Summary: Do Not Use This Product
Review: I father got one of these for Christmas this year. I tried it on one of my Dreamcast games and the game is now ruined. It will not even load in my Dreamcast. It also left permanent marks on the disc. I followed the instructions exactly as they were written. I would recommend trying this product only as a last resort (if your game is already ruined).

Summary: Dr Kevorkian Skip Doctor
Review: I bought the motorized version of this product. I thought it would be a great way to take out some minor defects in some of my DVDs. After trying to fix 2 with only minor problems I have decided to cut my losses. I did both of them exactly by the instructions provided. I now have two DVDs that will not load on either of my DVD players. This product is junk. It does not work. The only thing I found it useful for was the stress relief I got from smashing it on the floor several times. Do not buy this product. Hopefully I can get the DVD's resurfaced at the local rental place.

Summary: Works fairly well
Review: The SkipDoctor works fairly well but is really more trouble than it's worth. If the CD is scratched badly you can spend up to half an hour cranking it and constantly respraying it because you must keep it wet or it will damage it. I would definitely recommend spending the extra money on the motorized one. Also, don't waste your money on extra resurfacing fluid because it says right on the bottle that it can be substituted with distilled water.

Summary: It works well !!
Review: I purchased the Skipdoctor and then came here and read the reviews. I must say on my first try, I was not impressed plus I felt I had to read the instructions repeatedly so not to screw it up. However, after reading the reviews I realized it was a good idea to use it at least three times for bad scratches. I am very happy to say it saved my treasured Metallica cds so for that alone I am deliriously happy. Skip doctor works well as I was very skeptical about these so called repair kits but please give this a try before you dump your cds. However my biggest grief with this product was the arm to put the cd onto. I was scared all the while about breaking it off when putting on and taking off my cd. Motorized version was not available for me to purchase but the cranking handle is not too bad. Filmsy plastic design. But otherwise it does what it says

Summary: Horrible.
Review: A huge waste of money. I should have just bought another game! It LOOKS simple, but it has broken my Star Wars KOTOR and many others. I tried everything, and not one CD has been fixed. If your lucky, your CD will remain the same. Seriously. That is the best result you'll get with this. Don'y buy it.

Summary: Worked for me....
Review: Although it is kind of a pain to use- I haven't had any problems with it. My husband and I have fixed many many many cds and dvds with this and some of them had been found under the seat in his car w/o a case.(pretty banged up obviously) IMHO- you get what you pay for. Sure it didnt fix all of them but it did fix 95% of them, which for the price- is pretty good.

Summary: Horrible product!
Review: It ruined 4 of my CDs! It has this white circle thing on the CD that will not come off! I went to my local music store, and they said the Skipdoctor took plastic off of the CD itself. Though, I bought it at Best Buy, which of course they basically don't return anything. Bad! Just go to your dollar store a few blocks down and get bathroom disinfecting wipes. They will give more satisfaction than this CD ruiner will!

Summary: Read the manual
Review: I got this product quite a while ago from some store, I don't remember which. I found it well wroth the money and has saved me quite a few cds. I ran out of that fluid fast but the booklet that came with it said it was "special purified water" so I just used purified water from the drug store and it worked just fine. The cloudly film and floral patern thing isn't a problem if you wipe it off while its still wet and then buff it well. I really have found this thing great.

Summary: works like a charm
Review: This product worked just like it said on the box. The only bad thing is the liquid is tons of money. this worked on so many PS2 games of mine.I just know you will like it,no love it. Thank you so much for reading my review.

Summary: Not reliable enough for my CD and DVDs
Review: In theory, this should work. Sand out the scratches. It dulls the surface, but since the lasers in players focus past that it shouldn't matter.

Except that it doesn't *quite* reach the edge of the disc, and some players have trouble dealing with that. And the dull discs look terrible. And it's cheap plastic, not particularly precisely made.

A few of my CDs were repaired, one was rendered unplayable. All looked like I had run sandpaper over them (gee, wonder why!).

It's not the worst device ever, but I've decided that a safer, better, and cheaper alternative is to use htpp://www.skippydisc.com, a professional cd resurfacing service.
