Rating: Summary: Just love it! Review: My little brother, who is 10 years old, insisted that I should let him ask for this game in Christmas and play it in my computer. At first I was reluctant but finally I accepted. Now it's me who has become zoo-addict with this great game.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely wonderful! Review: The appeal of this game is so broad that anyone from 5 years to 90 years can enjoy it. It crosses gender and generation! Whether you want to make a beautiful garden park with gentle gazzelles in it or create a fiery volcanic island where dinosaurs run free, this game has it all! A great bonus is that the game creators, Blue Fang, have regularly released free downloads to increase the appeal of the game such as new theme items, restaurants, and animals! The bonus items are easy to obtain and install and they add a lot to the game. But in my opinion the single greatest free download they offer for Zoo Tycoon is a program called APE, or Animal Project Editor, which allows you, the user, to create your own content for the game! If you want something that isn't included, you can make it yourself- or, if you haven't the ambition or skills, you can ask someone else to do it at one of the many thriving fan sites such as Zoo-Tek.com and chances are you'll get it before long, if it isn't already available somewhere. This game's popularity just keeps growing because it has such unlimited potential. Well done, Blue Fang, this has definitely become my favorite game.
Rating: Summary: Cannot recommend enough! Review: This game is awesome! My son, who started playing this game at 6, has been in love with this game for over a year. Every child, ages 6 - 11, who comes over to our home ends up addicted to this game. I think we are personally responsible for a spike in sales of this product in our area! The game teaches children so much on so many levels without boring them with the presentation. They learn about the animals themselves by setting up their environments. If they don't do it right the animals will complain, get sick or die. They learn to manage employees. Every once in a while you'll get an employee who doesn't do his work and you have to fire him! They learn about management of a park. For example, if you forget to add enough trash cans, the guest will throw trash on the ground. And they learn about budgets because if they don't manage their cash flow they will run out of money. Totally a thumbs up!
Rating: Summary: the coolest game.ever. Review: i love this game!!! it is so much fun!info for people who wanna buy it: objective: build a fun, thriving zoo, and make guests & animals happy! age: any age, really, but kids under 6 will need a little help, but older then that they should be able to do it on their own. pros: fun, exiting, cute graphics.........ect.ect.ect! cons: i cant think of any but that if you have the new version of xp it wont work unless you download a patch from zootycoon.com perks: i like cheats, because it makes the game easier. if you want more money(make sur you do this BEFORE building exibits, because fences break) hold down shift+4 as long as you want, no limits, i think that 11,000,000 is about right for my zoo. bye!
Rating: Summary: A Must Buy Review: I bugged my dad into getting this after I got all the trial versions, and it was AMAZING! Not only can you adopt animals, but you can also adopt dionsaurs and other prehistoric andimals and marine animals. There are a lot of fansites with downloads for this game (example: http://www.zklounge.com) that users created! People obviously put a lot of time to create these animals and they also create hacks (things that make the game just a LITTLE easier; ex. unlocking things at the very begining at the game) and objects. The only reason I rated this 4 stars is for some unknown reason, the game crashed and now I can only use disc 1 :-(. (But it's STILL fun!)
Rating: Summary: THIS IS GREAT!!! Review: I purchased this PC game for my 14 year old daughter for Christmas, but my 9 year old daughter also plays this game alot. In fact, I can't get them off of the computer!! They play this game continuously!! Zoo Tycoon features all the great zoo animals and my daughter loves it when the elephants get out of their pen!!! Would recommend this PC game for anyone--young or old!!
Rating: Summary: THE BEST COMPUTER GAME FOR ALL AGES Review: In this game you can actually build and create your own zoo with a certain amount of money! The more you build the more objects become available. You have to provide the proper habitats for each animal and the right fencing. Hire zoo keepers, tour guides and maintenance workers, buy hamburger and drink stands for the guests and you'll have a zoo tycoon!!!!
Rating: Summary: Must Buy Review: My opinion is since I have this game is to buy it. Also this game is not the best if you think it is. After awhile, it gets boring and the scenarios are pretty good but the game itself is excellent over all. I woule reccomend this game to anyone who is interested in this type of games. If you are not you are looking at the wrong game.
Rating: Summary: SO FUN! Review: My daughter, age 8, and I just love to play this game together. She thinks its great to buy animals and create cage environments where her animals are so happy they even have babies. She laughs when all of mom's animals are getting sick or even escaping a poorly designed cage. This game is clever, easy to work without endless hours pouring over the manual, and just plain fun. And now my 8 year old knows you can't put a lion in a deciduous forest!!
Rating: Summary: Really fun and addicting game Review: This game is about designing a zoo. It's a lot like Roller Coaster Tycoon or Mall Tycoon, only the graphics are better. This is reccomended to people who've played the other games just mentioned and enjoyed them--! Like Roller Coaster Tycoon, you need to beat scenarios. You have to complete a zoo, with all the goals completed (it will list the goals before you start your game). Usually, you have to achieve an average animal happiness of whatever, an average park rating of whatever, and sometimes you have to have a certain number of exhibits, if you complete all that, you will get a new scenario. You have to achieve all this with 75,000 or less dollars (it goes down the more scenarios you complete and the harder they get). In this game you're really trying to make both the animals and the guests content. To do this, design animals' exhibit well and make sure that their cage is well suited and that they are fed. Guests need places to sit and food to eat. The good thing about this game also, is you can play a "Freeform Game", which is a scene, but you do not have to complete any goals or anything, and start and the amount of money you want is optional. (Up to $500,000 is most to start--but here's a cheat-- hold down the Shift button and the $ button BEFORE you make any exhibits and watch your money go SOARING up!!) It's really fun to play this way, but after awhile, it does get boring to not have a challenge. This game crashes easily, almost always when you're playing a freeform game. About between 30-60 mins. is when mine usually crashes. Another reason why it crashes is if you're using a cheat on the game like trying to get a Yeti or Unicorn (I listed some cheats for you to try below, so get out your pen and pencil!). I suggest if you want to use a cheat for getting a nonexistent animal, make sure that the exhibit is NOT brand new. If you're bored with the game and need something fun to do, or you're going to recieve this game real soon, I suggest trying/writing down one of these fun cheats: *Unusual Cheats* ¤ Start freeform game, and hold down the Shift and $ button and watch your money go way up. The amount of money is unlimited, but eventually you'll get bored of holding down the two buttons. =P Don't do this with existing exhibits, otherwise the exhibit walls will crumble and break! ¤ Name a guest Steve Serafino and recieve all the endangered animals on your animals list ¤Place a lion, tiger and bear all in the same exhibit and recieve the Yellow Brick Road path *Rare and Unusual Animals* ¤ To adopt a Unicorn, name an Exhibit "Xanadu" and check your animals list. You'll have a Unicorn! ¤ To adopt a Yeti, start out with an exhibit named "Exhibit 1" then rename it "Kathmandu" to adopt a Yeti. Make sure it isn't a new exhibit! ¤ To adopt a Triceratops, name an exhibit "Cretaceous Corral." Check your animals list and you'll be able to adopt this dinosoar ¤ Rename a Panda "Blackly" and it will turn into a red panda ¤Name a kangaroo Sheila and it will turn into Spyro's friend Sheila ¤Name a Yeti Bigfoot and you'll be able to adopt a Bigfoot ¤ Name a reindeer Rulpoln and it's nose will glow red. Name another reindeer Dancer and it will dance with a female reindeer I suggest going to a cheat site for more cheats. =)
