Summary: Best Star Wars game ever
Review: I waited almost 5 years from the release of the original Jedi Knight to play this game, and I must say I am quite pleased with LucasArts and Raven Software's new game Jedi Outcast.

Pluses: Great single player storyline, use of lightsaber and Force powers to thwart enemies, replayability is good. Graphical environment is stunning and sound design is awesome. Thriving multiplayer community - you can download maps, skins and other enhancements to the game (for instance, a Darth Vader, Aurra Sing or Darth Maul skin and play online as the character)

Minuses: needs a really high end system to make it run well, some irritating bugs in multiplayer (such as Dark side powers dominating games) and in single player (can't kill enemies when shooting at point blank range), inexplicable lockups especially with Athlon PCs and NVIDIA cards. Also, multiplayer is a little uninspiring, though you can try Force and Saber only matches or one on one duels for variety.

Fortunately at least one patch has been released so far to fix certain issues.

Summary: A super game
Review: This game is one of the greast Star Wars games around. Though the A.I. is not as good as in games like Ghost Recon and Rouge Spear, it is a lot of fun and excitment.

Summary: this game is BAD
Review: This game made me he maddest I have ever been in my entire life! Why? Well, in the first third of the game all you do is walk around shooting people. Plus, you have to figure out insanely difficult puzzles that you would never figure out unless you had a strategy guide. After about 4+ hours of gameplay, you get your lightsaber. And then it's fun for a while.... until you get to the parts where you have to fight 100 guys at a time. THIS GAME IS HARD!!!!!!!!!!!! It took me 6 HOURS to complete 1 lightsaber level! I had to load my saved game at least 200 times. This is no exageration. Every time I moved, I was shot dead.

Summary: Three words...... FUN, EXCITING, and REALISTIC!
Review: This game is by far the funnest game i've ever played. If u want a game that lets u use the force and take on 1 or 2 or even 5 Reborns(evil jedi)then this is the game for u. Or if u want a game that lets u choke your opponents like the dark prince himself(Darth Vader) well, once again this is the game for u.

"Jedi Knight 2" lets u be Kyle Karatan(i think thats how u spell it) a jedi that saved The Valley of the Jedi from an evil reborn master. Long after the masters fall, he realized that there was no need for his force powers or even his light saber. So he gave it to, yep u guessed it, Luke Skywalker(if u dont know who Luke is, u dont get out much!). Anyway thats about all I know about it so far, i mean i only downloaded the demo and it was sooooo kooool! Right after i played the demo i realized that i must have this game and i went on Amazon and bought it, i suggest that u should too!

Summary: Frustrating
Review: Being an avid gamer of First Person Shooter type games I have to say that Jedi Outcast is one of the worst. While visualy stunning the game itself is difficult to play. Even with the difficulty setting at 2 ( out of 4 ) many parts of the game are hard to progress through without having to save every five seconds. Getting killed in the same spot for the 20th time gets outright frustrating and takes away from the cinematic feel of the game.
This game also has a few glaring bugs. At the end of one of the levels, one of the characters gets stuck in place, causing the game to reach a stalemate situation that won't let you finish the level. Given that quite a few people have had this same problem, it makes me wonder if the game testers did their job as thoroughly as they should have. Most games are entertaining enough that I don't use cheat codes until the very end but I found myself playing in "god" mode after the second level. If you really want to enjoy this game and "keep going" through the entire adventure, then use the cheat codes. At least that way it's more like an interactive movie where the hero is bullet proof and never dies.

Summary: Defenitly buy this game
Review: this game is the best thing since Dark Forces. The light saber battles are great. You can do all kinds of things with your light sabers. Some people say that its frustrating. Thats stupid. They put stuff in areas where you wouldn't think of to make it hard. Its a very well writen game with lots of weapons and tools to play with. My favorite is the lightsaber.

This game is the best. And to all my people who have played all the Dark Forces series I think that they will think that this is the best one since. In graphics, guns, force powers, and levels.

