Summary: Look No Further!
Review: I'm an avid game player and this game has cornered all my video game time. The gameplay is 10 times better than the original Diablo. The only downside to this game is that you can get caught up in it and lose track of days!

Summary: The Name of the Game is: Addiction
Review: An excellent game, and for me extraordinary due to the intelligence of its design. Blizzard has foreseen almost everything that players want, and want more of, and made the game incredibly addictive. Neither true RPG nor true adventure, Diablo 2 is a unique genre in itself by mixing the needs of modern-day short attention spans with the appeal of visceral action, plus the addictiveness of exploration and treasure finding. Add to this a highly flexible system for individualizing every character's skills, stats and strategies (something very few RPGs provide) - plus again, the intelligence that has gone into making it multiplayer viable - this is a mind-boggling game.

Even on a 17" monitor, the 640x480 graphics still look very good. With the release of the Expansion Set, you can go up to 800x600 - and probably never look back. Customisability (with equipment) has been greatly improved from Diablo 1, and the magic effects are utterly fascinating and innovative. The environmental sound effects are superb - the game even managed to fool my wife into thinking it was really raining outside! The music by Matt Uelmen provides excellent atmosphere.

Will you like this game? It depends - I think you will most likely enjoy it if: (1) You enjoy quick-paced action (but not too unstoppably fast), (2) You enjoy the concept of developing a character through collecting equipment, and (3) You are willing to think about strategy in a game that rewards both the "undiscerning" player and the meticulous strategist. Don't be fooled - the game looks simple, but its ingenuity is that it allows you to play it as simply as you want, or as complex as you desire.

Summary: I take it back.
Review: It IS point and click! Yeah, the greatest RPG of all time! It certainly makes you gain weight faster than any other RPG. All my friends have been fattened and dumbed by this marvel in brainwashing. They are all now one with the chair that they sit in. Greatest RPG? Not even close. Those who say it is are probably physically dependant upon it by now. I observe people play with their eyes two inches from the monitor and their mouths slack with saliva dripping from the corners of their mouths. The only thing that moves is the hand, making quick, convulsive movements. I say that even if it does expand your brain (Ha, ha), the other negative effects far outweigh the good.

Summary: Sleepless in Chicago
Review: I heard about his game from my friend. He raved aobut it. I finally went over to his place to play it, and I was hooked. I had never played D1 before and did not even know it existed. I asked him to burn it for me, but the money was burning a hole in my pocket and I bought it myself last Saturday, and have almost had it for a week now.

First of all, let me start with the cons of this game so that I may cheer you up later with the pros. The first thing that is wrong with the game is that it was an exhorbitant price. The next thing is that the graphics are not all that great, even with a 3D accelerator. The last thing that I think is not too good is the lag. Even when not playing on battle.net. I don't know what to attribute this to.

Now the pros. The cutscenes are exceptional (even though I am only in Act I). The gameplay itself is great. I like how the character classes are all very distinct from one another and have (I think) no skills in common. Some people say that respawning monsters is bad. I love it because I get to attain more experience points (even though I have only died twice, once with the Necromancer, and once with the Barbarian). I like the way the character changes when you put on different types of armor or when you put a gem into something and it changes to reflect the characteristics of that gem. I have spent the last week up until at least 1:00 am playing. The game also gives me a reason to procrastinate and shirk my work.

This slice 'em, dice 'em, kill 'em 'til their dead game will keep you engrossed for hours on end. Two hours will seem like twenty minutes. I would definitely recommend this game.

Summary: Blizzard gives birth to another bad egg
Review: The only diabolical thing about this game is how bad it is. Blizzard's strategy is this: make the game so much fun in the beginning that you sell lots o copies and than later it is no more fun. They make more money faster that way. But wasting money for this game which you will shelf after realizing there's nothing more to do is a bad idea. Hack, slash, pick up, hack slash, level up, pick up, hack, slash, player killer, hack, slash, kill, level up. That's how i can describe the game. Do yourself a favor, if you're a hack and slasher buy a hack and slasher that is actual FUN and doesn't try to be something it's not. RPG fans should really turn away from this.

