Summary: THOROUGHLY OVER-RATED
Review: This expansion simply isnt worth the bother. Sure its fun for about a day or two but if i wanted to have fun for a day id buy a bottle of vodka, its a lot cheaper. And the thing is with vodka, by the time you decide its not worth it, you wouldve got out of it what you bought it for- not suddenley realizing that it lacks originality, depth and wastes your time when you could be off doing more meaningful things (like drinking vodka).
There are some major problems with this expansion pack-

1] Wow! Cool! 2 new characters! Sick! Only after you shell out yr precious (money) (enough for 2 bottles of vodka) you realize that the druid is simply a mix of the necro the soceress and the barb made to look all fancy (ooh! look! im a wolf! meow!) and improves gameplay by zilch and the assassin, whilst basically the most original part of the pack was about as exciting to play as an empty bottle of vodka. Boy i had so much fun! yeah! [snore]
If you want this for the new characters, dont bother. Theyre nothing new and nothing great (and the druids overpowered anyway). Go play an amazon or necro in standard d2.

2) Wow! Cool! A whole new act! Ice! Mad! it doesnt even look like ice! More like the dark templar world from starcraft! Mad!
And the environments all look the same! and the NPCs are boring as! The quests are so much fun too! kill this-kill that-find this-find that! Not repetitive at all! The only way you can tell what level youre playing is by checking up on the nearest waypoint! (in other words- its a bore)
There is some good but- the little 'extra' levels stylized like the river of flame. theyre cool. and theres no level called 'vodka brewery'

3) The new items. Blizzard i think has a special formula for items "ooh! lots of people want an itme like that! well put in the xpack! and one like that! and one like that too! ooh! cool!"
All bonus items are gimmicky and designed to attract buyers.
A the real (...) thing is they unbalance the game to the point where dying is as rare as planetary alignment. and with mana health and rejuvenation potions they couldve at least added a vodka one instead

4) Now this is what really pissed me of- the monsters. Now there are several problems with these things too.
a] There are virtually now ranged attack monsters in the entire act. Even half the existing succubus are melee creatures. And most creatures with ranged attacks suck anyway (overseers?)
b] The monsters were highly unimaginative. A kid with a bottle of vodka could think up much better monsters. They pale compared to teh rest of d2
c] the bosses are kinda screwed. Baal is cool, but hes too easy. His ranged attacks hurt but for the most powerful of the greater evils hes much easier than the others- even mephisto. He may seem hard at first, u have to work out a way to kill him, but even that aint hard. And why does the sub-boss Nihlathak have a greater mlvl than the end boss? And Minions of Destruction? They('re bad) too- and theyre harder than the end boss, or anything else for that matter.
d] "enhanced AI" Need i say more?
Mind you, there are some cool creatures. Minotaurs are not so imaginative but they do liven up gameplay comsiderably. Defilers are imaginative but (bad), the Ancients were an idea but theyre too easy. But the one monster which really makes act v come to life is the frozen horror- undeniably cool. If yr gonna buy the xpack for one reason, this is it.

e] the storyline. a kid with a box of crayons could do better.

Overall, all the hype surrounding this was just that- hype. This pales to other great rpg xpacks like hellfire and throne of bhaal. It is fun though for a while but it simply doesnt really do much for diablo 2. This expansion is much like a bottle of vodka- u can finish it off in about an hour.

Summary: The Best RPG game ever
Review: This game is a must have. The 800x600 enhances it a lot, and the two new chars (Druid and Assasin) make it even better. The areas have been updated, as well as the weapons. Any old owners of D2 will ove this game and keep coming back for more. This is a game that people of all skill levels can enjoy.
P.S.- the sorceress is the best character in the game.

Summary: not as big as what i have expected
Review: I am sorry to say this but act 5 is not big enough for me, but very interesting indeed.
I don't like those two new characters but I am glad that I am able to explore more about my babarian life.
However, it is very strange that I can't have act 5 fully installed on to my hard disc, so it is not only a mouse-killing game, but also a CD-ROM killing game now.

Summary: Great Game
Review: The Expansion really adds to the game play in many ways.First The increased stash size really really helps you lot espcially with all of the new powerful weapons you get in the games such as the oculus for the sorc and also there are armor sets specifically designed to enhance you character. This game is best suited for multi player becasue once you get friends to play you can challenge them to a duel or just trade with them. Also things get easier in multi player , becasue you can gang up on really tough bosses such as Baal and Diablo. This game has great replay vaulue because there are 3 difficulties one you beat another and the harder the game gets the more expericence you get and also better stuff.Once you beaten all 3 difficulties and need a challenge then try a hardcore character where you only get one life and if you lose that life then your character is gone.If you buy Diablo 2 then this is a must buy too.

