Rating: Summary: Comparison of this to other products Review: I actually have some background on this type of product because I have worked in the CD industry for almost 8 years.I personally reviewed this product compared to 6-7 other products that are similar when we were looking for the best repair solution available. Basically, what I found is that the Allsop repair solution was one of the top two products that I tested. The only other comparable product had a two part solution, sandpaper, and polishing cloth...it also costs almost 3 times the price. The main thing that I have found with CD scratches is that it is a VERY fine line between what scratch can be repairable, and what can't. It is also makes a HUGE difference what direction the scratch is in. If it goes along the radius of the CD, it is far less likely to be repairable than one that goes across the CD. Also, the depth and magnitude of a scratch is very unpredictable as to it's repairability or not. If a scratch on a CD IS repairable, I've found this product to be one of the best I've used yet. Rating: Summary: Could it make it worse? Review: I had 3 or 4 CD's with what I assumed to be minor scratches. I tried this product on two of them (so far) and both of them have actually gotten worse! I followed the directions to a Tee and even repeated the procedure three or four times, thinking I wasn't rubbing it in long enough or some such nonsense. One is a game and the other is a multimedia CD. The Multimedia CD was able to be played before but only one segment was unable to be played. Now the whole thing is having a problem loading and I am unable to see any of the program (It was the Insiders Guide to Episode I). Obviously this isn't good. The game is now completely unable to load. I'm extremely disappointed. I only wish sueing was an option... My guess is these scratches are unrepairable but why this would make the CD worse is beyond me. It seems they want you to buy their CD cleaning product in addition as this one seems to 'dirty' them up a tad. ;o) My advise would be to save your money or try another (more expensive) product. Luckily I only paid around 6 bucks!

Rating: Summary: Allsop CD Scratch-Repair Kit Review: Used this product according to package directions on a CD that had a very minor surface scratch at the very beginning of the first track. I reapplied the product 2 more times and was still unable to get the CD to play correctly. I have been using Allsop products for years, this is my first disappointment with one of their products.
