Summary: Blood and Guts
Review: A good free for all of carnage, yet something is missing. I know, a single player mission section. I've been a big fan of the Quake series and of course have enjoyed a little death match on the side as well. Yet what I truly liked the most was the missions you got to play through as the main part of the game.

Quake 2 was one of best for that kind of play. It almost gave you a feel of playing a game similar to Rainbow Six or Rogue Spear. The loss of this from this game sort of saddens me.

With that aside, this game is still very well done. With quite a few odd looking character skins as well as some very fun levels, this should keep you entertained for hours at a time. Though I don't find the controls quite as smooth as they are in Unreal Tournament, I still from time to time enjoy killing a few of my friends. In the game, not literally of course.

Be warned though, the end boss is very difficult when the skill levels increase. He tends to rail you before you've even realized you've respawned.

So beware, but have fun. For there's nothing like joining a game with some friends and blowing their foolish heads off. Kill away, my friends.

Summary: Quake III Arena: AN Extreme Deathmatch
Review: By JLOVE

When true gamers think of first-person shooters, id Software should immediately spring to mind. Who can forget classics like Castle Wolfenstein or Doom? Quake III is mainly a multiplayer deathmatch game like Unreal Tournament, but it still has a single-player mode. The single-player mode is entertaining for a little while, but the multiplayer mode is really what the game is all about. Quake III stands out from other deathmatch games for several reasons. For starters, the bots all have unique AI characteristics that cause the bots (computer players) to all behave differently. For example some bots will have better control over specific weapons or be prone to different defensive moves like ducking a lot. Another cool feature of Quake III Arena is the detailed textures of the level design. Simply put, the textures just look good. Especially outstanding are the animated curved surfaces. But this artwork is just eye candy for the careful planning that went into each level design. You'll probably develop your own favorite level that will eat hours away from your life (Deck 16 from Unreal Tournament is my weakness), but each level is fun to play. If you love deathmatch and have played Unreal Tournament one too many times, Quake III is the game for you...

Summary: Very good, a must have
Review: Everyone should have Quake 3. Everyone.

It's one of the best FPS ever made, and features some of the best mods out there too: Urban Terror, Bid For Power, just to name a few. The engine is world famous, and many great looking games have come from the Q3A engine (Medal of Honor:AA, Jedi Knight II, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, etc...)

Graphics are just great, and this is THE multiplayer/LAN game. If you already own Half-life and Unreal Tournament, get this to round off your collection.

Summary: One of the best games I've ever played
Review: I bought Quake III Gold and I have had so much fun with it. It is a lot better then Half-Life and all of those games. Not only does it come with QIII but it comes with QIII Team Arena. You can even download MORE mods for QuakeIII!! I reccommend this to anyone who wants a good computer game!

Summary: No monsters!
Review: I bought this intending to do two things, not really thinking they might not both be possible. I can't find a way to play against monsters like the original quake. This is only playing against bots and other players. Great game. Lot s of fun on the internet.

Summary: This Visual Artist Loves This Game's Graphics!
Review: I did not think I would like anything as much as Aliens Vs. Predator II until I played Quake 3 after playing the demo to bits and pcs. As a visual artist I am particularly pompously picky about what eye-candy gaming I should want to spend some non-painting time to and this game is it! The Gold Edition Bundle has both Q3 and Team Arena, of which one has the potential of down-loading MANY more maps and scenarios than what seems to initially be on the silicon disc. This is a value and a half and a great game that gets the adrenaline flowing not to mention forgetting to do important things like eat and .....! Great game!

Summary: Q3 Rulez and then they add Team Arena
Review: I finally got around to buying Quake 3 (After playing the demo to death). It's simply amazing. Graphical voilence and eye-candy compete with each other for the crown, but it's the ironclad gameplay that tops it off. Add to that the active MOD-community, rankings, maps, models and bots with killer-AI and you've got yourself THE multiplayer-game of the last century.

And with the Team Arena expansion pack things just got sweeter. More models, more maps, more types of gameplay (focusing on teamplay).

So if Q3 Rulez then Q3 + TA is bliss.
Thank you (...)
Life just got a little bit better.
