Summary: Is this company still in business?
Review: ...[With] the advent of 'rSchool' we bought 5.0. ...[It] isn't compatible with Macs - they sell version 5.0 with version three for us pathetic Mac users. To say the least, we are disappointed...!

I would love to address this with the folks at Able-soft, but their website is down, and their listed phone number is out of service.

Frankly, if they HAVE gone out of business, I think they probably earned it. Including a two-versions old product inside a shiny new box is bad business. They should have marketed version five as being specifically for PC's...

Summary: Two high school teachers
Review: Both my husband and I have been using Teacher's Toolbox since '98. Its not that we don't want to change, but this program does so much. We currently HAVE to submit grades through Jackson's Grade Quick. We keep our grades on TT and just type them in at the end of the quarter on Grade Quick. TT has email links, seating charts, and attendance features that are great. If another program were better, we would switch, but that program hasn't come along!

Summary: Best software I've used!
Review: I love this grading software. It has more features and integrates them seamlessly. It's easy to read and easy to use. It not only does grades which you can weight, but clickable seating charts and attendance plus progress reports! Better than the clunky SchoolMaster my school is pushing!!

Summary: Is this company still in business?
Review: I upgraded to 5.0 from the venerable 1.0 -- which I've been using for years -- specifically for the web-based "rSchool" enhancements. Unfortunately, though there's no warning of this anywhere in their documentation, rSchool is only for users in the US.

Without rSchool, if you compare the features of the two versions, it's hard to believe that they're actually four version numbers apart. Not all that much has been added since 1.0. I really wish I had saved my money. WHen I contacted their tech support people to see if they could accomodate me (really, all they need to do is change the rSchool registration so that it will accept Canadian provinces and Canadian postal codes) I was not only given no help and no offer of my money back -- I wasn't even given an apology.

Inasmuch as version 5.0 is almost identical to 1.0 (which I must admit was way ahead of its time) I must grudgingly admit that it's a good product, but considering their misleading advertising, unhelpful customer service, lack of version-improvements, and lack of desire to equally serve all their customers -- well, you get my point.

Maybe version six...

Summary: Help for busy teachers
Review: I've been using Teachers Tool Box (3.0, 4.0 and now 5.0) and find it to be a great help. Version 5.0 seems to be the same as 4.0, so there is no reason to upgrade. One of the best progams I've found for teachers!

Summary: My 4th grade teaching wife loves it
Review: My wife asked me to help with the administration of her class so I aquired 3.0. Since she has little familiarity with software I studied it and trained her. Now she does a considerable amount of communication with parents using the system. Further, after getting over the learning curve, she is able to reduce much of the mundan repetitative work with TT. I like the simplicity of the system.

Review: The effort the program requires is more than offset by the time saved in grade calculation and weighting. Grades, attendance, flexible seating plans eliminates the use of a grde book. Be sure to make backups daily!!!
