Summary: Makes Zoo Tycoon worth having!
Review: Again, this was purchased for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. It was to go along with the original Zoo Tycoon that she received for Christmas. She wanted Dinosaur Digs as well but I wasn't about to buy all 3 at one time and since she is so into dolphins I figured this expansion pack would be worth it. And boy was it! I was pleasantly surprised when I received my shipment and it said it was a "double" expansion kit and included Dinosaur Digs as well! That alone was worth the price! When you put this double expansion kit together with the original Zoo Tycoon you can't go wrong! It made the whole "building your own zoo" come alive! The sounds, the people, the animals, everything is just thrilling about these games! And it is very educational for children as they have to keep the animals and zoo visitors happy at all times, whether it's with feeding the animals, feeding the visitors, lowering the price on the food and gift stands, putting up more restrooms, adding more foliage or animals to an animal cage, sending maintence workers to clean up an area, etc. Children will learn about money, responsibility, and so much more with this game without even realizing it!This is a wonderful expansion pack to add to your original Zoo Tycoon!

Summary: Hours of fun!
Review: I got this for my daughter ...and she has thoroughly enjoyed it more than the roller coast game! It's fun and exciting to build your own zoo and with expansion games it's evn more fun! The game is great as you have to keep all the animals and guests happy. And if they are not happy you lose your previlages to purchase new animals, you don't get funding, people stop coming to the zoo and you slowly but surely (and in some cases very rapidly) lose money. It's a great game to teach children about responibility as far as caring for animals, managing money, etc. It's not as if they can just build a cage, stick an animal in it and that's it. You have to provide shelter, foliage, rocks, grass, water, snow, toys, food, animal trainers, etc. And you need maintenance workers to repair fences, clean the grounds, etc. It's a lot of fun and you can spend hours on this game. I can honestly say that I've enjoyed it just as much as my daughter. I started playing it about 10 at night and it only seem like 30 minutes went by but it was already 1:30 in the morning! So time really does fly when you are playing this very enjoyable and what I believe to be a good educational tool for both children and adults!...

Review: I haven't spent much time with this program yet but it has excellent potential for kids and adults who need to see the value of planning ahead.
The graphics are nice and some of the instructions are funny, tongue in cheek stuff. All in all a good PC game if you have time to fiddle with it.

Review: I got zoo tycoon for christmas. It is an awesome game!!!!As a tip for the game you need to put lots of restraunts and restrooms
to keep the people happy. The lions get cranky a lot but I like the rest of the animals. This game is based on a real zoo like if the animals are happy and there are at least 2 of a different gender they will have babies. Sometimes they die of old age. My favorite animal the monkey. In the begining there are about 25-50
different zoos to chose from.

Summary: Zoo Tycoon Impresses This Gamer
Review: I bought Zoo Tycoon and the Expansion Pak for my sister this Christmas and she loves it ... but not more than I do. I consider myself an action and sports gamer yet, when I tried Zoo Tycoon, I couldn't stop playing. For anyone that loves SimCity, this is just as good if not better. The only problem I have with this game is that I have too much fun playing it which makes time fly for me.

Summary: Not as great as I thought
Review: Maybe that is my problem, I purchased this game with high expectations. I am a very big fan of Roller Coaster Tycoon, both RCT 1, 2 and both expansions, but Zoo Tycoon is not a fun. First of all the staff members have less control. Your maintenance people (they are the ones in charge of making your park look nice), tend to have a mind of their own. Some of the animals are impossible to please. I will add that the game is more challenging. Roller Coaster Tycoon is all about the guests. You're job is to make you park work nice, and if you do things correctly the roller coasters don't complain about not having enough to eat or that they need more work done on them, or they are feeling crowded by too many guests. The animals however are easily upset, difficult to take care of and it's very easy to forget about your guests and worry only about your animals. That makes the game a little more interactive, you have to work extremely hard to make sure you're zoo is productive, the staff and zookeepers are also more expensive. You have to worry about the animals reproducing, (don't worry mom and dad there are no graphics for that the babies just appear), lest the animals grow to large for their enclosure. In my opinion that is what makes the game more fun than it's sister, Roller Coaster Tycoon. One of the big downsides (at least in my opinion) is that their is no winning. In Roller Coaster Tycoon you have objectives and each scenario is different or more difficult. In Zoo you pick your own level of difficulty, but there is no way to really win. I am very competitive and for me there has to be closure. I currently have a zoo that has been open for ten years, it's completely developed and I have over a million dollars, I started with only 10k, what else do I need to do to win? Needless to say I have lost intrest in that park and only bring it up and use it when I am bored. There is a fairly good sized variety of animals and you never run out, it's fun to make your guests happy and make money, you also get to see the private donations that your exhibit attracts and that is quite fun as well. Overall I am glad that I own it, but I most definatley will not be buying the expansion packs. It's a fun family game that really can capture you for 2-3 hours and it's seems like you just started to play. Overall fun game 3 Stars

Summary: THE BEST GAME EVER!
Review: I first played this game at my friend's house and loved it. Then I played it again at my other friend's house, who got it for Christmas. I have to admit, this is addicting, and I wasn't even the one playing--just watching!
I am so hooked that I am buying a version for myself. I think that older kids as well and adults will like this game, and although it may be a bit complicated for children, it is still great. I love the animals, especially the babies--so cute!
In conclusion, you should DEFINITELY buy this game. It is so worth every penny.

Summary: Wasn't too impressed with original...this is great!
Review: Like i said in my title, the original Zoo Tycoon did not thrill me. Just when I thought I had wasted ...Marine Mania came to the rescue. It took me a while to finally decide: what the heck, I'll get it. I was not dissapointed. I mean, great whites and T. Rex's, who could possibly pass it up? With almost 80 new animals, this game is vastly expanded. You can build tanks that actually have depth (unlike the previous water terrain tool), and house animals such as orca whales, giant squids, and many different kinds of sharks. Plus, certain animals can put on shows! You can impress your guests by having your orcas of dolphins do amazing jumps and breaches, play with balls, and many more amazing tricks! THe great white shark can even perform in shows; you can have your sharks do breaches and feeding frenzies! You can hire marine specialists to train, feed, and doctor your marine animals. You can even put marie plantlife and sunked ships into your tanks to make your animals feel right at home. Many new scenarios and freeform zoos are also available, includinga Kids Zoo, in which everything is unlocked! Plus, this expansion includes the Dinosaur digs expansion as well! Finally, we can turn our zoos into Jurrasic park! You can house dinosaurs such as fast and lethal velociraptors, the huge Apatosaurus, and of course, a T. Rex! This is definitely everything I hoped for in an expansion, even though the original was pretty unsatisfactory. Also, here is a little cheat: Hold down Shift, then 4 too get lots of money, but be careful, it could delete some or your fences, so do it early in the game!

Review: I got zoo tycoon and the expansion packs for it and I am on it everyday for about 2-3 hours. The people on here are so much better than Roller Coaster Tycoon. They look 2 times more real than Roller Tycoon.All of my friends like it. My family to. When I was at my grandmas I couldn't wait to go home so I could play Zoo Tycoon. I really recemend this game to everyone!

Review: Zoo Tycoon is the best computer game i've ever had! It keeps me busy for hours and I never get bored. With expansion packs it's even more fun. I would suggest it for anyone who likes animals and is interested in zoos. You also learn about animals and what they like in their exhibits. The graphics are really good and the sounds are cool too. It's a little hard when you start out but it gets easier. It's the best game ever!