Summary: Curiously addictive
Review: This is the essence of the dungeon hack and slash. Your character kills the hordes of walking undead, they drop random loot for you. After enough hacking your character becomes more powerful by leveling up. The lure of the always possible rare or unique drop off of a monster is an extremely potent carrot. As is the rewards garnered at the completion of each quest which although aren't exactly rocket science, do progress the story arc and provide a sense of accomplishment. The stick in the equation is the setup that everytime you reload the game the monsters in an area are regenerated, making it imperative that your character find the waypoints which allow one to skip previously played areas. This combination of carrot and stick creates uncommonly addictive gameplay, and makes for great stress relief.

Summary: Great for the whole, gore-obsessed family!
Review: I blieve this game is really underrated by a lot of people; those who haven't taken the time to fully understand it. I was once one of those people who, after playing it for a short period of time, thought: "This is just mindless point-and-click action... boring!" Oh, how I was wrong.

After giving it a bit more time I discovered the strategy involved wit the game. At early levels you can get by with just pointing, clicking, and slaughtering. However, once you progress further into the game -- especially when you reach Nightmare mode or play a Hardcore character -- strategy becomes much more important. I found that skills and combinations that worked well to begin with just didn't cut it later on, and I discovered just how bad my choices really were with skills. Finding that my characters began to suck, I did some research, put a lot of thought into them, and eventually learned how to make a character that would last through the whole game. It takes a lot of time -- and a big attention span -- to get the full enjoyment out of this game, but if you're going to pay for it, you might as well suck up every minute you can, right?

Multi-play mode is especially addictive. You can pair up with friends and try different combinations of characters and skills to see how each class best compliments the others. Paladins are natural party leaders whose Auras work for the good of the teem, while Barbarians can both take and deal large amounts of damage, allowing other party members such as the Amazon to sit in the back row and pick off enemies with arrows or javalins. The possibilites are literally endless.

If I were to rate the game on a scale of 1 to 10, here's how I'd do it:

Graphics: 8. The cinematic cutscenes are brilliant, but you only get to see them between Acts and at the intro and ending of the game. The graphics in-game itself are great, ranging anywhere from awesome spell animations to outfit changes dependant upon what you have equipped. The one problem I had was that it only supported up to 640x480 resolution (though the Expansion Pack will fix taht to 800x600) and the intense graphics can cause a lot of system lag at times.

Sound: 7. The music is very ambient and well produced, though it can get quite repetetive at times. Sound affects are good, but after a while they become very monotonous (that can be said for any and every game, however).

Story: 8. The story is fairly original and well thought-out, and is aided wonderfully by the Quests you must undertake to achieve further parts of the plot. My one problem with it is the lack of ability to impact it in any way.

NPCs: 8. All of the townspeople are wonderful, with great voice acting. Their animations are thoughtful and detailed -- for instance, Charsi the blacksmith may walk back and forth between her anvil, sometimes stopping to pound a weapon with her hammer -- and they look superb. The only problem here is that the "hirelings" (mercenaries) are rather stupid, and there is almost no interaction with them (until the expansion pack).

Overall: 8.5. It's not the greatest game on the face of the earth, but the awesome skill system, story, characters, classes, and everything else that matters in a game are simply fabulous. I'd definitely recommend playing this game... IF you have an attention span that will hold out long enough to realize its full potential.

Summary: An incredibly addictive game! Awesome!
Review: Probably the best part of this game is the item system. Throughout the game you are constantly upgrading your equipment, and there is a near-infinite variety of items you can get. The gameplay is great - lots of awesome spells, five different classes. The online play is awesome, and freeee! Too bad Battle.net is chock-full of lag, the bane of D2 players everywhere. Still this is the best action/adventure game I have ever played.

Summary: Here's a game that'll make you lose days of sleep!!!!!!!!
Review: This game is like an RPG. You level up, learn new skills, and get more experience. There are 5 fighting classes: Sorceress, Palidan, Necromancer, Barbarian, and Amazon. There are also 3 difficulty levels; normal, nightmare, and hell. I thought it was all over when i killed diablo, but then I heard about the secret cow level that has man's worst enimies, the evil cows and and the cow king. You get a lot of special items there. I'm not going to tell you how to get there but if you really want to know, email me Well, thenhere's Battle.net. On Battle net you can get on the enternet and play against other players.once you kill another person, you can steal all their awesome items!! It's really fun! The only bad thing is about sleep. This game will keep you up for days and days. So go out and buy this game, it it a must have!!!
