Print Artist, Print Kit Edition is the newest software from Sierra Home, a longtime leader in the creation of computer craft software. The friendly interface coupled with easy-to-follow instructions and digital imaging tools make creating and personalizing cards, banners, newsletters, and crafts easy and fun. You simply pick a project, make design adjustments, and print in a matter of minutes. Begin by choosing from a set of predesigned projects or a blank project that you design entirely on your own. The predesigned projects contain an assortment of more than 10,000 layouts and 150,000 graphic images. The wide selection of layouts includes everything from children's party supplies and invitations to T-shirt designs and scrapbook ideas. It's also possible to begin work on a project and then save your layout, so you can revisit your project at a later date. Once you choose a template, just click to enter the editing window, where you can add text, insert your own photos, or utilize images from the built-in image gallery. The image gallery previews thumbnails from the seven-CD image library included with the Print Artist, Print Kit Edition software. After choosing an image from the image gallery, a friendly window prompts you to insert the CD that contains the selected image. The selected image will then be inserted into your project. Additionally, Print Artist, Print Kit Edition is equipped with download capabilities, thus providing an even larger pool of images from which to choose. With the click of a mouse, you can download additional graphics from the Printartist.com Web site directly into the Print Artist, Print Kit Edition product. These additional graphics include artwork, layouts, and fonts. The Collections Manager function clearly categorizes the downloaded content, enabling instant and effortless browsing of downloaded fonts and images. Together with the downloading capabilities, Printartist.com provides an inspirational Tips and Tricks section, as well as an online community. The Tips and Tricks section includes design ideas and tutorials--from the use of color to enhance moods to the use of special effects to create your own professional-looking projects. Browsers can join the online community and the Print Artist Lovers Society (PALS), and share ideas with others interested in home crafts and print graphic design. Users in the online community can also post ideas, questions, and advice to the publishing message board. After you select images and fonts for each project, the real fun begins. Customizing your layout is a breeze with the drag-and-drop functionality. A toolbox that complements the editing window provides scaling, rotating, and coloring tools.
