Review: I found this game tedious keeping up your different resource lines. Where it got really silly were situations where one has twelve or more enemy (AI) attacking and the defenders are all dead, yet one can play on and on making a new fighter now and then who gets killed pretty quickly while the attackers destroy one or two buildings at a time meanwhile your villagers work on right by the fighting. In fact I moved a villager to repair the barracks while it was under attack and this one worker often repaired faster than the six or seven attackers did damage.

Review: I have a thirst for history, this and Age of Empire's Gold Edition were able to clench my thirst with Scenarios, battle's, and Historic Remakes of Ancient Campain's.

Review: I have played some great mac/apple games but this one is AWSOME! I think this is the best computer game,wait its the best video game in the world!Its a strategy game with great action. It isnt close to a rpg,but it is still awsome!actually it better than any RPG I have played! I got it more than a year ago (feburay2002) and I still play it for hours just about every day! I mean, in this period of time I have goten a ton load of video games but AOE2 is still the best game I have ever played. So any body who loves stratagy games or just needs something to do you should buy Age of Empires2 Gold Edition! also check out the amazing prequel to age of empires 2, age of empires1 and age of empires1 rise of rome!
and check out the outstanding sequel to age of empires 2, Age of Mitholigy (I don't know if I spellelt that right)

Summary: Some things are missing but overall good game
Review: I love this game, don't get me wrong but there are a few things wrong with this game: Pros
-Online Play Great
-Lots of unique civs
-Great Strategies Cons
-slightly annoying, if you want to set up a attack strategy it is hard because your infantry and horsemen could follow one enemy unit around the board making it tough to control your guys
-Trade aspect is second to war which can be good but trading can be tough to do

Summary: Inifnitely fun, but technically flawed
Review: I've lost significant hours of my life to this game. That's how fun it is! I'm not even much of a gamer. Unfortunately though, 1) multiplayer isn't supported between Mac and PC, and 2) multiplayer doesn't even work well between two Macs. A friend and I (both running Mac OS X v10.2) tried multiplayer with version 1.0.4, the latest version, and we kept getting "out of sync" errors. Based on the reviews here and on the web, multiplayer problems seem to be common. So be warned. Kudos for the native Mac OS X application, though; I hope they can fix the multiplayer problems in a software update.

Review: if you dont have this game already,you should.This game will truly give you endless hours and hours of fun.I've had this game since it came out,and i still play it all the time.It brings some history to kids minds about the middle ages and their warfare, but also gives you tons of action and strategy....a truly great game.

Review: In answer to some reviewers here: no Mac/PC Multiplayer possible. Only Mac/Mac. Destineer says they're trying what they can do about it. Honestly, I suspect there's some Microsoft policy involved here. Why else is inter-system multiplayer possible with far most other games?
