Review: I love this program. I was using Adobe Photoshop Elements till I got this. It didn't take long for me to adapt to this program. Some stuff took me a litle while to figure out, but once I did I was doing great. Now with Elements and this I can really make cool stuff! Great buy!

Review: All I have to say is that this thing is kind of a ram hog, takes forever for effects to render. Photoshop seems to have quite a bit more support from 3rd party plugin developers. Many many many plugin's available for photoshop which increases its value imensly. Photoshop Elements is only only like $20 more than Paint Shop Pro and its definitely worth it. There's really not to much to rave about with paint shop pro; think of it as a stripped down version of photoshop elements. This is only my opinion but whatever...

Review: I been using Paint Shop Pro since version 5, and liked it. The features are excellent and the price is great. Version 8, however, has been taxing my patience. This is why:

1. It's slow, sucking up loads of RAM and system resources, even on new PCs, and causing vector graphics (especially text) to become unusable.

2. It's buggy, with frequent hangs, script errors and other glitches. For one complicated image job, I actually had to import my work into PSP 6, because version 8 simply refused to work properly. Again, vector graphics and text cause the most problems.

Issues like these are unacceptable. PSP 8, in its current state, should not have been allowed out of beta testing. Until Jasc improves the quality of this release, I cannot recommend Paint Shop Pro. Save your money.

Review: I really like PSP8. I have yet to buy it but I have used the free trial and I love it. Recently I was scanning in very old photographs for my Grandfather. Some of them were in pretty bad shape. First I would adjust the color and contrast of the photos because the scanner tinted them some. Then I would use the scratch remover. This little tool does wonders. I also had to use the clone tool on occasion. I was able to basically rebuild a corner of a picture with this tool. You can't even tell that there was something wrong to begin with. I wish I could show it to all of you, but alas, I can't. I would recommend PSP8 for all. I even used it to make some wallpapers for my computer. It is a very fun program. I have also tried Photoshop CS. Both programs are very cool and useful.

Summary: Paint Shop Pro rulez!
Review: I purchased this program mainly to edit photos as I had heard it was pretty good at it. The first photo I edited on it was a slide I scanned in that my daughter had picked up at auction and we had no idea what it was. The one-step photo cleaned it up in virtually no time - it was a picture of Paris! After that, I wondered what else I could do with it, since it looked like it could do more. I ended up having to take online classes - and they are readily available all over the net - and am now making graphics I could have never done before. I don't consider myself particularly artistic, and I had never used graphics programs before other than to edit photos. Now, I am making animated graphics (Animation Shop is included), and am making some totally awesome graphics.
