Rating: Summary: an awesome game, a must! Review: this game is absolutely awsome. The story line is superb and the gameplay is great. The best thing about it though is the multiplayer battlenet mode. Its fun because you dont know what the opponents going to do unlike a predictable computer. I also like that there are diffirent races each with their own abilites and strengths. If you have any sense you will go and buy this game now.

Rating: Summary: Hears my Thoughts Review: No way, some people say that this game has a [boring] storyline and is a horrible game. First of all I noticed that most people who state negative things about this game can't spell and use limited grammer. The second thing that I notice is that they all like Red Alert 2 a game that [is bad]. Personally I prefer C&C Tiberian Sun but Star Craft is a fine addition to my strategy game collection. It has a very mature and well thought out storyline which makes the game interesting. I would say that the Cinematic Cut Scenes in between Missions are great but my computer has poor integrated graphics; OUCH! The way that Blizzard has managed to make a game which you can play three totally different species with their own totally different units and structures makes this game better than C&C; except Tiberian Sun which I love. This game is great and the chest pack comes with everything for a measely 20 bucks god how could you call it a bad deal sheash. It even comes with two official strategy guides that really are fun to read and learn about the game-ha try burning that for free off the internet! Hey if your wondering if you should buy this game wonder no more all of the smarter people love this game and man let me tell you, you would have to be dum like those people who hate the game and can't spell to hate this game. Rock on this game is tight at least until I purchase the Diablo chest pack. For those of you who hate this game I'll tell you this Blizzard worked extremly hard on this game and I'm supprise of how well they made this game...
Rating: Summary: starcraft / brood warz = the BEST PC game Review: i have played brood wars for the past 3 years everyday for atleast 10 hours per night and after playing it soo much i decided it was the BEST game ever!! there is no other game that can compare! other games like counterstrike has no chance over starcraft!!
Rating: Summary: But it Review: This game is great. There's no question. If you have any dought, just look at these posts. When I wrote this, there were 158 posts, the latest being in Feb. 2002. This game was realeased in 1998, and thousands of people are still playing it everyday. The game can not get old, with the campaign editor, the limit really is your imagination. Like anything online, you have to watch out for certain people, but if your careful its extremely obvious which games you should avoid. If you ever do get bored (highly un-likely) of this game, you can join a "clan", kind of like a club or online community for Starcraft players to liven things up. There is a downside...I actually had to sell my copy of Starcraft because I played it so much, this game is ADDICTING. Put a limit on yourself or you will find yourself playing way too often. Buy this Battlechest because you need the ex-pansion pack anyways and get in on a great game.
Rating: Summary: A great RTS game! Review: I remember 3 years ago when I stumbled onto the StarCraft Battle Chest at Electronics Boutique. I was so filled with joy that I found it for my Macintosh computer - I heard many good reviews of the game. Little did I know that it would ensnare my life...
As soon as I got home, I opened the box and installed both Starcraft and Brood War. Never before and since have I found a Real Time Strategy game with the same combination of storyline and gaming feel (No not even Warcraft III). The single player storyline holds onto your attention as it seamlessly slips from one mission to the next... from one race to the next. The actual game play is awesome. The three races are diverse and balanced very well. No units stick out as being undefeatable. Each race allows for many options in battle strategies.
But two things make this game playable for years - Battle.net and the editor. I remember when I was in 11th grade and talked all my friends into buying Starcraft. We would come home after school and play from 4 until 10 or 11. In the end, we would just call each other and say "Craft?" and the other person would answer either "yes" or "no" and then we would proceed to play if "yes" was said. Then as the creative juices start to flow, the editor is available to create entire campaigns, or just one map. It adds to the longetivity of this game.
Indeed, Starcraft is a great game! From story line to playability, this game has it all. I totally suggest it to anyone who wants a game that will provide you with hours and hours of gameplay.
Rating: Summary: Probably the Best RTS Game of All Time Review: Starcraft is built on the same game engine as Warcraft II, and builds upon Blizzard's brilliant work in the area of RTS games. The graphics are very good, and expand upon the concept of isometric viewpoint games by warping the perspective slightly to give a more realistic perspective. One cannot discuss Starcraft without commenting on the cinematics. Blizzard has produced a series of 3D movies delivering the storyline to the game in a way that rivals the best sci-fi films. Given their brilliance in both 3D rendering as well as storytelling, one must wonder if Blizzard plans on making a motion picture based upon the game. However, what has given Starcraft staying power is the gameplay itself. The AI is very good, giving players many hours of competitive play against the computer. And the inclusion of an excellent map editor gives players the ability to design an infinite variety of maps and modules, as well as to download maps created by others in the Starcraft community from any number of fan sites. If you like RTS games, Starcraft is the best one ever made.
Rating: Summary: The best game ever made Review: I played all Blizzard games including WarCraft III ... StarCraft is the best game ever made ... graphics are cool ... i like that 2D 3D effects ... the best multiplayer game I ever played. You must buy all Blizzard games ... Blizzard games are the best games in the world.
Rating: Summary: Still The Best!!! Review: I've been a gamer for a long time, and I've played my share of strategy games. I still keep comming back to Starcraft for more. Three perfectly balanced and yet very different races battle it out. There's not too much micromanagement to kill you, but enough for you to feel a part of the race you're playing. I love to play the extra scenerios that they created for one time battles. You can modify them or even create your own from scratch. I just wish they had a random map maker. It would be easier then. You can, however, go online to Blizzard and download tons of scenerios that other gamers made. While the graphics aren't state of the art anymore they still are pretty nice. This game allows for both a strategic approach or the full rush type of battle. You have both land and air units and you harvest two types of materials (vespene gas & minerals) to build your structures and units. The campaigns are nice but after beating them twice I now just prefer to mix it up with the single scenerios. This is a must have of any strategy gamer who hasen't yet tried it. Have fun!!!
Rating: Summary: Not as original as warcraft (sigh) Review: This is a fun game, and easy to play even if you don't know the warcraft-style control format. The story is a little cheesier that warcraft, and the screen is much smaller, leading to lots of squinting and difficult targeting of enemies. The progression of missions, though, is intriguing. I'll bet that Warcraft 3 turns out to be more fun, however.
