Rating: Summary: Dude, where's my D2? Review: This game is THE most addicting game available. It has no comparison. To start off...You are a hero, of some sort, who can be one of 7 classes. You have to defeat Baal, Lord of Destruction (the game's namesake) for the world to be a safe place for human life. In other words, you run around with a sword and kill people. Sure, it doesn't sound all that entertaining, but I found it quite so, even though I am an avid MOH player. I've stopped playing MOH for some time now. Some reviewers have said that the plot is stupid. I agree. However, one cannot hold this against this game. Aren't ALL RPG plots stupid? This game is a must-buy. Get it now, with reg d2.
Rating: Summary: Best Computer Game Ever Review: When Diablo II came out for the computer in 99, i wouldn't leave my computer for nothing. it's the most detailed game i have ever played. there is near endless articulation to a character and strategie. four tough and mind-blowing acts (or levels, it doesnt matter) that you have to beat. at the end of every act is a major boss and mini bosses all through each act. there are 5 unique characters with their own skills and abilities that will help them in different arear of the game-- But enough about d2, u might b wonderin, ' who cares, what about the expansion?' well the expansion is even better. there is one more act with the hardest boss ever. the act takes place on a mountain that is inhabited by the barbarian tribes (barbs KICK...). u have two more characters: the assasin who is about martial arts and deception and the druid who is into nature... like summoning animals, elemental attacks and transforming into bears and wolves. IF YOU HAVE THIS GAME YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND
Rating: Summary: more than meets the eye Review: It's simply amazing how character development can go in so many directions with this game. Seven character classes are now offered, and focusing on certain options within any of the 3 different "skill trees" of each class can itself forever change the way in which you relate to the game. Characters can become so specialized that names have been attributed to them by players on the Net (where lexicons can also be found); for example, if you choose to play a character from the new Druid class, he can be differentiated into a Shifter, Summoner, Elementist, Botanist, Windbreaker, Bowling Druid, etc. [lingo used by D2:LoD addicts, these aren't terms that the game itself uses]. It could be said that choosing from these different paths renews the playability of the game, as you are forced to figure out new strategies to survive, especially in the Nightmare and Hell difficulty settings. I've been playing this expansion since its release, and can hardly believe how much I have yet to learn. The Druid class is a clever addition to original 5, and quite different from the others; the new Assassin class I cannot in good faith critique, as I have only developed one character from that class. Act 5 has a much different flavor, and disposing of Baal can be a highly frustrating task, if you don't have a plan [Hint: get his back against the wall on the runway, slow him down, and hit him without a pause]. The addition of charms and class-specific items vastly improves your chances for survival, and the new set items are geared towards the more advanced players. However, other improvements put forth in the expansion balance it out in favor of the enemy (e.g., you can no longer dominate simply by having a Level 25 Fire Wall). Multiplayer is still free (discounting the cost of your web hookup, of course). Lately I've discovered several websites devoted to the game, and features of the game that previously made little sense now are revealed as worthwhile to me. If you are getting the impression that this game can create a black hole in your weekly schedule, then I think I have gotten my point across. For example, tonite I am supposed to be reading an article titled "Parenteral Nutrition in Pregnancy," but instead I am researching new strategies to keep my Necromancer alive (can you blame me?) Finally, there is the adrenaline rush motive. When trying to stay alive during some of the more challenging moments, your heart will be racing and you might even break into a sweat. Warnings written in the other reviews (about how addiction to this game can trash your GPA and cause your girlfriend to seek out someone who has never heard of Diablo or its sequels) should be taken very seriously. As a graduate student I came close to smashing the disc on several occasions with the thought of freeing myself...that would doubtless have been a waste of money, as I would have promptly jogged down to the store to pick up another copy.
Rating: Summary: More than meets the eye Review: SLEEP BECOMES OPTIONAL "If I can just make it to the Arcane Sanctuary, I'll call it a night." How many times did I say this, only to see - out of the corner of my eye - the sun come up? This is not kid's stuff...I once watched a girlfriend's 11-year-old son break into tears as he realized he could not defeat Baal, the endgame foe. I counseled him on spending his skill points more sagaciously, but it didn't matter: he found some hacked items on the Web and consequently sailed unimpeded thru the game. I like how Blizzard keeps patching the game, though -- countering the hacks, with each patch moving the original version of Diablo II closer to perfection. Sure, it's a ridiculous game in many ways, but when you reach the Nightmare and Hell difficulty modes what you come to care about is survival, not how much sense it all makes...

Rating: Summary: Good game but... Review: This is a really great game, you really love seeing your character get stronger and stronger. However this review is about the BAD things about this game. I only have a few problems with this game. 1. The battling is somewhat uneventfull, as in, if you're not using magic it's just chop chop chop, then the guy jumps in the air and dies. 2. After a while this game gets eXtremely boring, continuously chopping and hacking away at random things, running out of stanama reguarly, nothing much happens, not including the videos. The story is probably what makes up this game, but hey, it's still good!
Rating: Summary: Best computer game EVER Review: Diablo and its more recent followers are the best RPG games EVER. I got DiabloII LOD the week it came out for $50 and I must say, it was worth every penny. D2 has an amazing arsenal of weaponry and armor and is incredibly re-playable (unlike NeverWinter Nights which was only good once). D2 is best on multiplayer and now, due to 1.10 patch, virtually hack and cheat free. Now I asume you've gathered that I am a huge fan of D2 but, hey it's a great game and worth every cent. Hey if you get and don't like it( your an absolute moron and don't have any brains OR your another one of the evil morality police), this is just another review by an ecentric RPG game player.
Rating: Summary: One of the greats... Review: Diablo II with the expansion pack (of course) is one of my absolute favorite video games. What started out being a game that I tried out of curiosity as to why my husband spent so much time on, rapidly became an addiction for me as well. My absolute favorite character to play is the assassin. She's fun. She's a vicious fighting machine that relies on her stealth and close combat. She's like a girl barbarian crossed with parts of the other characters all rolled into one. I began by just playing the game on the computer, and worked my way to playing on lan with my husband. Now I've graduated to playing on the lan while on battle.net. My husband and I have a friend that we used to play with in Seattle, and playing this game on battle.net has made it to where we can still keep in touch with him and play together just like we used to. The new patch that battlenet has put out has definitely made Diablo II challenging once again. Hacked characters and map-packs are once again a thing of the past. People are forced to start new characters from scratch and everyone is back on an even playing field. No more lvl 28 characters killing lvl 70 characters b/c they are being funded with hacked items. The new patch has made it frustrating if you are trying to play your original characters, but if you start over, you'll find that it all balances out. It also brings back the fun that was originally experienced in the game to begin with.
