Summary: Kylix 2 is the best linux development system out there
Review: This version of Kylix is better than ever !! As you probably know, Kylix is Delphi for Linux. It now allows cross platform development between Delphi 6 on windows and Kylix 2 on linux. This is best for new applications though, porting legacy delphi applications do require some rework. The new Kylix 2 installs beautifully, I remember having install problems with Kylix 1. Kylix 2 is much more stable too. The new features are the XML transformation and SOAP and web components. The only real need to upgrade from 1 to 2 would be for enterprise users though. For professional or open edition nothing much has changed. This is a real pity, since you have to fork out the big bucks for the enterprise. But if you have Delphi 6 the good news is that Kylix 2 Enterprise is much cheaper ! Overall it is the best linux development system out there.. Way to go Borland !!
