Summary: I'm not so sure...
Review: I'll start by saying this: yes, "Diablo II" is a good game, but no, it simply isn't where it should be: considering the huge hype and all that.

The gameplay is still the same. You choose your character from five different classes, and than wear out two or three mouses as you battle your way to the Lord of Terror himself, Diablo. The most significant difference is the new character skills. You now how the ability to choose from a set of skills as you gain in level, and thus customizing your character to fit your style of play. The game levels have moved above ground, so that you can explore wilderness areas (but also dungeons). There's a weather effect which allows for rain and lightening. And there's different NPCs you can interact with and even hire to aid you. But other than this, the game is exactly the same.

The graphics is the biggest let-down of the game. They're horribly outdated. The cinematic sequences, however, are the best I've seen. So if you don't mind going over the first game in a bigger scale, you'll probably be able to extract some excitement from the game.

Summary: Good for a while
Review: I bought this game thinking it would be outstanding. Boy was I sorry. Dioblo 2 is way to much like the first one. And the most bothersome problem for me is that it got boring really quick and there are virtually no replay values. Actally no replay values, I conquered the game and now it is sitting on the shelf collecting dust. If you want to spend money go somewere else.

Summary: Great game- Even the fifth time through
Review: Diablo 2, is a game like few others. All though it is not a 3d game in a world of 3d, it is a game that ranks along with the greats of gaming: Doom, Half-Life, and Starcraft to name a few. Diablo 2 is essentially a click-attack game, but as you progress you realize their is strategy to the click-attack, and you gain amazing attacks as you progress in level. The game features five distinct classes, with their own style of play and three difficulty levels. The difficulty levels surpass most games, in that instead of just making more or tougher enemies, you also gain access to a new arsenal of amazing items. The story is engaging, and the quests are fun. There were not too many times where I was hoping to finish a quest from boredom. I have now beaten the game 5 times on three different characters, and still work at improving my current one. It is a great game overall, with the biggest cons being that the NPC mercenaries becoming useless in later difficulty levels, the hassels of picking up your corpse after you die, and of course the many hours of your life this game will absorb.

Summary: Good game marred by awful save feature
Review: Do you really need a review? If you loved Diablo, you'll probably love Diablo 2. It's the same hack-things-up-and-revel-in-the-bloodshed good clean fun of the original, but a whole lot bigger. Everything about it is wonderful... except the save game "feature." And that's bad enough to knock my rating down two stars. Now, when you save, you're forced to exit the game, and you start back in the main city where you begin whichever act you happen to be in. If you're between "waypoints" (and there are sometimes rather large expanses between waypoints, especially in Act III), there's no easy method for saving. It seems Blizzard forgot computers are used for playing anything but Diablo, and thus didn't feel the need to create a game that can be saved when necessary. If you can get past that, though, it's just as much fun whacking monsters as it always was. (The nod to Trilogy of Terror is also wonderful. Take a real close look at the Rat Men/Soul Killers, then go watch Trilogy of Terror...)

Summary: CAUTION: EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE!! MOST FUN YOU'LL EVER HAVE.
Review: This game is incredible. You will become very addicted to this game once you play it and get the hang of it. It's extremely competitive on Battle.net. Battle.net, of course to me, is the whole main thing about this game. You will get extremely BORED to death if you play Single PLayer. If you play on Battle.net, you can build up your character and compete with other people around. The items are very fun to find because you always want to show off what you have to people and your friends. All in all, get this game if you like RPG style. Even if you don't like RPG, just give it a try and it'll pull you in immediately!!

Summary: Good Mulitplayer but Little Replay Value
Review: Diablo 2 is an extremely large version of it predecessor Diablo. Technologically, there are virtually no graphical or artificial intelligence improvements.

Of course, Diablo was a wild success, and teaming up with friends makes the multiplayer aspect of the game remain the funnest portion. The voice acting is also quite good.

However, be advised that you are very likely to spend 30 hours straight on this game and then never touch it again. The game design is ultimately repetitive. Take away the spooky-medieval mystique and they could retitle the game "Errand Boy". What's more, take away the spooky-medival graphics, and you're left with what I call "The Mouse Game":

Imagine a game in which you are a red dot, being attacked by multiple blue dots. For variety's sake, you can either right-click or left-click on the blue dots to attack them. As the game progresses, your clicks become more devastating, but the blue dots become increasingly resilient to clicks. Make the dots look like monsters and add fog, voila Diablo 2!

Summary: Awesome Game
Review: This has to be the best game I have played in...forever. When you first start the game, you will be excited with all that you can explore. A lot of items to choose from. 5 character classes you can use. I have been playing this since it first came out; June. There are several pros and cons of the game. Mainly of the online service; Battle.net. The internet play makes it soo much more interesting, since you get to play with or against others. You meet several friendly people, but mixed in with those are the ones you want to kill with your character using the hostility option. :) Battle.net also has a ladder, where the higher level your character is, the higher you are on the ladder. It is great competition, but sort of nerve-wrecking. I highly recommend this game. But caution: you may waste several hours of your day just playing this game. Must be the best rpg of the year. :) Enjoy.

Summary: I would rate it a 5, but....
Review: I had sooo much fun playing this game. I am a 22 year old female college student and my boyfriend gave me this game for my birthday (upon my request and to his great surprise--girls don't play video games, do they?). I chose to become the barbarian and I worked my way through the game and had a total blast choosing new weapons, adding skills to my arsenal of damaging hits and screams, and killing, killing, killing monsters! I even had the chance to play online a little bit before...

Before I beat Diablo.

After I beat Diablo (which was a happy day...how weird it is that a video game can take over your life for a month or two!) I couldn't play the game anymore. I went to the Diablo II website for information about how I could get my CD to work again. I downloaded the latest patch and reinstalled the game (and lost my awesome barbarian character and my boyfriend's well-advanced paladin even though the patch said that I wouldn't lose characters when I reinstalled the game). I never made the game work again. I want to play again, but I simply can't.

I have been in email contact with Blizzard, the manufacturers of the game, and they said that many computers have a glitch in their CD-ROM drives that won't allow certain game CDs to be read. They gave me long instructions about how to help them troubleshoot my problems, but I'm not sure it's worth it. I might do it because I love the game, but if you have a computer that's more than a few months old, be aware that this game may not work for you at all or after a while. It's really upsetting, too.

So, I would love to rate this game a 5 because I love playing it so much, but I can't because I can't play it anymore.

Buyer beware.

Summary: 1000000000000 star game!
Review: BEST GAME EVER! Great characters and weapons. VERY nice but maybe not so real graphics. This may make it seem bad but basicly you walk around killing monsters and horrors with different weapons, armor, and magic. Maybe it is alittle complicated for all the hot keys but once you get the hang of it, it will be easy. There are sooooooo many types of armor weapons gloves boots rings amulets etc. So like i said this is the BESTTTTTT game! and if u like magic, fighting, weapons, armor and quests. If i were u there is no thinking about buying this game just go and get it!
