Summary: Arrrrgh!!!! Make the pain go away!!!!
Review: After suffering through the first "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" game, I felt hopeless. I was dazed and confused. I didn't have a whisper of hope for the future of humanity. And then I saw the second game in the series on the shelves. I said, "I'd heard the questions aren't repeated as much", and I decided to buy it just to see if it was true.

It's true, the questions aren't repeated as much as before. The problem is, now they're MUCH harder! It's impossible to get anything higher than $16,000 now! And since the questions don't repeat, you'll never get to the top!

But what's the worst part? That's the ONLY CHANGE that was made to this game. NOTHING ELSE!!!!! It's as if the first game had no problems whatsoever! Regis is STILL appallingly rude and impatient, the "Fastest Finger" mode STILL doesn't let you put the four answers in order, the game STILL quits if you take too long to do things, you STILL can't skip the introduction sequence, the Phone-a-friend lifeline is STILL worthless, there's STILL no option to make the games easier or harder, you STILL only get instructions once, and there's STILL no option to use the mouse! Regis even says EXACTLY the same stuff as before!

I bought the game out of total curiosity, just to see if this game was really any better than the first. As it turns out, it is virtually the EXACT SAME GAME. It has all the problems of the first, except for one which was replaced by another one!

This game has not been improved one bit over the first. The makers didn't even try to improve it. This game displays total laziness and lack of creativity. It's not worth one second of your time.

Summary: Throwing a party? Otherwise, eww..
Review: As the title says, this game is stupid alone. However, as a party game, it's awesome. I played it with 8 other people and it was really intense and fun. I bought it myself and returned it the next day- it just wasnt worth it.

Summary: An Improvement
Review: This is the second installment of Who Whant To Be A Millionare. And it it is better in many ways. First of all I see the creators have found their mistake in the 1st edition so they added a ton of question so that it will probally wont repeat. They also have improved the graphics Regis looks better. But this game still has its flaws. For one the questions are to hard I still haven't won the million. Regis still says the same thing over and over. They still didn't do anything to improve the lifelines. And you still can't get around that intro which takes for ever. Also they didn't even try to do anything with the fastest finger. I still don't recommend this but you might want to give it a try.

Summary: Good game.
Review: Great game, what more can be said? Millions of questions that test your knowledge, the only difference is that there is no suspense at all, because you are playing it and you can play it over and over again. You get your three lifelines, one of which is calling your best friend (not in real life). Regis will call the plumber, the butcher and so on to help you with the question at hand and each has their own unique personality. There is not much that can be said about this game, you press the key for the letter choice (A.B.C.D.) of the answer.

Summary: REGIS YOUR A IDIOT
Review: this is a boring game where all the questions are just repeated over and over. every time you get a answer you hear regises dumb voice making som idiotic comment. IT is ok the first couple of times you play it but after that it gets really boring. You would be better of playing it at a friends house or renting it or somthing but deffinately dont buy it.

Summary: A great game and lots of fun!
Review: I am a game show fan, and feel a shortage in the modern world of Windows 95/98/Me/2000 of game shows. A few are cropping up and I like the Who Wants To Be a Millionaire show and decided to get the Gameboy Color version first. I enjoyed it and decided to get the PC version.

I had trouble. It wouldn't run and no live tech support is available on weekends, the website helped to identify the problem and downloaded the patch for Pentium 4 systems and it flew. Go to the website if you have any problems starting this game. The graphics are superb and Regis' funny demeanor and voice are there. I didn't mind reading the questions, speech takes an awful lot of disk space and there's enough speech anyway. I'm never good at the fastest finger question and am glad there is a 1 player option. The questions are just like the show, varied, with some I know and some I have to look up or ask someone; thank goodness for the pause feature! The music, look and ambience is almost exactly like the show and is fun whether you win or lose, with Regis' trash talk.

The negatives: Why the timer? If they don't have one in the game, they don't need one in the CD-ROM version! One person took over 50 minutes on the show on one question! Why should we be punished?!?! (Again, thank goodness for the pause feature!) There is no way to skip the lengthy introductory credits; we know who made the program, let us skip to the game like Hasbro does for their gameshow CD's! If you take too long putting in your name, the game will force one in; I was talking to someome at that point and the game put a name in! I had to start over, watching the annoyingly long intro credits! Sometimes Reege chatters too much between questions; I like him fine, but maybe a "chatter" setting should be implemented so if you're in a hurry to move the game along, you can. The "trash talk" is still fun.

These are very strong negatives, but this is a terrific game and the negatives detract only slightly, hence the 4 star rating. It is still a lot of fun once the game is going. Lastly, I mean no offense by saying this so please don't take this too seriously: you know you can't really win the million dollars. It's a CD-ROM game for the computer, already! Even Reege himself says so after you win the virtual million dollars! Here's a reminder for people disappointed in not winning real money: TAXES!!! This is just for fun, and that's exactly what this game is, a lot of fun!

Summary: Don't stress over your final answer
Review: Millionaire 2nd Edition is a quality game if you've got several people and have some free time. It's not terribly thrilling, especially if you are playing alone. If you have got a group of people playing, it tends to move a bit faster. The graphics and sounds of Regis are incredible and the game is definitely a challenge. You'll probably use up all your lifelines by the time you've reached the $8000 level. If you plan on playing with a group of people, go for it, but if you're looking for a fun game to pass the time, look elsewhere.
