Summary: A solid, no-nonsense program
Review: Although this is a relatively old program, I'm still using Photoimpact 4.2 because of its ease of use, speed, and flexibility. The tool panel is easy to get to, and navigation flows very well. It's great for fixing up digitized images from negatives and slides, because the undo feature can go back to I think 6 or 8 steps if you don't like what you've "repaired." Changing dimensions, formats and resolution is very fast, and again, you can undo it quickly. I've never had it crash. When I first got v4.2, I had Windows 98. Now I've got Windows XP, and there are no problems as well. The results I get from using v4.2 are virtually indistinguishable from the results I've gotten from Photoshop 7. I don't do much in terms of special effects, but I've tried stitching images together, and pasting with excellent results. It's a good, solid program made easy for the beginner, and has enough features for the advanced people.

Summary: Photoimpact
Review: I had this program on a cd when I got my computer so i didn't buy it and i am glad that i got it for free! Well it is kinda hard to understand, but the most part i understand is the part when you can use special tools like transform pictures, do wind and blur effects and alot more effects it is a pretty good program. the onlye reason i give it 3 stars is because i can't figure out how you do anything else realy and that madedit for webpages would be really helpful for my web page!

Summary: adequate personal graphics editor
Review: I have accumulated a number of graphics editors that came bundled with various graphics products, and some with Windows itself. Of all of these I have found PhotoImpact to be the most useful, although it has a number of flaws and inconveniences (ie: having to click Edit and scroll down to crop every time you want to crop a photo gets old quickly). Unfortunately, uLead itself leaves a great deal to be desired - the "free" downloads and trial versions require many attempts at download; an email I sent to their tech support was never answered, etc