Summary: Addiction
Review: This game is amazing. When the newness of this game wears off, simply go online at battlenet and the game is new once again. I won't go on about all the little details, but with 7 characters (amazon, barbarian, paladin, sorceress, necromancer, druid and assasin) and 3 different skill trees, you can create unlimited types of characters. If you ever get tired of one, just switch to another or research a new skill tree. Honestly, my girlfriend hates Blizzard and wishes this game was never invented. The only fault is that this game has a high probability of becoming addicitive.

Summary: Repetitive, but a good expansion
Review: Like many other reviews, I found this game to have a "wow" factor for the first few hours, but it wasn't very long before I noticed that every area you explore is exactly the same. No matter what level you are, its the same wilderness, same caves, same crypts, etc. The scenery barely changes, and the monsters are exactly the same, just change colors for higher levels. The quests are all the same, either "kill person X" or "retrieve item X." I cannot stress enough how much repetition is in this game, and it got very boring, very fast.

Even for a hack and slash arcade style game, it is lacking. Combat consists only of walking up to a monster and clicking your mouse until its dead. Occasionally you will have to hit one of your number keys to drink a heal or mana potion, but thats basically it.

Don't expect anything new in this game. It has no depth or adventure, its really just an updated version of the old arcade game "Gauntlet." If you have never played any graphic adventure games or the original Diablo, you may enjoy this for a while. But veteran game players, especially those who have played any of the Baldur's Gate series games, or any MMORPG players who have played Everquest, Ultima Online, or Asheron's Call will very likely find this game incredibly boring and shallow. Its only value is as an action, hack and slash style game for a first time game player.

Multiplayer is not much better, as the quests and areas to explore are exactly the same as the single player game, you just get to play with friends. There are extremely large patchs to download if you plan on playing over a network. This game cannot even come close to competing with MMORPG's.

In summary, this game was mostly hype. The great reviews it received are likely from people who just got the game and have only played for a few hours before reviewing it. The game's success is likely from first time players and those with no experience with MMORPG's or other graphic or RPG games. If you are new to these type games, I could recommend it for your first game experience, otherwise, you might want to take a pass.

Summary: Best Game I Have Ever Played
Review: D2: LOD is the best game I have ever played. I have a level 22 Druid and a level 20 Assassin. I have beat the first D2 and I think that the expansion set is a great new addition. This game is a definate "must have" for all serious gamers.

Summary: Great Game; not-so-great for GPA
Review: The "Blizzard" mark on the box almost garanteed the value of this game. Improvements such as the 800x600 pixles support and two new character classes make it a must-buy for all original DiabloII owners. The elaborate art work and background music of the additional episode 5 are especially impressive. This expansion set has greatly improved the overall gamming experience of this best-selling title "Diablo".

However, one of the biggest flaw of this game is that the multiplayer conncetion to Battle.net is still rather unstable and laggy when the traffic to the game servers are heavy. Playing this game on Battle.net wagers a considerable amount of risk to see your character stop moving for a while and later find it lay dead on the ground. Or you may see your character getting killed by "invisible" enemies. If you choose to play on Battle.net realm, I strongly suggest a realiable ISP provider(preferably cable connection) and a high-speed computer.

Overal Blizzard did a decent job designing the two character classes: the druid and assasin. The new skills associated with the character are unique and fun for original DiabloII owners. The shape shifting skill is revolutionary and the "Martial arts" of the assasins is a selling-feature for this add-on. However, having to play over the original 4 acts with all 3 difficulty levels to finish the game might make this game a bit repetitive. Nonetheless, the exciting actions of game-play has made many Expansion owners play through all 5 act of the 3 difficulty levels with all 7 characters- You get to kill Baal 21 times by doing so. One pack of this game virtually consits a value of 7. The bad is that some of the gameplay adjustments from Blizzard in this Expansion has made the very-time-consuming original "Diablo" even more time-consuming. For those who has much time to kill this one is excellenct for it. But for those who doesn't, or for students who lacks self-control this game could be a cruel GPA killer.

Overall, Blizzard has done a great job making "DiabloII Expansion: Lord of Destruction", A must-buy for original Diablo owners, great actions and multiplayer desings for all RPG lovers. But be sure to evaluate your computer hardware as well as time management before buying this game.

Summary: Good addition to the game
Review: This addition really brings back a lot of interest with a new act, and more items. It adds a couple more hours to the gameplay and has kept me playin on Battle.net for another month or so.
