Summary: A new story concept
Review: This Game is fair to the high standards of Blizzards and has on its own developed a new kind of PC Strategy Story Board.
The new concept of the Heroes does fairly well and adds a large chunck to the development of the story, which is without doubt excellent, interweaving four different fates, never lacking suspense or surprise.

The graphics do very well in the game play, but are just three steps ahead from being cartoonish. Overall the Story takes to much from the gameplay and the strategic thinking of the player
often bends under the weight of the already compeltely scripted story board. This Game, rather then being an excellent strategy Game, deserves to stand on its own as a high quality entretaining product, developed with passion and a love for detail.

Summary: Rise Of Nations is WAY better. War3x Stinks
Review: Okay I was a beta tester for this game and over the course of the beta i liked it a bit at FIRST. What an Unfortunate occurence that they took what could have been a great game in it's early stages and every single new patch that came out just kept ruining the game more and more. A new patch would come out and i'd have hopes they'd undo some of the lame changes they made and wouldn't you know it, they only made the changes worse.
I would say the only positive elements to this game were being able to "cue" your upgrades(hence the 1 star) and making the Undead a much better race. All in all your still limted to THREE races while a RTS called Rise of Nations has 18 RACES ! YES my friends 18 races to choose from all with thier own UNIQUE UNITS. Best of all your never limited to a specific build order and you have things like Attrition damage and National Boundaries. Things life Forts and Towers actually do damage and don't fall instantly to fire.

After playing some other games like Rise of Nations i realized that Blizzard is making this more for thier youngest CORE gamers and players and well them youngins can have it. I'd say it aimed more for the 12-18 range than anything else. So you Blizzard Fanboys can have your Frozen Throne i'll just keep playing Rise of Nations and have a blast.

Older more mature gamers who want a little more thought and a little less repetition should get Rise of Nations.

It's Blizzard. and as much as i hate them I did buy it just for the new World Editor, so i can UNDO Blizzard's changes and actually have a LITTLE fun with it. Guess i'll be stuck playing custom games.
That is not a sign of a great game. A sign of a great game is being able to play any style, multiplayer, against the AI, random people on battle.net or your friends. It's just not worth it to only be able to play custom games...

I'd like to mention this game got a 4 out of 5 rating while Rise of Nations got a 5 out of 5. Guess who got Real Time Strategy right ? NOT Blizzard ! I hope some from blizzard reads this review and maybe just maybe they'll take a look at Rise of Nations and figure out what to do right next time.

Review: [...]As for warcraft: Great Graphics..Single player is boring until you get beyond the Undead part, then is owns...no it isn't better then StarCraft, no RTS will EVER be better then StarCraft (Except maybe StarCraft 2). Summary: After That Chaos
Review: -I believe that Frozen Throne is going to have great rating on it. There many new feature that reign of chaos don't have. I think blizzard has gone too far with this serious type of game, it too nice (The Game).... The other good new is that you don't need reign of chaos to install frozen throne only if you like to play the orginal campaign. P.S: My Warcraft sn is Chinese. Chiggaz if you want to challenge me please whisper to me.

Summary: WoW its the the the EXPANSION!!!!!
Review: Yaaaaaaahhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!

I am sooooo happy!!! I cant wait. Ok Ok. IF any one has played warcraft 3 this is a must buy. This game is the sequel to war3. War3 was an amazing game so there is no question that this will also be an amazing game. Also I recommend it because it is made by BLIZZARD any game made by them is a must buy. The game offers 2 more units per race and one more hero. It adds bunch of more upgrades as well as techniques. the game offers 5 more neutral heros some new buildingsfor each race and a tavern (new neutral building) which lets you buy neutral heros. There are a bunch of new items as well. The game has new water creeps and transports!!! This game will offer plenty of new strats. To make the game even more chalenging. sugest this game to anyone who loves Blizzard or any RTS game.

Summary: Turtles!![.] New Expansion fixes all......
Review: They added those nifty aquatic creeps! Turtles! But on to the point. It will most importantly amend the issues of each team being the same. It'll add the ability to block spells (human), sheer clobberin' power to the Night Elves in the form of giants, for undead they get a new hero who can summon units, and for orcs they get a new troll hero which can polymorph the foe better than a Sorceress. Humans also get a Blood Mage, with extremely destructive spells. Night Elves get the fastest unit in the game, with the new "Blink" short range teleport ability. Also there will be alot more focus on combat agains creeps, which is good in my opinion. Yay! Im gettin this the first day its out.

