Summary: Worst Product Ever!!!
Review: I used this product once and only once...I had a minimally scratched DVD and when I used the Skip Dr. to fix it...it made it much, much worse. I followed the directions perfectly, but the resurfacing wheel, on the first try, left an unremovable film and hundreds of marks of the DVD surface...needless to say it is ruined...I would never, ever buy another product from this company again!

Summary: Total waste of money
Review: I bought this product to repair a Game Cube game that my son and his friends scratched up. I thought I would try to fix a scratched cd I had first. I ran it through once (following the directions to the letter) and tried the cd and it skipped worse than it did before. I read in the instructions that it may take a couple of times through the Skipdoctor to repair the problem. Well I ran it through 4 times and the cd still skips as badly as it ever did before. I tried it with the Game Cube disc. I had read the reviews before purchasing this item and they said this would fix Game Cube discs. I think an adapter for the smaller disc would be necessary. I could not find any place that actually sells such an item so in desperation I tried it on the Game Cube disc anyway. Well, after about 4 cranks of the handle the wheel on the Skipdoctor totally shredded leaving the residue all over the game disc. So not only is the Skipdoctor trashed but so is the Game Cube disc. It is completely beyond repair now. I bought the Skipdoctor thinking it would save me money. Now I will still have to pay to replace the Game Cube game and I have wasted additional money on this stupid thing. I have never been so disappointed in a product in all my life.

Summary: It's a great tool to fix CDs
Review: It's a really good tool to fix your audio CDs, but your DVDs, It doesn't really help that much. I had to fix my DVD 3 times before it could work perfectly. The first time I used this on one of my DVDs, it was completely messed up, the second time, the DVD worked like brand new. I'm saying that if you want to fix your DVDs with this machine you would have to have patience. To fix a DVD I had to fix it 2 or 3 times, but the audion CDs work perfectly with this tool. I really recommend this machine.

Summary: Saved an XBox game from the trash!!
Review: When I worked at a library we used one of these on our music CDs, so when my son came to me and told me one of his brand new XBox games was no longer working (the machine said the disc was the wrong format), I first contacted tech support who ran me through some options...one being cleaning. So I cleaned the disc manually and although I could see no scratches, it still would no work, so I ordered the skipdoctor.

The disc is totally usable again! My kids have since brought me a stack of music CDs that were destined for the trash as they were pretty well scratched up, and I am in the process of fixing all of those.

I find the skipdoctor easy to use, and I would recommend this to anyone.

Summary: JUNK, JUNK, JUNK! RUINS YOUR DVD'S AND CD'S
Review: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY... BOUGHT IT FOR 29.99 AND SHOULDN'T HAVE BOUGHT IT FOR A PENNY... TRIED IT ON BOTH CD'S AND DVD'S AND NOT ONLY DOESN'T IT TAKE ANYTHING OUT, BUT THE BUFFING CLOTH LEAVES A FILM ON THE SURFACE WHICH DOESN'T COME OFF.. THE ONLY SUGGESTION I CAN MAKE TO THOSE WHO HAVE AND USE DVD'S AND CD'S, BE MORE CAREFUL, HANDLE BETTER AND HOLD THEM WITH THE WHOLE IN THE MIDDLE. BE MORE CAREFUL PUTTING THE DVD AND CD INTO ITS CASE AND YOU WILL AVOID MOST SCRATCHES. NOW THE ONLY THING LEFT TO DO IS TO GET THE MANUFACTURERS OF THESE DVD AND CD CASES TO MAKE CASES WHERE YOU DON'T NEED SOME PLYER TO GET THE...THING OUT OF THE CASE WHICH CONTRIBUTES TO SOME SCRATCHING..
PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY... SKIP DOCTOR MANUAL VERSION OR MOTORIZED IS NOTHING BUT JUNK AND WILL RUIN YOUR ELECTRONIC ACCESSORIES THAT WE ALL SPEND A FORTUNE FOR...WILL BE RETURNING MINE TO THE STORE AS FAST AS I CAN... BUYER BEWARE!!!

Summary: SkipDR works wonders!
Review: I bought the SkipDR at the suggestion of a friend, as I didn't even know that you could fix CDs. I followed the simple directions and it worked! I have fixed all sorts of CDs, including my kids' video game discs and DVD movies. It's easy to use and there aren't any chemicals or complicated things to worry about. This has been a major money saver for us and I have even bought a few to give as gifts. SkipDR works!

Summary: satisfied customer
Review: I dont understand why anyone can not make this device work. When I got it I followed the instructions exactly and tried it on a few scratched up music cds, after 1 or 2 goes on the skip doctor these were fixed to almost new quality. Then I tried it on the xbox game halo, which was pretty scratched up. Before the game did not load the begining sequence and the cooperative mode just did not load, I used the skip doctor once it got rid of 3/4 of the scratches and works at virtually new speed. If you follow the instructions EXACTLY, the device will be able to fix any cd and you will get a lot out of it.

Summary: Great!
Review: I read some reviews on this product and decided to give it a try. After several attempts on an old MC Hammer CD I came to realize this thing wasn't working. But then, I tried it on a PS2 disc and voila! The thing worked so well it actually sped up loading times. So, what did I do differently? I figured out the trick. Throughout the whole process you must turn at the same speed, as to create an equal surface texture throughout the whole disc. Then I tried it on the MC hammer cd and voila! Both the CD and DVD both play well. So why the 4 of 5 stars? If i didn't figure out the turn trick it would have never worked.
