Summary: I Love This Thing!!
Review: After reading reviews for this thing I decided to order it and see for myself cause the reviews are so wildly mixed and for me it works like a charm! Maybe the reason so many others are having problems is that they aren't following instructions? The final buffing with the square pad is a very important step and should not be overlooked and you should buff until the spiraling that the crank part leaves is removed.

Summary: It works. No problem.
Review: I just used this device on an audio CD which I had gouged accidentally, causing the thing to skip. I have no complaints. The fluid appears to be clean water with some alcohol to aid evaporation, much like eyeglass cleaner. Since the Skip Dr. works by grinding the surface of the disc, I didn't just wet the disc, but kept it covered with a layer of fluid as I worked, in order to make sure that debris would be floated away and not cause additional scratches. In the end, the disc's surface was uniformly dulled, and my scratch was gone. This dulling is evidently not severe enough to damage playback, since my disc now plays well. Perhaps if Digital Innovations were to provide a second disc with a finer abasive, the dulling could be polished out altogether.

Summary: Well worth the money
Review: If you have a bunch of CDs, DVDs, or video games, this product is well worth the money. I had a game that I paid $50 for that I was getting disc read errors. I was on the verge of buying another one, but saw some scratches and figured I'd give this a try. If you follow the directions, you will be happy with the results. I haven't tried other discs yet, but saving this one alone saved me another $50.

Summary: Don't buy this product! It ruined my DVD.
Review: My DVD went from freezing on an extra feature to freezing in the middle of the movie after the first pass with the SkipDoctor. After the second pass, the freezing during the movie was just as bad. After the third pass, the DVD player would not even recognize the disk. This is despite the fact I followed the directions exactly, being sure to keep the disk wet and buff the DVD thoroughly. In short, this was a waste of time and money, and I will have to buy a new DVD, instead of being only mildly displeased that the extra wasn't working.

Summary: this thing didn't work at all
Review: I was so glad when i baught it from the thinking that it was going to save all my video game bot loading problems and skipping problems. So when i used it on my first 3 games that didn't work before and got no results i was disapointed but not extremely shocked. So i used it on a game the skipped on icassion but still worked i thaught i'd atleast get that out of it. So after i "cleaned" it i ran it in the system and instead of working and skipping every once and awhile the game didn't even load up. DONT BUY

Review: I was about to have to replace two of my favorite books on CD, but they were worth $40 and $70, respectively, and I wasn't looking forward to putting that out again. This product repaired them, so I don't have to buy new ones. It was well worth the investment!

Review: I hate this stupid product! It ruined my favorite DVD! I'm a film buff who recently purchased a import DVD. The Customs workers opened the package and the case and did not put the DVD back properly, so the disc arrived with minor scratches on it. Although the film played perfectly, near the end it would skip so badly I could only watch it until a certain point. Today while I was at Best Buy I decided to fork over the cash for the skip Dr. I was so excited to go home, fix my DVD and watch the film with no problems. Well it's hours later, ruined DVD, and LOTS of problems. This is suppose to be the Skip Dr. and yet all it does is create skips where their were none before! No I did not bang on it like some wild caveman, I followed the directions to a tee and it didn't work, then I tried it again and it didn't work and made it worse, then I tried it over and over again even letting the finished Disc sit for a while before playing it, didn't work. I've tried it so many times and all it did was get worse. My advice, if you must try this thing out please don't use it on anything special! BTW I once repaired a scratched up skipping like mad DVD with a little paste kit that only cost ONE DOLLAR! I only hope that little kit can repair the damage caused by the so called Skip Dr. BTW: You also have to practically turn into Bruce Lee just to pry the disc out!

Review: The Skip doctor does not fix CD's and DVD's, it ruins them! I followd the directions, spent 20 minutes on each CD / DVD and 3 out of 3 tries made the problem worse. I had a rare DVD import that skiped on one track, which now skips on 12 tracks. This thing does not work. If insist on buying this try it on a POS CD first, don't use it on one you love.

Review: I don't understand the complaints. It takes only a few minutes, and is easy unless you have arthritis or carpal tunnel. I had a very beaten up DVD i was going to throw out restored to like new quality.
