty socket items in a certain order that grants special abilities). Some runes are very common, while others are very rare and pay a heavy price to trade for. Other new items feature charms. Charms come in three sizes - small (1 inventory space), large (2 inventory space), and grand (3 inventory space). Charms have their own special abilities. Charms can have abilities that enhance your life, mana (used for skills), attributes, skills, resistance, attack rating, and more. Charms are widely used for enhancing the characteristics of a character. Gather them up quickly!

What more to say.. other than Act 5 involves quests that can increase your character's overall resistances, the ability to hire a new hireling (the Sword only Barbarian) and instant increase skill levels. (Depending upon the level of the character and the difficulty, instant skill upgrades are rewarded for defeating 3 challengers).

These new items and new characters are widely used in dueling, magic finding(a special quality that helps increase the chances of finding rarer items), or just having fun doing quests and what not.

When I first got this expansion pack, I was anticipating a lot of changes, and I did. Game-play changes weren't affected as much, only with the addition of a fifth act. However, hundreds of new items make the game more fun to play.

Over the two years it's been out, I would probably advise a warning...

Over the 3 years this game has been out, several hackers have spread thousands of illegal items through the game. This makes the game less challenging and less fun, because certain lovers of [internet store] have their credit cards stripped down so they can enjoy these illegal items and easily dominate the game, which makes it less challenging and more boring when played.

But, there's hope. With a new patch (a file that upgrades the game-play of a game), hundreds of new items and many new abilities will be introduced to the thousands of players on Lord of Destruction. A new feature, the Ladder Realm, where everyone will start out with nothing - NO HACKS!! - are able to complete new quests, find new items, and new items that are only for the Ladder Realm).

Although Blizzard has tried to release this patch soon, it's been in the works for over a year and will probably be released later this year (2003), according to sources. Sources tell us that currently, ideas for the game currently going under examination. They are trying their hardest to get this out as soon as possible.

And if you wanna blame newly released games from Blizzard on this delay, you shouldn't. Blizzard has thousands upon thousands of workers working on separate projects - so this is no excuse for the delay.

Blizzard has also been trying very hard to crack down on the hackers, but with new hacked items that were spread out some months ago, it might be too late. Diablo 2 looks like it's turning into Diablo 1. Diablo 1 was a very popular game and was named Game of the Year, but sadly, hackers took over the game, and there are hardly players (probably a few hundred).

But if you want to have your own individual fun, buy the expansion along with the original Diablo 2 game...

Summary: If you liked Diablo, you'll love this
Review: Just make sure your mousing hand is in good shape. The only problem I found with it is a very tough room to get through on the final level just before the end. But you'll do better than I did, that's for sure. (To quote Danny Glover: I'm too old for this!)

Summary: Addictive, fun, and full of replay
Review: While not as avid gamer, I found myself putting far too much time into this game over the course of my senior year of high school and into the start of college. The expansion pack to Diablo 2 (addicting alone) fixes many of the imbalances, adds a few new and interesting character types, many interesting new additions to gameplay (runes, more weapons, and charms) and the 5th (and arguably best) chapter.

The multiplayer is a good bit of fun, especially with a group of friends or associates who can get along in a cooperative manner.

As far as single player, beating the game of the easiest setting takes a decent amount of time, but the game allows for much more gameplay by making the harder difficulties exponentially harder and full of many new and interesting items. If you can stand this type of game in the least bit, you should enjoy this game.

Summary: Prepare to be Addicted
Review: Wow, I just spent my last 8 hours on my computer. (But that was only playing Diablo) I have had this game for a while, about 4 months, and now it is just getting better. Now that Blizzard is Taking care of the hackers (about 100,000) the gameplay has only been enhanced. I think that anyone who buys this game will be more than satisfied with their purchase and will be dying for the next Diablo game coming out(If there will be one). This is the best computer game I have EVER played and I think everyone will enjoy it.

Summary: Makes the game more in-depth!
Review: When you have defeated Diablo 2, do you ever wonder "That's all?"?

Well have no fear, Lord Of Destruction is here!

I have to admit, I play on Blizzard.net and as I go further into the game I notice how it becomes quite repetitive and boring(listen to a townfolk babble to you, kill big bad monster. Next quest- listen to townsfolk babble, kill big bad monster. You get the gist of it.). So I bought LoD hoping for something a little better... and better is what I got. Even though most of it is pretty much the same, Blizzard did add two new characters, another piece to the storyline, new items and weapons, and charms to help add status points.

I guess you could say it adds more "suspense" to Diablo 2 but frankly, I think they could of made the expansion a little more detailed and interesting. Being that the only thing you really do in Diablo 2 is fight, fight, fight, I thought they would at least make some sort of new interaction or something. But it's still good, and definately does make Diablo 2 a little more enjoyable. So I do suggest you buy this and try it out if you loved Diablo 2 an crave more of it!

Summary: Great addon for a great game
Review: This addon completes the quest and takes care of all three evils.
It also greatly increases the customizability of equipment and jewels & stones. Adding equipment for all levels of characters and types of characters. It also adds two new kinds of characters. Blizzard did an exelent job improving and expanding Diablo II in this expansion.

Summary: I LOVE THIS GAME
Review: This Is the Best Game in the world. If you can post a better game on here I'll eat my words. This Game is addictive (I don't know if its addictive in a good or bad way though). So be warned. This game for me is best online. As it is the same game down to the very last part, exept you can do it with friends via Battle.Net a easy to understand online program. You basicaly are transformed into this internet world with a giant built in chat room and different channels for different gameplay oppsions. However if you are buying this for a kid beware that the online part has alot a profanity that is not avoidable if you are online. But that aside this game will blow you AWAY! It has single player which i found unatractive but your oppinion will vary from mine. Oh ya and playing online is the easyest thing in the world. #1 you connect to the internet (dosn't matter what kind I use 56k). #2 boot up your copy of D2 LOD and click BattleNet key in the middle of screen (this will be after like 20 minutes of cinematics). #3 a screen will come up with a gargoyle holding a clear ball agaist a background with a door in it. this will slowly (or fastly if you have like Cable or DSL)fill with a red substance and when the ball is full the download is complete (this is downloading Bnet). #4 you will now be in the contruct of Bnet, continue to creat an account and make characters from the list you are given. Make a good password though because there are lots of people who would love to have your account and take your characters. Easy to do huh'? I have only 1 piece of advice aftere this piont: Limit yourelf on this game you will waste away in front of it a swear. Have fun. If you have half as much fun with this game as I have you will be in for some good times. ENJOY!!

Summary: I bruised my mouse with this game!
Review: This game is very addicting. I played this through before I checked out the mulitplayer option on Battle.net. That was a whole new experience. There are people trading items from the game, fighting together, killing each other. Its fantastic! Then I bought the expansion pack and realized how well my money was spent. The expansion was soo worth the money giving you better screen resolution, TONS of new items and options, two new character classes, a new HUGE chapter, and some more cinematics. BLizzard didnt skimp when it came to developing what players wanted- MORE DIABLO!! They certainly stuffed the expansion with goodies. BLizzard never lets you down.