Summary: Blizzard games are the best
Review: Warcraft III is one of the best strategic game out there, like most all blizzard games. It has a unique interface were there a movie scenario inside the game which gives it a unique story line for the player to get to know the characters. Playing as all four races also give the player all points of view to the storyline, it also makes for one hell of a multiplayer game. An aspect of the game is that each race lets you develope your own strategy to take on apponents, persay you want to make a whole lot of riflemen but riflemen arn't that strong so you build a small force of knights to take the blows of an on coming force while your rifle men send a hail of bullets down on the enemy. The games world editor looks pretty awesome and thats about all I can say about it, it's really confusing. Some things I can say about it it that you can customize your units, you can chage there color or size or even weapon attack. You can even make your own in game movies, I don't know how but I'm sure someone does.

Summary: Poor single-player experience
Review: I only wanted this game for its single-player campaign. For multiplayer, there are any number of titles I could choose from, so why pay more money for the same basic gameplay? I was hoping for a story as engaging as Starcraft, but I was extremely disappointed. The "protagonist" in the campaign held no appeal for me. I was unable to get into the game because I just didn't care whether he lived or died. I quit playing after about 8 missions because the story just wasn't compelling.

Bottom line: If you are looking for a good single-player experience, look elsewhere.

Summary: awesome
Review: this expansion pack is going to comletely change WC3 for the better... WC3+expansion will definatly be one of the best RTS games for quite some time. I'm currently beta testing the game, so i should be able to give a rough idea of how it should turn out for the final release. Lot's of new features (i'm not going to get into details that are already avialable at the expansion pack website, for you can read there yourself)....

- my favorite new hero is the orc hero.... its like a powerfull voodoo witchdoctor..... most notable is his healing spell (which finally gives orcs a healing option for early game) which acts like chain lightning, but has a healing effect.
- spellcasters have been changed.... their attack type is now "magic attack"..... their armor type is now "unarmed". I won't get into the details of how the attack and armor works, because they are likely to be modified for final release.
- spellcasters now have inventory! a 2 slot inventory.
- ancients now have heavy armor when uprooted (makes ancient rushing a little harder i guess)
- all races can now build item shops with items unique to each civ. Most notible is that each civ's item shop gets a unique orb... orcs get orb of lightning ;D.... orbs arnt available until tier3 though and cost about 400gold on current beta.
- cyclone is now dispelable
- crypt fiends (and other undead units) can learn the burrow ability which lets them dig into the ground and act as a spy/regen health
- you can now buy transport BOATS (at goblin shipyards)... this should make for some interesting water maps hopefully.
- orc burrows can be upgraded to heavy burrows which have fortified armor instead of medium.
- when units are following a hero, they mimic the heros actions.. i.e. if hero attacks, following units will also attack instead of just sitting there watching :p
- for people with slower computers, you can now adjust the spell detail level, which was a source of lag at times on older machines.
- minimap now has a creep mode. it highlights creep camps on the map via a grey circle; the bigger the circle the bigger the creeps.

BNET will be much improved too.... here are some features i've tried out on the current wc3x beta servers...

- built-in clan support! you can now create clans. there are now 2 friends lists basicly: the original friends list, and a new clan member list. The creator of the clan gets a cheiften icon, assistant's to the leader get shaman icons, normal members get grunt icons, and new members (initiates) get peon icons until they are officially accepted into the clan. There are also clan ladders and clan stats!
- Now you can stay in the chat room while searching for a game. After you choose game criteria (1v1, 2v2, maps, civ) and click search... the search screen minimizes to a small box in the topright and takes u back to the chat room. The small box tells you how long you have been waiting, and what the average wait time is for that game type.

Anyways, i can't wait for this to go final! it will make a great rts game even better!

Summary: Fun RTS game, not too much strategy involved
Review: Being a player of Age of Mythology and Starcraft, this game doesn't have much strategic decisions compared to those games. I must admit this game is much better than Starcraft and can be as good as Age of Mythology depending on the way you play.

Pros: Tons of Fun
Easy to learn
Balanced Races
Heroes add to fun factor and strategy
Amazing Multiplayer

Cons: Graphics are a bit blocky
Not too much strategy involved
Fairly easy to master
No sea units =(
Mindless Singleplayer campaign
Computer A.I. is equivelant to Age of Empires 2

Bottom Line: This game is the best choice for a player that's new to real time strategy games but players that easily master most R.T.S. games and are looking for a challenging R.T.S. game that has much more strategy involved should think of getting Age of Mythology.
