Review: After a free 30 day download from Adobe I was convinced that Elements gave me all the flexibility to create what I was never able to do in a darkroom.When I purchased a digital camera it came with Photoshop 5.5 Limited Edition (a teaser so you want more) Elements gave me all I wanted and more, more than I could ever do with film and chemicals and I don't have to turn off the lights to do it.Thank you Adobe for making a retired photographer HAPPY again.

Review: I'm VERY unhappy with this software and consider it a collosal waste of money. I purchased the Adobe product thinking it would be user friendly. This product is NOT user friendly. Additionally I despise the fact that you cannot print more than one picture per sheet. This software limits you to only one picture per sheet - unless you choose the contact sheet. This needlessly wastes photo paper.

Review: I downloaded a trial version from Adobe because I was thinking about upgrading from the free Ulead PhotoExpress software that came with my scanner. In my opinion, Photoshop Elements is easy to use and did a very good job at photo manipulation. However, to my surprise, it didn't really do anything better than PhotoExpress. True, it has some features that PhotoExpress lacks. But PhotoExpress has an easier-to-use touch-up mode for removing scratches and dust, and it also has a more robust "projects" section for creating greeting cards and other printable creations. I'll save my money and stick with Ulead, which seems better suited to the typical home/family user.

Summary: Photoshop Elements Rocks !!!
Review: This incredible software is for "the rest of us". If you have the inspiration , but not the education to master Photoshop 6.0, this is the perfect match ! You get most of the necessary features of Photoshop without the need to have the manual in your lap the entire time you are working. I found this software to be so user-friendly that it has given me the confidence to work through other progams that I never would have tried. I recommend this software for anyone who wants to clean up a photo or go all the way to complicated layers.

Summary: Waste of Money
Review: I was using Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition and decided to purchase Adobe Photoshop Elements because I wanted a program that saved the EXIF information such as the date the photo was taken. With PhotoDeluxe when I enhanced and saved the photo, the new file didn't include the date the photo was taken. With Photoshop Elements I love the way the EXIF information is included in the changed photo.
Another thing I want in a photo editing software is: WHEN I DECREASE THE IMAGE DIMENSIONS I WANT THE RESOLUTION TO INCREASE.
Adobe PhotoDeluxe Home Edition to does a great job of this. With Photoshop Elements, if I have a photo that is 1280 by 960 pixels, Photoshop Elements will list the width as 17.778 inches and the height as 13.333 inches and the resolution as 72, and this is fine. What I want is a 6 x 4 picture, and if I change the width of 17.778 inches to 6 inches and change the height from 13.333 to 4 inches, Photoshop elements will continue to list the resolution as 72ppi, unless I type in something different. Why can't I just enter in 6 and 4 and have Photoshop Elements figure out the ppi? I love the way PhotoDeluxe makes this so easy because all I have to do is scroll down to either "4x6 landscape" or "4x6 portrait." I called customer support about cropping photos. I was told to enter the dimensions as 6 x 4 and enter the resolution as "250 or 300." I explained to him that if, for example, I crop the photo to half the size I will unnecessarily be making the file size way too large. He didn't have a good answer.
A small grip about Photoshop Elements is I'm unable to find an "Instant Fix" command. It is hard for me (a novice) to properly adjust the color in Photoshop Elements.
What I do with most of my pictures is get 4x6 prints from Shutterfly.com. I love the way Shutterfly prints the date the photo was taken on the back of the photo.
I'm now using the trial version of Image Expert 2000 and it seams to have everything I need.

Summary: Everything it Promised
Review: I needed an editing software package for my blossoming digital photography hobby. With very little background in photo editing software, I was able to begin the most basic tasks without referrencing the book or help screeens! This software can do a lot, so it will take quite a while to get through all the learning curve, but that's not because its' hard, its' just packed full of a lot of features. I love it!

Summary: "Not for a novice"
Review: I purchased this product with a lot of expectations. .... After reading thru 13 chapters. I "Finally" figured out how to make the program to "size" the images corrdctly and "not" cut the heads or feet off. If your fairly new to computer photo programs you may want to reconsider this product. It's manual, reads like a Military text book. This might be ok if your in the military. But for those of us who are not?....I suggest looking elsewhere. The idea behind the program is "great". Once you figure out how to do "anything" at all. It seems to run smoothly. But hardly worth the money that it costs. Too bad, as if it were more easly understandable?.....Might make a good "Toy"

Review: I'm no pro, but even i can use this program to do stuff that makes my friends and family say, "WOW!" It's well worth every penny. And if you are wondering if this program will do <blah>, the answer is yes! (Notice it doesn't matter what you want it to do, it does it-- i promise!) Only a true professional needs Adobe photoshop now! GREAT, MUST HAVE!

Summary: Fantastic product
Review: I must say that I was highly skeptical of this software at first. I have never been a fan of "lite" products. Photo Deluxe was, in my opinion, a poor excuse for image editing software. I was afraid this was just going to be Photo Deluxe 2. I was wrong. Elements has the tools that the amateur/hobbyist needs. I'd even venture to guess that most web developers could get by with this as well. Those familiar with Adobe's pro version of Photoshop will likely not miss a thing. In addition, I've found it to be much faster that Paint Shop Pro 7. I run a 950 Mhz AMD Athlon, and PSP just feels sluggish. Elements is very responsive.

I won't go into all the features that I think make it an excellent buy, but the one that stands out is the photomerge. It allows you to take several individual photos having overlap and stitch them into a panorama. I had some photos like this that I took years ago on a trip, and I seriously doubted the software would be able to stitch them together. It worked flawlessly with no tweaking or fooling around. In about 1 minute they were seamlessly merged.

In addition to this, I've found it very easy to use. I've been fooling around with the pro version of Photoshop for several years, and I never knew how to use 30%+ of the features. Elements guides you through without insulting your intelligence.

If you're joining the digital photography masses with the purchase of a scanner and/or a digital camera, this is a "must own" piece of software. Forget Paint Shop Pro or the junky stuff that came with your imaging device and just buy this. It's easy to see why the pros have been such big Adobe fans all these years.

Review: Adobe Photoshop Elements is an intriquing and remarkable tool. After using it for just a few weeks, here are some thoughts. My scanner came supplied with Photoshop LE 4.0, a "lite" version of Photoshop image editing / enhancing software. It was soon evident that an upgrade was desireable. What gave me pause was the cost of Photoshop 5.0 or 6.0, not inexpensive programs by any measure, yet almost universally considered the 'industry standard'. Elements provides an extremely inviting alternative, adding genuine power as a partner to your lite version....I'm still learning as I go, and Adobe has provided for this with useful hints and 'receipes' to make you productive quite quickly. As you work with it, you'll find ever more power and features. On a cost / productivity basis, this program just can not be matched.
