Rating: Summary: It's O.K. Review: This game is ok, but my copy was very jerky. I called to have it checked and they said that it was normally that way. There were good graphics and the game was much better than the first
Rating: Summary: AWESOME! Review: This has to be my favorite game in the series. If you are interested you really should play Myst and Riven first. I have read the 3 books which also helped with understanding the story. The whole series is very deep and engrosing, a must play for Middle Earth fans as well! A+

Rating: Summary: INCREDIBLE Review: Unbelievable graphics. It's truly is a technological breakthrough. I'm running 192 megs of RAM and the game runs as smooth as silk .... no jerky video or lock-ups. Your aloud to look in every direction, and believe me .... you'll want to. I've only completed the initial sets of puzzles and they're challenging but not impossible to figure out. Just remember to hide the hint book that comes with this edition .... It's more rewarding to yourself if you figure the puzzles out on your own. Visually this is the best game ever .... I'll have to finish it before I decide if it's the best overall.
Rating: Summary: Collector's Edition: Excellent game, excellent story, but... Review: Well, here we go again! Another Myst game that may take some flak from hardcore gamers who just don't understand why Myst is so popular. If interactivity (or lack of) is a concern, the interface of Myst III resembles somewhat that of another Presto Studio game, Journeyman Project III (hum... both are THIRD version games... Coincidence?!?) So it is NOT a slide show! Graphics are amazing. Details are sharp, even better than Riven, which is still superb, even to this day. And the thing that makes this game bite is that the movies are integrated into the scenery, which makes watching a cutscene or looking at an event while panning around possible! You still have full control over you point of view, even when an event is playing! (Please download a video clip from somewhere like at Gamespot.com for better understanding) And this without any detail degradation! (Of course, some cutscenes inevitably remove "control" of your panning...) Music and sound effects are, as usual, top notch. However, the music in Myst III suffers from an identity crisis, much like Riven. In the first game, you would be able to hum the opening them, as well as the theme of different places and characters. In Myst III, except for the Main Theme, there is not much in ways of "personalities". It does, however, convey emotion to a scenery very well. Then, there are the puzzles. Here however, I feel they are more implemented as "prop" then as part of the world. The puzzles seem... out of place, as if puzzles were part of the inhabitants' daily routine... Oh well... Another thing that may be frustrating is the lack of sense of navigation. The game does not cue the player when it is possible to go in a particular direction. Unless there is a path visible, this may become very challenging, especially in a very organic world (and yes, there is one in this game...) The box came with a Prima Game Hint book (20$ US value), which should only be used as a last resort, since spoilers will be very apparent! The "making of" movie was cool! And the different trailers were a nice bonus (but they are already available on the Net). The soundtrack is very well done, but as I said before, lack personality. The Bonus Pewter "Squee" (hey! I did not come up with that name!) is cute, but not "Collector" level quality. Basically, it is a good kit. And you even save money if you intend to use the hint book or listen to the soundtrack! Oh! And the game is very good. Flawed, but fun!
Rating: Summary: Board Games?!?!?! Review: Well, what can I say. THis game has great acting, good graphics, emursive worlds, and overall good gameplay. The only thing I don't like about it is that the buzzles are to descrete. Its almost as if they were meant to look like they were meant to be puzzles. It can't be something like myst where the puzzles are there for a logical reason, and it can't be like Uru where the puzzles were blended in with the enviroment so the game was harmonic, and it can't be like riven where the puzzles are not puzzles, but problems you had to face that required some brain power. THese puzzles, even though they go with the suroundings, they still are too descrite. I mean, its almost like they were ment for you. THings here aren't what they used to be. The puzzles themselves are quite impresive, but the way that they blend in with the age is like sticking srawberries in orange juice. For one thing, yet another puzzle is actually a puzzle age in itself. Its all puzzle and really seems like it was meant for your presance, not like it had any real fuction outside your enjoyment. Even the plant age has that. Lense flowers that focus the sun's light on large bulbs that hold electic fish and power plant machines. Even thier idea of a balaced enviroment is even more descrete. THe lense flower couldn't've just grown there without there being a purpouse. I mean really, how deep do you want me to get.
Rating: Summary: Amazed in Disbelief Review: What to say... After Riven, I thought it was not possible to get any better. The puzzles in Riven were very challenging, yet very logical when solved. The graphics were amazing. I got Exile the day after it was released, having been shipped next day air by Amazon. My friend and I started playing it on the 9th. We're both students, so aside from having class during the day, and meals, we played this game every waking hour until we beat it on the 12th. What an amazing game. The graphics were stunning. The puzzles were yet again challenging, yet logical. After solving a puzzle, you weren't annoyed by the fact that the answer lay in some obscure clue. You were excited by the fact that you figured out what to do based on what you knew. I don't know what else to say except, buy this game. Buy it now. The soundtrack and making of CD are cool, so I would say that this Collector's Edition is worth it. But, if you don't think you'd listen to the soundtrack, then you're probably better of just getting the regular version of the game. The only thing left that I have to say, is I hope this style of game continues somehow. Whether it be a Myst IV, or a game similar to the Myst style. I want it. I will definitely buy any new game that comes out in this series. The Myst game series has brought much joy to me! :)
Rating: Summary: LOVED IT Review: When I heard cyan wasn't making Exile I was a little worried. But as soon as I started playing I knew I had worried for nothing. The 360 view is cool and the music is amazing. Most of the puzzels arn't as hard as Riven but they are still challenging. This is drffiatly a wonderful game. It definatly lives up to the Myst name.