Summary: Power Guzzler but an overall great game
Review: I would just like to qualify my statements right off the bat. I've only gotten through the first two levels so I haven't seen everything there is to offer about the game. I'm running it on a Win98 OS with an AMD K7 550 MHz with 192 MB of ram. I also have a GeForce 2 MX with either 32 or 63 meg of ram. So in other words I have a fairly high end system with the exception of the processor. Oh and I also have a Sound Blaster pc512 sound card.
There have been some statements about the game being incredibly slow. The game provides a good amount of adjustibility with the graphics and sound output of the game. I must say that when I cranked the graphics up to full output it ground the game to a halt. (it took me 5 mins to exit from the level so I could readjust the settings) This should be expected though if you have an older processor, which unfortunately applies to anything less than 1GHz. How much processing power the games guzzles however is ofset by how you can tweak the settings. When the game is in the default configuration the game ran perfectly fine on my machine
Graphics-4 stars
The graphics in this game are alright, they haven't been shaded and smoothed out as some other games such as the Mechwarrior series, either that or they aren't as compatibly with my graphics card. However over all, the graphics look good with some neat scenes and special effects. In level two you can fall of a series of pipes to fall to your death a hundred feet below and the game automatically cuts to third person where you can see yourself flailing and dying when you hit. Maybe its morbid but it seemed pretty neat.
Sound-4.5 stars
The sound is very clear and understandable. Just about every human you come across talks in the game and their speech becomes louder as you get closer, warning you of that stormtrooper around the corner. The enemies in the game also casually chat and make some funny comments. Overall a great sound setup. The only thing that knocks it down is that i did start hearing some repetitive phrases which sorta bugs me.
Gameplay-4.5 stars
The gameplay is challenging but not overly slow. I'm probably the average in skill but it took me 4 hours or so to get through the first level. However since they're 20 levels that is a fair amount of game playing time ahead of me. I liked the interface and how they handle the probles of being a first person shooting game. The character is easy to handle and does exactly what you want him to do. There is enough complexity in the game so that you aren't just shooting bad guys and you must use some strategy. I haven't yet gotten my lightsaber or force powers, but they are also rumored to be impressive. Overall I liked the feel of the game.

So there y ou have it. If you have a slow machine be prepared to only use the defaults (supposed to be common sense), however, if you have a faster machine this game will probably be much more impressive, i can't wait to get my hands on a new 1.4-2 ghz processor. There is really nothing to bad to say about the game, just a few minor things that i think but it from being the best it could be and that's why i gave it a 4.5

Summary: ANOTHER SATISFIED CUSTOMER...
Review: I am not being biased when I say this game rocks although I have been a first-person shooter fan since Wolfenstein 3D first came out. This game is awesome. The feeling I got when I first played it was the same feel back in 1995 when I first played Dark Forces on my 486dx2 66mhz machine. I especially like how you build up your Force powers as the game progresses. It's a rewarding experience when you get through the Jedi training and obtain your lightsaber. By default though, the game is not set to chop off arms, legs, heads, thighs, and torsos, which was a dissappointment. But, after turning on cheats (i only set it on for this purpose) and setting the g_SaberRealisticCombat to 50 (setting is from 0-99, by default it's 0), I was laughing out loud when seeing the storm trooper get his head and hand chopped off for the first time. The only con I experienced with this game is that I experienced a bit of choppiness at first. I'm running a 1.5ghz, 512mb PC800, with a Geforce 4 ti 4400 and I was still seeing some choppy lines on my monitor with the refresh rate set to 120hz. The problem was due to something called "vsync". This was changed by entering r_swapinterval 1 into the console and running the vid_restart command. After that, the choppiness went away. This game is sweeet! If you're a fan of Star Wars games then this game is one you should definitely own. Lucas Arts has came through with a very fine production for it's gamer fans finally. ... Peace.
