Summary: Fabulous if you Cheat
Review: The puzzles are annoying (find an online walk through) and the early pre-light saber levels are frustrating.

But by giving youself the light saber and force powers right from the start that are consistant with the movies, this game is unbelievably fun.

To go into cheat mode, do the following:
In the game, press [Shift] + ~
Type: devmapall

Then type:
give weapons
g_spskill 2
setsaberall 3
setforceall 1
setforcepush 2
setforcejump 3
setforcepull 3

You have to retype these every new level. I also remapped my keys so as to never use light saber throw, (that also ruins the mood), put force pull and push on my mouse wheel, and use the action key for confusing enemies.

While this seems like a lot of work, the resulting experience is better than the movies for fast paced, heart pounding fabulous fun.

Summary: Still a great game, despite its age
Review: I waited almost five years to play this one. I got interested in it after playing Jedi Knight 2. I kind of wish that I had played it a few years ago, so that I could have appreciated how good it was when it was younger.

"Dark Forces 2" starts off like an ordinary shooter, but with Star Wars weapons. The game is true to the movies in just about every way. The sounds, music, and villains all could come straight out of a Star Wars film. The game is filled with puzzles and secret areas. It's a great game for those who like huge levels with lots of button pushing and exploration. The cinematic cut scenes are sort of cheesy, since they were done with live actors instead of animation. The story line is great, and it has multiple paths towards the end.

What separates this game from many others is that you can assign force powers as you see fit, which adds a role-playing aspect to the game. You can assign "good" powers, like healing, or "evil" powers, like the choke hold grip. Near the end, you choose an ultimate dark side or good side path. Each path has a different ending, which means that you can get at least one replay out of the game.

The lightsaber is not a very powerful weapon in this game, but it is much easier to control. It is a lot simpler than in "Jedi Knight 2", which has all sorts of special moves and crazy animations.

The only reason that I don't give this game 5 stars is that it is so old, and it's age does show in a lot of ways, especially the very drab graphics. It's still worth picking up, if you like any of the Star Wars games (especially "Jedi Knight 2").

Summary: JEDI OUTCAST RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: When I went to my friends house he told me how much he liked and I can say the same. You have force powers such as push, pull, choke, mindtrick, and a whole lot more. Some of your weapons are lightsabers, bowcasters, disinigrater rifles and more it doesn't hurt to use codes which you can find online

Summary: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Review: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is a first person shooter. It is one of the best star wars game i have ever played with an excellent single player and multiplayer gameplay. The story you play kyle katran who has to save the valley of the jedi. The single player gameplay is excellent with superlative level design, The levels are very long, very hard and very fun to get through. The first few levels are not that great but once you have the force powers and the lightsaber the game becomes very intresting. The force powers are very fun and great. The puzzles are great and very hard solve. This is one of the best single player games i have played in recent times. Jk2 is built on the quake3 engine and the graphics and sound are excellent. I played the game on the OpenGL video mode and the game runs great. But unlike other quake3 games like Rtcw and Mohaa the quick loading is not instant. Jedi Knight II is the best star wars game ever, It is not to be missed action game.

Summary: Great game, except for the jumping puzzle.
Review: This game is really good except for a jumping puzzle that made me want to through my computer out the window. The force powers are unique and add a new dimension to the first person shooter.

Summary: Incredible Game!
Review: This is an absolutely wonderful game. I've played it over and over again, and never got bored.

You get to use the powers of the force to defeat many villains and increase your abilities. Eventually if you get good enough, you can take on large numbers of storm troopers with ease.

The lightsaber battles are incredible. You feel like a real Jedi Knight. You get the chance to fire the guns of a starship, and to go into battle in an AT-ST, which is a lot of fun. There's also a time to act with stealth.

This is one of those games that really strikes the right balance of combat, puzzles, graphics, and story.

I recommend it highly!

Summary: The Best of Times, the Worst of Times
Review: Jedi Knight II underscores just how rich the technological and graphical capabilities of top-of-the-line PC games are while also calling attention to how unimaginative many game designers have become.

The game is a major success, but I think some designers will continue to learn the wrong lessons from that success. It's a success because the game's graphical engine creates a remarkably engaging sense of being a part of the Star Wars universe--something that many of us crave. It uses music and visuals perfectly to this end. The core storyline is engaging enough: Kyle Katarn is a likeable, believable protagonist, and the game makes use of other Star Wars story elements very well. So on one hand, the game works very hard to achieve immersion.

On the other hand, the game's level design makes it almost impossible to achieve immersion. When travelling through a level, you are not Kyle Katarn: you're just a guy sitting in front of your terminal trying to figure out what the game designer wants you to do next. Puzzles are not intuitive, and the solution is usually a rigid, artificial and sometimes nonsensical sequence of actions. You have to run a gauntlet of enemies who have somehow positioned themselves in places that your own character could not get to--in many cases, places which are actively impossible for any living creature to have travelled to given the design of the level. At one point, you have to protect a droid from a host of enemies while also disarming trip mines. You can push the droid back using your Force powers, but only so far: push him back far enough and he spontaneously explodes. Why? Because the designer wants you to beat the level the way he wants you to beat it.

It doesn't have to be this way. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault has demonstrated that an FPS can have good, immersive level design without having to resort to this kind of straightjacket.

JK2's multiplayer is decent enough, but it becomes boring fairly quickly. When force powers are enabled, the game is dominated by the boring over-use of force push and force choke. When weapons other than lightsabers are enabled, snipers and explosive weapons rule the day, but in no more interesting a fashion than any other multiplayer FPS on the market.

Summary: Buy it, period.
Review: This is one of the best games ever! I bought it a year ago and I ma still playing it, frequently. Single player action is great , with lots of movie like scenarios, storm troopers and the music score (awesome). Multiplayer action is just what I have always wanted dto do, show off jedi powers, force push enemies, throw lightsabers, etc etc. with max payne and ghost recon this game is still at the very top.

Summary: Falls short
Review: I was expecting a lot more of Jedi Outcast before I played it. The single player is decent and challenging. However, the multiplayer was very disappointing. Graphics wise it does not disappoint. The sound is also excellent.

The problem for me? The multiplayer is not very impressive. It basically comes down to a bunch of players running around either wildly waving their lightsabors jumping through the air or there's the players who sit around and as snipers and take you out while your fighting with another player. It just gets old after awhile. The reason this was a disappointment was the game was built on the same engine as Return to castle wolfenstein, and the multiplayer in that game is astounding. I truly was expecting more of the same in this title but I was very disappointed.

Summary: True to the power of the FORCE
Review: Great game, good use of varying Force powers. Multi-player DEMANDS cablemodem-only to avoid lag. Even ISDN can't keep up, so beware. Only complaint: the bots are worthless & mindless.
Spend the money - get the game. Spend the time, the difficulty of conquering is rewarding.
