Summary: Warp 2
Review: This is a terrible game, has potential but the gameplay was awful, slow and lagging even with a new G4 I was impressed at how poorly it performed. It seemed like a novel idea but it just could'nt pull through. Maybe if it didn't freeze all the time I would be patient enough to sit through the constant lagging....

Summary: Star Trek Starship Creator Warp 2
Review: This is an awesome game!! You can build your own ship and even take it in to deep space battles!!! You can also buy translation matrixes to understand alien languages!! There are all sorts of different classes of ships. You can get very good weapons and parts for your ship! It is a great game!!!!
If you want to get a Star Trek game, this is a good choice!!!

Summary: Trek-tacular!!!
Review: This program is great. I have been using the Starship Creator software since the release of the original.

Starship Creator is for people into "Trek-Tech".

My only recomendation to Simon & Schuster is that they create an update that allows you to walk through the ship in 3D, kind of like Captains Chair, but with the ability to roam freely throught the whole ship, not just the brigde.

Summary: Uh, No....
Review: This seems to be the general sentiment about this game and its true: It has all the problems that the first version has.

You get more ship hulls to work with, that is true, but that's about it. The game still has the same lame missions that take forever to play and ARE NOT FUN! Also, the user interface is still pretty much the same.

The developers needed to make some major changes in this version, such as being able to captain the ship you built (even in a limited "Star Fleet Academy" manner) and to unlock better hulls and equipment other than using the "credit" system. How about promotions to higher engineering positions? That makes more sense. I downloaded a money cheat so I could mess with different hulls without playing all those tedious missions. This extended the game's life on my PC by a week but I still got frustrated by not being able to fully interact with my creations.

I though that was the whole point behind this game.

Summary: If it worked, I might like it
Review: To be fair, I bought the game when it first came out and have just now installed it. And I can't get it to work. The program tells me that there is no CD in the drive, when it IS in there. And the website is apparently gone, so I have no idea how to get tech support. I may edit this review if I actually get it work, but right now I'm irritated at finally having a computer the software would work with and it still not working. Grrrrrr.

Summary: Starship SELF-DESTRUCT Creator
Review: What in the name of creation led to the production of this revolting pile of poop. If Starship Creator and its Deluxe edition weren't enough of an embarrassment, then the authors certainly achieved what has to be the greatest defacation of software garbage in the ST gaming genre. I personally couldn't believe that I actually bought this worthless piece of junk, but in saving face, I can admit that I did so based on name alone- lowering my opinion for the licensing standards of the ST name that Paramount retains. Whoever created second edition of this game should be shot. It maintains the same rediculous promises that it never delivers in previous versions and worse yet, it leaves out ships that were part of previous releases. On the upside, it allows you to export the ships you create the into Dominion Wars DS9 game which might be useful. Otherwise, you are wasting time as far as a stand alone product, especially if you are expecting to have a good time. Evidently, what passes for fun with Simon & Schuster is the kind of game that plays like a DOS reject, without the frills, bells or whistles. To make matters worse, its graphic content reflects this philosophy making it the worst ST game I have ever played. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME. You will not experience any actual gameplay outside of selecting parts or crew members from a list. This game bites.

Summary: Why can't ship creator be better
Review: Why can't the starship creator give you the ability to design, construct, install systems, and then allows you to test eash system in a 3D walkthrough type senery. Let you walkthrough the ship and go to the bridge for the test flights and yoyu command the ship from there. You will be able to fix any problems that comes up just like the real engineers do on Star Trek.
