Summary: The Novelty Wears Thin...
Review: ...after playing for a few hours. If you have the time to waste and have absolutely nothing to do with your life, this "game" is for you. Ah well, perhaps we ask for too much. To be fair, the animation and personalities of the Sims are pretty lifelike and truly amazing. Perhaps so amazing that we are surprised by their limitations. Although an improvement on the original Sims game, this enhancement is surprisingly limited in its offerings. I do like the new textures, objects, heads, and bodies. The robot is cool but you have to make your little Sims charactors turn it on. The cool thing is that the robot replaces your maid, your gardener, and the repair man, and the refrigerator as well. For 15,000 Simolians, it better. The cockroaches are just downright annoying as is the accompanying screams of disgust by the Sims as they stoop futilly into exhaustion, ignoring need for shower, enjoyment, social activity, and work. Things that remain the same: no matter how many bathrooms you put into your house, the Sims will all crowd into one and then pee on the floor, stand there and wave their arms and scream and yell. Hmmm... Sometimes they will all get stuck and eventually starve to death. Actually the most interesting things are the incidents that don't happen often -- like all of the Sims catching a cold and dying rather quickly and alarmingly. Surprisingly, there are still only four roof textures to choose from and only three roof pitches and only one style. We still can't put windows on angled walls. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all still the same brown & green plate of food (Accept for the salads and the light meals). The kids are limited by the fact that they get sent to military school (and nobody seems to care when they leave) rather than turn into juvenile delinquents. I have always felt that they should turn into teenagers after a time, and then adults, and be forced to get low paying jobs at fast food restaurants and be given the option of earning a GED. Currrently, their dialog ranges from unbearably cute to absolutely annoying. I would have expected some curved walls in the build mode, more roof choices, walls that perhaps came with a color palate. Having the option of a basement, or attic would be nice. The Mac versions of these games are rather limited by comparison to the PC versions. The downloads don't seem to work for the Mac by itself. People have said that it will work but you still need a PC to download the items. Many of us only have one computer so it really doesn't help. We are also deprived of the face and body editor, etc. I would say that the best way to enjoy this game is to build the house, create the charactors, get them jobs, put it on fast mode, and then walk away and go about your life, go out with friends, etc. Check on it a few hours (or days!) later and see what developes. Sure, buy it. If you like games that NEVER END and require endless time to improve the quality of life of your little Sim families, you'll love it. If you are totally twisted and want to see the lives of the little Sims get ruined, you will love it too. Something for everyone if you have the time to waste.

Summary: Good, but not perfect
Review: Buy Livin' Large when your interest in the original game starts to subside. Its best feature is the 4 new neighborhoods that allow room for more families, but the new objects, body types, and career possibilities are fun too. My one disappointment was that the new objects are predominantly high-end or just decorative; Sim families that are still starting out and have little money must stick mainly to the original objects (bookcases, computers, etc.) in order to gain career advancement skills.

Summary: So cool! So cool! A must have! A must have!
Review: Hiya folks! ( ALERT! ) This game is awsome! It is for parents and kids age's 10 + up! Very very good! In this game game there are o' lot more furniture, clothing, and alot of other cool things. This game is also tight becuz when ur sims die they can be brought back 2 life if you win rock, paper scisors with the Grim Reaper. Other funny characters are: The depressed clown, The Genie of the lamp and the $15,000 robot who cleans, repairs, and gardens ur flowers. The bad things about this game are just some little insects crawl around the floor, so ur sims have to go over a spray em'. Hehe! Also, ur sims can catch a strange sickness and quickly die from it and i think it is contageous. You know there sick if they cough and stuff. ( I still didn't find a cure from that, also i know beacause both my sims died from that.) Overall this is an awsome game everyone should have!

Summary: Awsome
Review: I found Livin' Large to be the better of the two expansion packs currently out for Mac. The items and decorative touches give you a wonderful array of options that don't insist you stick with the same ol' scheme. I especially like the array of lighting options, mainly the garden lights and candelabras.

Summary: Great addition - worth the buy!
Review: I found this to be a great addition to the game play. New neighborhoods - FUN new jobs. The skins and furniture are a lot better. The robot to replace the maid is annoying. Yay for the vibrating bed, finally my sims can get the luvin' they deserve - but watch out you might get a baby! The clowns, genie, and arguing with death really ad a new (but bizarre) twist. However, the new wall papers are TACKY - perfect to create your own love shack. I do recommend this to rekindle interest in the game. Still, be sure to check out the 7deadlysims website and thewelldressedsim website for more objects and skins that are MAC friendly!

Summary: Could it get any more annoying that this?
Review: I must admit that this expansion adds what it promises. i will spare you a listing of what's new and improved and get straight to the point of what is new but makes the game unenjoyable - at least under certain conditions. I have one word for you: Clown! Now, I like playing this game as much as anyone but when my Sims get visited by that annoying Clown I have to turn the computer off and leave the game be. It makes me want to uninstall the expansion altogether. You can't ask the Clown to leave (cause it won't) and your Sims live get forced into interactions that I don't want them to have at all and that add nothing to gameplay except frustration. Fortunately, however, the Clown only appears if certain requirements are met. Nonetheless, I keep thinking that I must be missing something with this game. it just does not seem addictive to me. while I find myself playing such games as Age of Empires even years after purchasing them, I am getting fairly tired of the sims after only a few weeks. So, I have created nice families or singles, I have made them work out, read, or build up their charisma, i even created a house full of criminals. I have bought all there is to buy, have build various houses of all sorts of sizes and designs, I have had wild parties, and made many friens, and now i simply don't know why I should ever return to the game.

Summary: Awesome Game!
Review: I think that this is an awesome game. If you like The Sims then this game will be your favorite. You get plenty of new items to choose from to build and furnish your house, and you get 50 new lots! The new careers are pretty cool. This is the perfect game if you are looking for one to get addicted to!

Summary: even more addictive-but to good to be true!!!!!!
Review: I wrote a review for "The Sims" saying that it is too addictive.....the expansion pack makes it much more addictive-but is that bad? It adds many more iteams, like a potion table, lamp with genie and a robot-servo! A warning, "Livin' Large" uses a lot of memory, i needed to get more memory to use sim and expansion. Besides that one down side I highly reccomend getting "Livin' Large".
